Unique Car Wash & Auto Detailing

My wife and I have been coming here for awhile now. The service of Vic and his team has always impressed us. Pricing is great for a full service, all hand wash, car care facility. And, since keeping our black cars clean looking is a tough job (especially during the summer), Unique always puts the shine back to their sheen. Great location close to the 405 freeway and shopping at Metro Point or South Coast Plaza. Give them a try and you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

I decided to try this place out because of the great reviews from other Unilocal users and was expecting to be beyond satisfied. I should have listened to other one /​two star reviews. The exterior of my car looked nice at first. After taking a closer look I noticed that there were random spots of gunk on my car and that my driver mirror was dirty. Also, there was a leftover pink residue from some sort of cleaning product all over my windshield wipers. I let that go thinking that I was over reacting, but that wasn’t the case. I got my interior detailed because my seats had a few stains that were a huge eyesore. Now, to be fair, Vic was able to get the stains out, BUT it’s been two days now and my seats smell like wet clothes that had been left in a bag for days. You know that smell? It’s disgusting. I’ve aired out my car, I’ve added Febreeze, I’ve left my car in the sun and nothing works to get the smell out.
So, to all those people out there like me who are on the fence about choosing this business, don’t go here. Listen to those one and two star reviews because if I would have listened, my car wouldn’t smell like a damp, dirty towel right now.

I took my car here when I first purchased it, as I wanted it to be thoroughly cleaned inside and out. I dropped my car off in the afternoon and just got a standard detail of the whole car. It took about three hours, as there were others waiting as well, but when I picked my car up I was very happy with how it turned out. My car smelled fresh, the seats were nice and clean, and the outside sparkled. I could tell that he had taken the time to do it right and had even done some extra things to make it look nice.
I recently went back to get my car detailed again, as I like to treat myself to that every once in awhile. This time he suggested that I get a wax, as it helps the paint last longer if you do it about once a year and it will leave my car shiny. I was hesitant but he assured me I wouldn’t be disappointed. Again, it took about three hours. I went to pick up my car and, just as he said, there was definitely a noticeable difference. That was about a month ago and my car is still super shiny and clean. I would recommend this business to anyone. They know how to do their job and take pride in doing it right. I’ll surely be back.

First off, let me say that Vic was awesome with his customer service. I missed an appointment early last weekend but was able to schedule during the week.
The interior/​exterior detail job took roughly 2 ½ hours to complete and it made my jeep look like it just came off the lot.
I live right across the street and will be using Vic and his team for now on.

Great car wash! A few things about this car wash
Quality work: there are no missed spots. The crew pays attention to detail and do a fantastic job
Location: parking garage of metro pointe. Eat, shop, watch a movie, etc… while you wait
Price: very comparable to other garage car wash services.
I trust them and they’ve earned repeat business from me

«Are these guys magicians that make things disappear? Yes! I majorly scratched the left mirror and the front door body panel going into a parking garage, it was so bad that I thought I had to take it to a body shop for FOR SURE, but took it to Vic just to see. My first time ever getting my car detailed and I’m so glad that I did! Completely worth the money I spent to have my car come out looking practically new again :’)
This place came highly recommended by some of my friends so I decided to try it out and now I can see why!
I called to make an appointment and Vic was also nice enough to give me detailed instructions on how to get there (in a parking lot in the structure)
I was only going to get my interior cleaned at first but he convinced me to get a full detail at a great price that I couldn’t pass up. My car was pretty filthy inside due to eating in the car, dog hair, dirt, etc. the exterior also had a lot of random scuffs and scratches and he assured me he could buff it out and make it almost as if it had never happened!
He was right– when I came to pick up my car, I couldn’t believe my eyes! My car was shiny and super smooth to the touch due to the clay. All of my mats had been cleaned and shampooed and the interior was spotless.
He also helped me clean my engine and the headlights!
So happy that I came to unique and I would highly recommend this place to anyone else who needs a good detail :)

This place is one of the good hand car wash place out there. The location is awesome, tons of things to do while you wait. Staff is good but the owner/​manager is really good and friendly. I would definitely make recommend this place for all your car wash/​detailing needs.

My husband has been bringing our cars here since we moved back to Irvine one year ago. These guys are awesome! I commute from OC to LA every day and my car had not been washed in over six months. These guys were able to clean out all of the inside of my car, shampoo it, dry it out, put wax on it, etc. in about half a day. I don’t know too much about cars but except for some scratches that they obviously can’t take out, they did a very good job! Same thing with my husband’s car. It got egged one day and we were at a loss as to how to get the egg off before damaging the paint. We took the car in and Unique made it nice and clean in just a few hours! I have a little black pug who sheds everywhere (literally– I find his hair inside my freezer sometimes) and they cleaned my car with such care that there was absolutely no hairs to be found anywhere. I appreciate their attention to detail.
We will surely continue to bring our car here and you should try them out too!

I prefer washing my car myself so I know that I’m not neglecting any areas and because I have wheels with many spokes (typically car wash places are lazy and don’t clean each one). Since I can’t wash my car myself at my place, I’ve come here twice and I’m very happy with the results.
The location is a little strange, but go into the parking garage as if you’re going into Metro Pointe and follow signs for the hand car wash. I don’t mind this since I will go walk around the area and do some light shopping while my car is getting clean.
The owner is very kind and we always chat after. This past time, he noticed a scratch and buffed it right out for me! We also walked around the car to see if there was anything else he could take care of. I will continue to come here!

