Good selection but not enough staff. Multiple visits, it has taken way too long to first find an employee and then I still had to wait even longer for an employee from the correct department to come when I needed assistance. One visit, after I checked out (waited in line for a good 8 minutes), I needed help getting 3 bags of salt from the middle shelf by the registers. They called for assistance and I waited about 5 minutes and still no one came. They called again and still nothing. A few minutes later, I asked someone to page again and told them if no one comes soon, I also will want to speak to the manager. That got things moving, but I shouldn’t have had to ask for a manager in order to get assistance.

Technically, I had a terrible experience with a third-​party installer contracted by Home Depot. But HD has to take responsibility for the whole customer experience, and I don’t have any information on the installation company as I ordered and paid for installation through HD.
In a nutshell, I ordered a door at the beginning of June. It was supposed to be installed by the end of June. It doesn’t look like I’ll have it before August. Several mistakes were made along the way. The customer service has always been decent but if you just let orders sit around in your store for weeks without wondering why the installer hasn’t come by to pick them up, you’re not doing your job. If I hadn’t called to inquire it would still be sitting there.
It was an expensive custom order. I will take my business elsewhere from now on.

The installers came to install the door today, ⁷⁄₂₉. Six, maybe seven weeks after the order was placed. AND THEY INSTALLED THE WRONG DOOR. (Completely different model that looks considerably less expensive than the retractable screen door that we splurged on.)
You can’t make this stuff up.
Two star rating gets dropped to one star. Run away as fast as you can; this Home Depot is an epic disaster of a hardware store.

Terrible customer service. No one cares about you. Yesterday, I was there to buy Appliances for my new Home.. I was waiting by the Appliances section for more than 30 minutes and no one came to help. The shop, despite being saturday was almost empty and I noticed that most of the employees were chit chatting. I stopped one of the employees and told him that I need help in with Appliances. He told me that I (customer) have to look for Bob (???) I asked him where to find him. Then he remembered that that there is a paging system in that stores and he paged Bob. Bob never bothered to come. After waiting for another 15 minutes, I intercepted another employee and told him that I need help. He also told me to wait for Bob. I asked him where is Bob and he told me with a sarcastic smile that Bob is in the front. Then I asked him who the manager is and where to find him, he said the manager’s name is Dave and again told me with a smile that he is also in the front. Quite irritated, I left the stores. the stores lost a customer and 7500 Dollars worth of Business. Menard’s in Joliet road took care of me very well and they clinched the business. There is a Titanic difference in service between Home depot and Menard’s. One Dissatisfied customer a day will bring the Home Depot stores down and i am sure the Home Depot stores in Countryside will be folded down soon. Avoid Home Depot in Countryside. All you will find is arrogant staff who don’t care whether they work or not because unlike Sears, they Don’t work on Commission. Go visit the Menard’s stores on Joliet Road and east street you will be impressed with their service. I want to give a Zero star for Home depot’s service, but there is no option in Unilocal to do that.

In here a lot for home projects. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Prices are usually pretty good but just make sure you compare to others online before going!

I’m a Menard’s girl, for most things, but Home Depot KILLS menards when it comes to paint selection. Highly recommend this store for your painting needs! The staff has always been really helpful to me when I come in, especially with my lack of home-​repair handiness… Example: «So my new washer/​dryer does not have a way to ventilate itself… now what??» In that case they provided me with the perfect option– a water vent system that was just a few dollars and has basically saved my life! I definitely think they train their employees well, especially on how to zone in on people with that confused look on their face. I can wander aimlessly if I’d like, but I’ve always been able to find amazing help here.
Prices are fair and competitive.

Helpful employees. Products are usually in stock. Competitive prices and a good selection. What more could I want in a home improvement store? Did I say plenty of carts and parking?

