TLC Day Spa

Last minute massage for a crazy muscle tension headache. A bit expensive for 30 mins. (no time for a full hour… nor a pounding headache on the 4^th o July). LyLy was awesome! She really gave my my muscles the attention/​strength/​healing warmth needed for relief. I’ll be back… maybe tomorrow.

Now that some really amazing employees are no longer at this establishment I will never come back.

Do not waste your time or money here!!! The fact that they didnt honor the groupon rate they had out and that i even called to confirm with them about it before i showed is bad enough, but for the lack of professionalism, the refusal to do things to make me comfortable during the massage or waxing. Like literally I kept thinking I was on candid camera. How on earth is this place open? The guy after me was almost angry that she wasn’t ready for him and I felt like he was there for some shady massage action. Disgusting. The 2 women were fighting like children when I got there and during my massage, things were dropped, ignored, loud, unrelaxing, horrible waxing job, horrible massage. Then I was charged 40 dollars above their advertised services!!! She tried to cheat me to get the difference from the groupon? That wasn’t even honored? This place is going down fast. Eew.

Everyone was really nice and helpful so I would rate the customer service ¹⁰⁄₁₀. However, the actual massage was the worst and the facial was average. I have gotten many massages in my life but today’s massage was nothing that I have experienced before. I don’t think she was license trained masseuse. As for the esthetician she did a good job but she spend a lot of time massaging me instead of doing the facial. I have also gotten many facials and most of the time they spend doing the actual facial. I would not bother coming here again.
I was going to give them a 3 our 5 because they were so polite but there technique sucked! But they responded so negative to my living social that there goes the polite great customer service stars.
By the way they HATE to deal with living social, groupon, and amazon customers so just don’t bother. Maybe this explains the bad massage and average facial.

I had a living social coupon for a massage and facial. The staff was very nice but it was the worst massage and facial I’ve ever had. It wasn’t terrible or anything but definitely not even worth the discounted coupon price. It was also not a very relaxing environment.

TERRIBLE! Who yells at a pregnant lady over the phone?!
I was calling about the groupon they have right now. I needed to make sure they would be able to accommodate me for a prenatal massage and I asked if I could skip the sauna since I can’t do a sauna 7 months pregnant. The girl on the phone seemed very nice and said she needed to ask someone to make sure that would be ok. I proceeded to hear the entire conversation between the owner and the girl who answered the phone. The owner is yelling at this girl saying «why did you tell her we can do a prenatal massage?!» and «everyone has to do the sauna!». The girl was trying to tell her that I just wanted to make sure I could skip it and do a prenatal massage instead, but she just kept yelling at her, took the phone away from her apparently and started yelling at me! She said «Everyone does the sauna!» and I just hung up. I didn’t call to be harassed. This lady was nuts, whoever she is and I’ll definitely NEVER be coming here.

CJ was the best, was referred by a co-​worker he listened to the where I had a problem and focused on that area walked out feeling great.
Didn’t have any pain let alone a headache the next day… thank you!

Went here because I was given a groupon for a 30 minutes infrared sauna, 60 minute aromatherapy massage, and a 55 minute European facial. There were some pros and cons.
Pros:
–Relaxing atmosphere
–Friendly staff
–Facialist, Jenna, did an awesome job. My face was literally glowing.
–Masseuse, Tina, was communicative during the massage. Asked me about the pressure and stuff.
–Nice facility
–Sauna is well appointed
Cons:
–I was only given 25 minutes in the sauna
–Had to remind the masseuse about the aromatherapy part of the massage
–An employee opened the door to my sauna while I was practically naked and didn’t even apologize (very uncomfortable)
–The robe they gave me didn’t fit that well, so my downstairs was exposed. I held a towel in front of myself when walking about.
–The towels are way too hot
Good place overall, but would probably only come back for the facial.

