Magic Nails Salon & Spa

I have been coming here for over five years. There are a few technicians that are better than others (as at any establishment) but the price can’t be beat and if its not perfect the first time, they will go out of their way to fix it for you. I actually had another tech fix someone else’s mani job just because she saw that it was crooked as I was paying– I didn’t even notice it! If you want a weekend appointment then you need to get there first thing, but trust me they are worth the wait!

I’ve been going to magic nails for over three years and I’ve never left disappointed. Every two weeks I call the day of to make an appointment with Don, they always fit me in! Okay so now to talk about don… Seriously I rave about him daily. He is hands down the best nail guy, ever. I get no chips that NEVER chip and often last three weeks. He picks my color, my shape, everything. They truly take care of every client and invest in their business. Everyone is great at the salon but if you want a great no chip ask for Don!

After my pedicure I had several crookedly cut nails — my little toenail was cut diagonal! My manicure? She cut them so short and rounded instead of squared off like I get at any other salon. They look stupid. Wish I’d had more time to get to Mario T’s.

I don’t come enough to have a «go to» person, but it doesn’t matter to me because everyone has performed high quality work. I usually get no chip manis and pedis :)

This is a VERY CLEAN and very high quality salon. I had Candace and she gave me the best manicure and pedicure I have ever had. she is terrific. prices are very good and i highly recommend this Salon — and especially Candace!

Love this place. Excellent service and super clean. The staff is very attentive and greets you as soon as you walk in. Prices are reasonable for such a nice location.

So I was used to going to the Willowbrook location. But this location has a different feel which is fine. It was Friday night and the service seem to go a little slow but at the end it was still good.

Awful! I’m so mad. They ruined my nails! I asked for a acrylic she gave me CHUNKY gel. She didn’t even acknowledge the picture I showed her for the shape I wanted. They were uneven and breaking within days.

I love Magic Nails. They do a wonderful job without rushing you out. It’s very clean inside, which is important to me too!

I love this place. This is the only nail salon that I will go to. I’m super picky about my nails and particular & they always always impress me. Would highly recommend. It does get busy on the weekends but just call!

Beware if you go on the weekend… This place is nuts.
Every time we have tried to go without appointments we have wound up waiting a half hour or more. And to boot it’s not like you are waiting for the best pedicure of your life. A pedicure by itself is $ 35 and if you want them to use the scraper on the dry skin on your heels it’s an extra $ 5. So typically you are paying $ 40 for a pedi that you had to wait a half hour to even get.
The last time we went they told us it would be a 10 minute wait. After 40 minutes we walked out.
I’m giving them 3 stars because of how clean this salon is and their staff is friendly but in my opinion this place is not worth the wait.
Also, not sure what’s up with the ventilation here but you know that salon smell? The smell of chemicals? It’s always SO strong here.
All in all — just another average nail salon if you ask me.

I found this place on Unilocal.I was a walk in, so I figured it would be a little while before I was seen. I was seen ten minutes after I arrived. The woman who did my gel set was awesome! She took into consideration that I have Rheumatoid arthritis in my right hand. She was very careful, attentive and friendly. I moved up here from the central Illinois area, and I didn’t know where’s to get my nails done. Now I have found the perfect salon for me. Thank you for the service.

A friend and I went here because we had heard a lot of hype about it. When we got there, the place was packed. We didn’t make appointments because we were told they accept walk-​ins. I was told to pick a color and wait (I just wanted a regular manicure). My friend, who wanted a gel mani, got to sit at the pedicure chair, and someone did her nails over there. That was kind of odd. By the time I had gotten to see someone, she was halfway done with her nails. The gentleman who did my nails made them a little crooked (he filed them in a square shape), and the paint on some of them didn’t reach the exact side of my nails. He was polite and we had a good conversation, but the odd thing was that he told me that he didn’t want to stay in the nail business forever. I found that to be a turn-​off.
The thing that I did like about Magic Nails was the fact that the nail tech used a fresh, just-​opened set of tools on my hands. That was really nice. However, the nail polish I picked was old; the actual polish was very thick, and it was difficult for the tech to gather on the brush. The process was very in-​and-​out, and I feel as though I was making the tech do my nails when he didn’t want to.
Overall, I wouldn’t go to this place again. I’d prefer to go to a place that didn’t make me feel like I was on an assembly line.