I went to HD to get wipers. The manager, Norwood was incredibly helpful.
It was a very cold night so Norwood had me pull my car into the store and
changed my wiper blades himself. That’s what I call customer service

My husband and I just moved out of the city and are used to the excellent customer service provided by the North Avenue location. Within seconds of entering the Chicago location, you are always greeted by helpful service people to guide you to your destination. Not so at this location. We are in the midst of a massive cosmetic update, so we have run out to this Home Depot on several occasions, and have been disappointed by an annoyed and unhelpful staff every time.
The clincher was last Sunday. We are remodeling a bathroom and were looking for wainscoting. We ended up choosing individual pine slats, but unfortunately, they were two short of the amount needed to finish out project. Despite it being a weekend, the store was virtually empty, and we couldn’t find anyone working anywhere besides paint and checkout. Finally, we spotted a guy in lumber. We walked over to that worker and asked if they had more. He said no, and then stood there, unwilling to offer any more help. I suggested calling the Broadview location, and he said that yes, I could do that, and then walked away. After finding out that there were more in stock at Broadview, we decided to begin the project and make a trip to Broadview later.
While we were checking out, my husband mentioned that there was not enough left to finish our project, and the check out guy looked it up in the computer. It turned out that there were 48 left in stock. He was very helpful, and called over the intercom for someone to bring them out of the back. We waited. And waited. And waited. No one in the store responded. We could see our original lumber guy moping around in his aisle, and he ignored the calls. Granted, I don’t know that it was his job to get wood from the back, but considering his unhelpfulness before, I can’t help but think that he was purposely ignoring us. The cashier apologized many times, but it wasn’t until he said that he didn’t want us to make an extra trip to get more wood that I realized that no one was going to help us. We were in the store, asking for help, and no-​one would help us. Call me demanding, but I think it’s crazy to make a second trip back to buy something that a store has in the building because no one will help you. We will be taking our business to Ace Hardware and Home Depot Broadview, where people actually care to help you from now on.

In my line of work I’m usually in an HD daily. I do like this one. It’s a smaller one and they have tool rental. Which I use quite often. Staff here is really nice and always helpful. Staff here is really more personable than other HD’s I have visited. One thing I did notice is that the prices here are better than the store in Broadview. I am assuming the reason is because there is a Menards not far from this location.

I bought a $ 50 light switch w/​remote about 4 months ago. Let’s be real, I have no idea what i did to the receipt. Customer service e was awesome and replaced it for the same exact one without any hassle! Stellar service!

I would like to personally thank Steve at the paint department for his knowledge and customer service. He made an already stressful situation less painful when I had an issue with a Martha Stewart Metalic paint. If you plan on starting a painting project ask for this gentleman, he knows his paint. Great job and thank you for all your help!

So maybe it’s because I’m a chick but they always help me and explain things to me — somehow they can tell I have no idea what I’m doing. I have to say I appreciate that. Thanks guys.

I’ve always received fast and friendly service at this Home Depot location. I was there Thanksgiving weekend to buy holiday decorations and the lighted snowman I wanted was sold out. The manager let me buy the display model and I got 10% off. I was there today, Thursday, December 10^th and though I’ve always noticed the staff was pleasant, they were extra pleasant today.
Every employee in an orange apron who passed me smiled and asked how I was today. I was quite flabbergasted, but I figure it was some holiday directive. More retailers should follow this example, its nice to get a sense of being appreciated when you patronize a business.

I never would have thought that I could have so much fun at Home Depot! I have certainly been there on numerous occasions to purchase anything from sandpaper to potting soil. But the ‘cabinet day’ gave me new love for the place.
The man & I had stopped in on a Sunday to pick up some tile samples & browse around for ideas, when we found ourselves in the cabinet section. When we finally left 2 hours later, we had officially redesigned the layout of the kitchen, courtesy of Tom (the fabulous custom kitchen master). While obviously we did have to wait for the order to be custom-​made, we did get to leave w/​a fabulous CAD drawing of the new layout.
All said & done, they arrived just as scheduled, fit perfectly and are beautiful! I highly recommend heading out to this location for an extremely knowledgeable staff & terrific service.
