I don’t know why even I’m writing review about this place. Compare to other feed store, price is higher. The owner have no sense of customer service. They look gurmpy all the time. The only reason I keep going is it is next to my property. Just to be precise, i have been buying things in this place for past twenty years. And I things has not changed. Same grumpy owner as if we are there to get things for free. Amazing and then you talk about immigrants taking over the business. Smile little bit. It helps. One star for the owners and other star for nice lovely ladies working in the counter.

After dropping by this place, ask yourself if they love animals. Or you would like to BE one of the animals they house.

Limited selection, higher prices and they SHOULD NOT be carrying animals. This place is crowded inside and looks live a hovel outside. Animals are kept in cages that are disgusting, are overcrowded and not protected from the elements. I’m shocked they haven’t been cited by Animal Control. There are much better options for pet and livestock owners than this place!

This place is terrible. The animals are treated so poorly. It made girlfriend cry. The bunnies and chickens are kept in such tiny cages and chicks are bundled together by the dozens. Terrible, terrible place. ⁰⁄₁₀ would never recommend, unless I’m recommending shutting it down.

Don’t buy chicks from this place! Horrible conditions that the animals live in. Yesterday my husband bought me 2 chicks and by the time we got home one had died! When my husband went back they didn’t give him a refund or a new chick. He had to purchase another chick. Not right and the people didn’t even care that she had died!!! Won’t EVER get chicks from this place again. Go to Rivertown in Petaluma if you want chicks. They care about their chicks and stand behind the health of them too Just sad!

Larsen’s should be shut down by the ASPCA. Animals are mistreated, owners don’t want to hear about the abuse and won’t do anything about it. While I like to support local business I would rather go to PetSmart than here. Dirty, disgusting and abusive to animals. Please don’t shop here.

This place was like something out of a nightmare.
When I drove up the driveway, I was thrown off by all the ramshackle broken down furniture and junk everywhere — I wasn’t even sure where I was supposed to park.
As I approached the front door, I saw a stack of wire cages, some with rabbits, some with chickens and other small birds (quail/​guinea fowl?).
The rabbits had very long nails (aka, they are not being handled and groomed), and one of the rabbits’ water bottles was completely empty. The rabbits did not have hay, which is essentially to their digestion. Each rabbit was alone in a small wire cage, with no resting boards, no enrichment, a big bowl of pellets, resting on wire (which is bad for their feet, they can get infected).
Three chickens were crowded in a small wire cage (smaller than what they’d get in a factory farm, actually) and had stepped on their waterer and knocked it over so they had no water on a warm day.
I alerted the staff to the lack of water for the rabbit & chickens.
A lot of the merchandise inside is old and dusty — a lot of it looked like it had been on the shelf for years.
As I was leaving, one of the employees was assisting a customer buying quail/​guinea fowl — they were loading them into a cardboard box with holes punched in the side. The cardboard box was a D-​Con box — aka, the toxic rodenticide that the EPA has been trying to ban due to poisonings of children and non-​target animals — I don’t know if the box was the store’s or the customer’s.
There was a disgustingly muddy small paddock with a bunch of cows — they should have had acreage for that number of cows, but instead they’re sitting in filth and churning up mud. No shade. I can only guess they must be raising them to sell at auction for slaughter.
We ran out of hay at home a few months ago, and in desperation bought a bale of Timothy from Larsen’s — the hay was filled with what I first thought were weird stringy dirt clods… turned out they were dried out cowpies all throughout the bale of hay, potentially putting my animals at risk of contracting disease. I have never seen that in a bale of hay at any of the other places I buy hay — it was the worst quality hay I have ever purchased.
Please, please, don’t spend your money at stores that sell animals and that keep animals in poor conditions like this.

Horrible service!!! All 3 times I went in there had to deal with a super rude girl. When I was pregnant I went in to pick up a 50# bag of rabbit pellets and I was told that I would have to carry it out myself because the girl behind the counter couldn’t do it for me! I was soooooooooo angry i turned around and walked out. went back again on another trip hoping for it to be a better one. this time i bought a heat pad for my reptile cage. when i got it home a realized that it wasn’t going to work out i decided to return it the next day. this time i was told that they have never sold them and that i must have bought it somewhere else. Really people get your heads out of your ass and hire some good employees!!!

I went by this place on July 4^th to look for a leash for our dog. We were out of town and had lost his leash. I took a little walk around the property since they were closed for the holiday. I discovered a very small enclosure filled with male and female peacocks. It made me very sad to see these beautiful birds confined to such small quarters with barely room to move around in the blazing heat. It appeared that they were intentionally placed in an area where the public would not see them.

Okay, I just found this place and I was very impressed. They have everything you could possibly need for your home/​smaller farm. I went in to get some chickens and the staff was very, very knowledgeable and friendly. They were very eager to help me out. I walked out with a bunch of chickens and supplies. Prices were very reasonable and they keep a good inventory of everything. Chickens, livestock, dogs, different bird varieties… they have it all. Definitely worth a trip out there if you are near this area. Just be careful that you don’t run over their dog or any of the animals free grazing in the «parking lot.»

Larsen’s has everything from hay to bird seed and saddles to kitty boxes. They have a very respectable tack area and are priced better than Jay Palms (albeit Jay’s is much fancier in appearance and Jay’s stuff is very high quality). They have educational books and wormers, too.
The staff has always been quite nice to deal with and ready to assist with the larger orders.
I like Larsen’s.