Never judge a book by it’s cover. Seriously. I was feeling ok about my appointment at the TLC Day Spa, and when I parked and saw the place in a tiny strip mall I was a little skeptical, but man was I impressed! The new management here has really turned this place around from what it looks like!
The sauna was cool (I’m so not a sauna person), but to me it was just a little bonus added on to my 2 hours of pampering. :)
My 60 min. aromatherapy massage was with Laura and she is INCREDIBLE! Wow… I had so many knots in my shoulders and my back was stiff and tired and I just recovered from a knee injury going into it. I’m pretty Laura got rid of every knot and I felt like I was walking on air after she was finished with me. Super talented girl they have there!
My 60 min. facial with Jenna topped everything off beautifully. I’ve never had such a thorough, extensive, relaxing and cleansing facial in my life! She definitely has a gift! Everything felt and smelled wonderful and I couldn’t have had a better experience. My skin is positively glowing!
I fully agree with Priscilla V’s review… 100%. Definitely give this place a try. You will be pleasantly surprised (and relaxed) by your experience. ;) It’s a little diamond in the rough!

I was a little skeptical about coming to this place because of some of the reviews. However, I was amazed by the service. I bought a groupon for a 30 min sauna session, 1hr aromatherapy massage, and 1hr european facial.
1. Sauna was simple. You’re in a small dry wooden sauna by yourself for 30 minutes. They have magazines, cold water, and music in there for you which was really nice.
2. Massage by Laura Nguyen was AMAZING. She asked where I wanted to be worked on, and made sure that everything was okay multiple times throughout my massage. I loved how she found knots in my back and made an effort to loosen them up. One of the best massages I’ve had. Plus, she complimented me on my skin and whatnot, which was nice ;)
2. Facial by Jenna Cassidy was also amazing. I think I was so relaxed at one point that I fell asleep, only to be awaken by her asking if everything was okay. There was never any down time. If a mask was put on that needed some time to sit, she would give me a shoulder, arm, or even FOOT massage. My skin looked great afterwards. I wish I knew what products were used as a lot of different products were put on my face.
I definitely had an amazing experience, but I can imagine it being dependent on who you get to do your services. I definitely recommend giving this place a chance. I think they’ve worked hard to improve there services because my experience was nothing like some of the bad reviews on here. Enjoy!

I purchased a Groupon to this place for $ 60 for infrared sauna, 60 min aromatherapy massage and 55 min European facial. What you pay is what you get.
1. The session starts with the sauna. It was clean and nice, but you sit 30 min in 131 F heat in the sauna, you come out covered with dripping sweat and you are not given an opportunity to take a shower, you go straight to massage and all the sweat will be covered with massage oil and later you will put your clean clothes on all that stuff.
2. the promised 60 min massage lasted 45 minutes with the masseuse stepping out of the room several times to get something (the oil?). The masseuse hardly speaks English. She does not understand the customer and is very hard to understand what she is try to say. She asked me if I have had any surgeries. I replied yes, I had a C-​section. Masseuse: oh ok on your back! Me: (stunned) no I had my c-​section on the lower abdomen…
When it was time to turn from belly to the back, the masseuse actually grabbed my feet and pulled my whole body towards her to adjust me to a better position, that actually hurt. She however laughed and said something about me being very light.
When the massage ended I felt the urge to leave, but since I had already paid for the Groupon I decided to stay and hoped that the facial will be a better experience. Sadly it was even worse.
3.Facial began with cleansing. That was followed by exfoliation which culminated with sponge cleaning off the residue. In the middle of sponge cleansing the beautician asked me if I want my mascara and eyelid make-​up removed. It was an odd timing since she was already finishing exfoliation, but after a thought I said «yes». She then proceeded to clean my eyes with that same exfoliating sponge. When I asked her to stop she switched the sponge to a q-​tip and scraped (that is how it felt) all over my eyes and eyelids with that. She then proceeded with the face massage with and unknown product. While massaging my face she repeatedly included the eyes in the massage. I asked to skip the eyes as commonly eyes are not included in such procedures due to the product getting into the eye. That request got ignored. I had to repeat it. After the second request she stopped and began rubbing what seemed like a new product on my eyes. While in the middle of doing that she asked if I want eye cream. And I said no. She then proceeded to clean my eyes with a tissue. At that point I knew I had to get out of there and I asked her to stop the whole procedure and explained that I would like to leave. She then left the room. I was getting dressed when and Asian woman opened the door to the room (no knocking) and asked if I was ok. When I said that I had a horrible experience she continued to stare at me, all the while I was getting dressed, without saying anything further. I had to ask her to leave so I can finish getting dressed.
4. When I was leaving the premises the masseuse/​facial lady followed me on the parking lot to my car yelling at me over the parking lot «all this will come back to you, you are a bad customer». She repeated these words several times. She was very angry and I became concerned for my safety and got into the car and locked the doors. The Asian woman had followed and began then to bang on my car window. I was able to crab my phone and take pictures of the scene.
Horrible place and horrible unprofessional service.