I’ve been here a few times and decided to go for a quick no chip manicure. I left with bumps on my polish on both thumbs and hardened top coat under almost all of my nails.

I love this place! Very friendly and very CLEAN!
But because they are so awesome, it is ALWAYS very busy… so make sure you call ahead to make an appointment!

I was shopping and decided to give this place a try! I walked in without an appointment and was told to pick a color so I did. There were two girls who walked in after me and managed to get in before me, no they didn’t have appointments either… hmmm not sure what happened there!
Anyway, I was sat down and my tech barely said two words which is fine with me because I kinda like to relax and enjoy without be forced to converse. Anyway, the place is newer, busy and clean. The only reason why this is only getting a two is because I didn’t get the full service I paid for. I got a basic manicure which was $ 16.00 and states in their brochure that the price includes nail trim, shape, buff, cuticle grooming, WARM HOT LOTION MASSAGE, hit towel and polish. I felt rushed, it was sloppy and I didn’t even get the hand massage! I saw other customers even getting a shoulder rub too! When I was drying I asked for some lotion and the tech said «oh, you should have told me you needed some before the color went on»… I’m sorry, am I suppose to remind you what I’m suppose to get???
I have yet to find an inexpensive nail place that has quality service and is clean! I know you’re out there and I will not give up hope!

I went here because I had been shopping in the area and had little time to look for a place before going away on a trip the next day. I saw wonderful reviews on Unilocal and after a long day of errands with my mom I decided to treat her to a pedi, that I then got for myself as well, and a full set gel for myself.
The place was IMMACULATE in cleanliness, when it came time for my full set the man even pulled out a new bag of sanitized tools. However, the set was awful. He did my nails EXTREMELY thick as in I couldn’t open a pop can or pick up change off a counter for two weeks thick, and after curing them he noticed a mistake, filed it down leaving a scar on the smooth overlay, and covered it with nail polish. The polish bubbled up.
And also the place has probably the smallest selection of polishes I’ve witnessed, especially for a place that seems to cater to the «white suburban wealthy crowd.»
Two little girls were getting pricey mani/​pedis and took the colors I had been looking at, leaving me with a color I wanted to change as soon as I got home. I can’t believe I paid over $ 40 dollars for such a horrible job. I was to say, however, that pedicure WAS very nice and three weeks later still looks great, the chairs were a bit intense in massage settings and sadly I’m too tall to really enjoy the areas that it worked on the most, but that’s on me. I hadn’t left the house planning on a pedi so unfortunately I was wearing tight jeans which made the calf massage less enjoyable.
I will never go back, I was so upset and felt like I had wasted good money when I could have gone somewhere else if I had more time, paid half and gotten much better results.

This is my new go-​to spot for no-​chip manis. This is by far the best place in the La Grange area as far as nail services go. They have a huge selection for the no-​chip colors, and my last mani lasted almost 3 weeks. (There was a lot of outgrowth, but no actual chips on the manicure, so it was still passable.)
The salon is super clean, they use new in the package tools for my service, and the technicians are nice and make friendly conversation. All in all a great experience.
Plus the place is CRAZY busy, so clearly the popularity of the location speaks for itself. Unless you show up super early in the morning or don’t mind waiting, you’ll want to make an appointment.

I was a little worried when I walked in because the place looked packed but then I realized they have about 10 – 12 pedicure stations! They took me right away on a Saturday afternoon! Great!
One turn off was the chemical smell upon walking in. I am pregnant so it was really overwhelming for me. I know it really can’t be helped but it was super strong!
$ 30 for a spa pedicure — they have upgrades you can add but I think the regular spa pedicure does the trick. Their chairs are really comfortable and even recline!
The guy who did my pedicure was through yet fast! They also give long massages! Everything was sterile. I’ll definitely be back!
TIPS:
— Parking on the weekends can be a bit difficult as it’s in a busy strip mall
— They take credit or cash but can’t add tip on your card so make sure to bring some cash for tip!