My friend told me to come here said they are good. When I came here, there’s a guy, Vic, came to me and ask what do I need, then he told me the best way and price to clean up my car. I didn’t realize that it’s cash only, but Vic was so nice that take me to ATM.
I feel just like get my brand-​new car again! He is a really nice guy and offer the very good service. Highly recommend !

I have been here many times and this auto detailing is by far the best in OC. Tried other places, price is phenomenal and the job is outstanding believe me when I say this you get the best for your money just ask Vik he will take good care of you. Be patient this shop is very busy and don’t believe all the crap people talk about him, you just need to get to know him, hands down best auto detailing in Orange County thank you Vik for your hard work. Came by for a wash and wax yesterday and was really disappointed with the results. Normally I get a near perfect wash here but was definitely let down. Tires weren’t clean, lots of dirt still on corners and nooks of the exterior, mats were dirty. On top of that I noticed oily marks on my brand new leather. Windows weren’t that clean either. I paid $ 50 for the wash and wax. When handing over $ 60 (in twenties) I was asked if I needed change. Business tip: always hand change back, never ask. Also, this place is cash only which sucks because you have to go to the ATM and incur fees if you don’t already have Wells Fargo. So I end up paying an extra $ 5 to get money out. I think this will be my last time here.

I hadn’t gotten a car wash in years and my car was literally disgusting.
I showed up at 10:30am hoping Vik could get the job done by noon and he took one look at my car and said yeah no… This is going to take longer LOL.
He was kind enough to invite me back at 2 so he could give my car the deep cleaning it desperately needed. He was done in about 2 – 3 hours and OMG. He somehow made my headlights gleam again and the interior of my car looked brand new. He also cleaned the engine under the hood!
Will definitely return /​recommend to a friend. Also the location is conveniently located next to south coast so you can get some retail therapy in while your car is getting detailed!
Price is very fair for the beautiful job that is done. Five stars!!!

With nearly 600 reviews at a five stars, Unique car wash was far from unique. I’d like to give these guys the benefit of the doubt and maybe they «can’t keep up with their success»
First off this place was hard to find. I spent 20 minutes circling and saw a very small sign maybe it is my small eyes :-/​so
I originally went in for a simple wax and wash and walked out with an upsell go the exterior detail. I figured hey these guys have been reputable so I’ll trust the guy and pay more.
At this point I expected «detail» oriented care for my Tesla Model S. I mean wouldn’t it be what we all should expect with these glowing reviews below.
My expectations fell short of the product. I didn’t have much time to comb over the car before I paid and left. At first it seemed just fine and sparkly. But since this location is enclosed under a parking structure. It was truly hard to tell.
While driving away, I found the seats weren’t wiped and stuff that waas glaringly easy to clean. Then as soon as I got out the wheels didn’t look as spotless and looked careless and haphazard. Black spots around the car from what I believe was the clay. The nosecone wasn’t tended to with dead bug juice.
I spent an extra 30 minutes cleaning up before I take my car back out today.
I guess I should have stuck to cleaning and washing my car myself but wasn’t the point to save to and effort?
I should have listened to my gut about attention to detail when I couldn’t find the sign.
Sorry readers for the should haves and the complaint. I’m usually not this negative but hate feeling taken advantage of.

I should have noted and asked or read that it was cash only fortunately I had barely enough to just pay him otherwise my car would have been held hostage.
Who knows maybe this was all a fluke and they were understaffed and had many cars to take care of st 930am.

Went here because of ratings from Unilocal.I drove over to their spot on a random day and asked Vic if he could give my car the exterior detail which included the wash, clay, wax and floor mats. I know they have a deal going on if it’s your first time you’ll get a 20% discount for the exterior detail (valued at $ 95). Vic said he couldn’t honor it because my car required extra work such as buffing. But isn’t that the process of waxing includes? Anyways, that wasn’t a deal breaker to me. He did say he would do my engine bay free of charge so that basically makes up the difference of the 20% discount. We set up an appointment for Saturday at 1230.
Saturday came and I came on time. Gave Vic my keys and he asked if I had a ride because it was going to take awhile. So I walked around the shopping area, went to Barnes and nobles and read some magazines. It was 4:15 when I received a call. So you can do the math, they put a lot of time into it. So you can either get picked up or watch a movie or read a ton of magazines while you’re waiting.
So onto the the good stuff. My car looked extra glossy when I came to pick it up. They did a tremendous job on the clay barring because my paint felt as smooth as silk! My wheels were free of brake dust and my rotors even looked clean. They were also able to remove some of the scratches I had on the hood of my car, which is a huge plus because I had intentions on selling my car. Vic said, «post it for an additional $ 500!» Well that’s what I did!
So you’re probably wondering why I gave a ⁴⁄₅ and not a ⁵⁄₅. Well for one, I wish they honored the 20% discount as advertised. Also, I noticed some of the wax residue on my window visors, and in some crevices of my car. Also, there were some streak marks around the car, but that wasn’t a huge deal. I was able to clean it off with a car detailer and micro fiber towel. Overall, I got my money’s worth. If I could, I would’ve given it a 4.5÷5 but Unilocal doesn’t give you that choice. So would I recommend going here again? I would say yes for the price point. Thanks Vic & co.
