History

Established in 2013.

While working as an acupuncturist and Qualified Medical Evaluator for injured workers, Marc Velez, L.Ac. realized the desperate need for affordable access to acupuncture. Typical acupuncture treatments range in cost from $ 65 to $ 150 per session, making it difficult for folks with a tight budget to take advantage of this wonderful form of corrective and preventive medicine. Cotati Community Acupuncture was opened to make it easy and affordable for almost anyone from students to retirees to benefit from this natural form of healthcare without insurance approvals or tons of paperwork.

Business Owner

Marc Velez is a California Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist serving Sonoma County.

Marc uses a combination of acupuncture, herbal therapy and therapeutic massage to provide synergistic relief from pain while restoring function and boosting the body’s innate healing mechanisms using a safe, natural approach.

Interested in Chinese medicine since High School, Marc left Santa Rosa in 2005 to pursue a Master’s Degree at the highly-​acclaimed Five Branches Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Santa Cruz. There, he spent over 3200 hours of intensive study including Western medicine, massage, dietetics and Chi Kung in addition to acupuncture and herbal medicine.

In 2010, Marc returned to Sonoma County with a simple mission: To provide safe, natural and effective healthcare to as many people as possible offering both private and group acupuncture treatments as well as herbal consultations and Tui-​Na massage.
