As part of a round-the-US road trip, I read about the Loess Hills Scenic Byway as something worth seeing in Iowa. Having driven through Utah and Colorado, it was definitely underwhelming. The corn fields were all dried up when I went(in October) which made it even less picturesque. The drive itself was OK, but I found a short«out and back» hike in the Loess hills that ended up in the woods that wasn’t too bad.