I was so surprised by everything this spa had to offer. The atmosphere was so relaxing and zen and the staff has such an uplifting spirit about them. Super positive and accommodating. The massage therapists are genius! Jeremy is absolutely wonderful. I just loved the time I spent there. You must go!

I wish I could leave separate reviews for the services I got. I got a groupon deal for a infrared sauna, massage, and facial. The sauna was fine I’ve never done one before so I wish I was given some instruction.
The massage I would have given a 4 or 4 ½ Laura was amazing she did a great job and at the beginning was really communicative with me and asked where I wanted the focus to be and how much pressure I would like. She was wonderful.
The facial was a completely different story. I would give that no stars if that were possible. So when you look at what is included in a facial you get a skin analysis (didn’t get), exfoliation (I think I got, it was hard to tell nothing she put on felt exfoliating), extraction (didn’t get and was looking forward to), steam (got this), customized face mask (I got a mask it certainly was not customized), also includes massage of face neck shoulders hands and arms (got a face massage and maybe a minute or two on my shoulders that’s it). During the facial itself it was really uncomfortable. I think the lady’s name was Tracy she didn’t introduce herself but my appointment confirmation said it would be Tracy. She kept rubbing different lotions and stuff on me which was fine but that is literally all she did for 90% of the facial and more than once it got to the point where the lotion was drying out and my face was starting to feel really uncomfortable. She also kept rubbing the stuff way to close to my eyes. Even after she finished and wiped everything off my face my eyes were starting to water because of the lotion that got in them. It took the whole 15 minute drive home for my eyes to somewhat stop.
So at the end of this all I still tip them and I ask about the customized lotion that is included per the groupon and on the email they sent me and the girl at the front looks at me and says there isn’t lotion. So I open my phone and say that that is what the groupon said and trailed off. She didn’t reply to that so I just left not wanting to argue.
So maybe don’t say things are included when they really aren’t? Not just the lotion but the facial service is also falsely advertised. I suppose if you go in for just a massage you should be okay but I wouldn’t recommend this place for anything else and I definitely won’t be coming back.

Hydroponic steam showers, sauna, full wet room for body scrubs, and two incredible guys (CJ and Jeremy) doing massages and facials, respectively. I’ve followed CJ to TLC, and I think it’s under new ownership. You will absolutely love your time here.

I found this place with an Amazon Daily deal and was a little nervous about going to an unknown place. I was happily surprised by a clean, aesthetically pleasing small boutique spa. The massage therapist was EXCELLENT and the facialist Tanya is very nice. I was a member of Massage Envy for 3 years and this massage therapist was just as good or even BETTER than any I had there. (Jessica) I found that the prices cannot beat for a 1 hour massage and 1 hour facial (2 hours total time!) for $ 65 total and this is the price they said they could give me any time I would like to come in. Yes, it’s not a 5 star establishment like Burke Williams, but it’s sure good for the price and the people make you feel like you are special and they are there to make you happy and appreciate your business.
Clean, modern and very available with appointments. Definitely give it a try!

I have had good massages at TLC. The place is clean, and the people are very nice. They are always willing to accommodate last minute appointments, which is great. I would recommend this business, and the prices can’t be beat!

Bought a gift card for valentines day for my partner and I. The only issue I had was they never called to confirm my appointment and when I called they had me down for wrong time. Once we got there the service was great and the spa is very clean. I will definitely go back. I have made an appt for ear candling for next week. I would recommend this day spa and take advantage of their specials on services.

I was looking for a new place in Costa Mesa to get my eye brows down and I tried out TLC day spa it is in a very convenient location right off the 55 freeway. The woman who did my eye brows was so nice and personable. It was quick and efficient I did not have to wait and I was in n out of there within 15 min and very happy. It is the same price as regular nail places too and much nicer on the inside than any other spa I’ve been in. Love tlc and I will defiantly be returning to try out different services.

DO NOT GO TO THIS SPA!!!
I had $ 120 dollars stolen from my purse when getting a body scrub and the owner was so rude and would not replace it, even after me and my fiancé spent $ 300 that day getting treatments!
