The Music Factory School of Music is Orange County’s coolest music school. We help students of all ages and abilities to experience the exhilaration and joy of playing music. We offer the best in guitar, voice, drum and piano lessons as well as DJ classes.

Our unique program allows you to take private lessons, play in bands, attend clinics and seminars and study music theory, all for one low monthly tuition — you get all of that for what other people charge just for a private lesson!

History

Established in 2006.

The Music Factory School of Music was the brainchild of Danny Thompson and J. Anthony Riedelsheimer. The two both worked at Guitar Center for many years before deciding to branch out on their own. The Music Factory was started under the premise that «Life is better when you play music» and the staff at The Music Factory is committed to helping their students experience the positive benefits of playing music.

Business Owner

Danny Thompson is the owner of The Music Factory School of Music. He is also the drummer for the iconic punk band, Face to Face. He has toured the world, appeared on love line with Doctor Drew and can be heard on KROQ daily. He has also been featured in DRUM Magazine. The Music Factory is a way for Danny to bring his knowledge of music to people of all ages and backgrounds. He truly believes that life is better when you play music and he hopes to share that with as many people as possible.

I loved taking lessons at this place. The teacher was fantastic. She was always very flexible with changing times and music that really fit my style! Not only that, but she also offered me voice lessons if I wanted to sing with my music. I appreciate that the teachers are multi-​talented and welcoming. The recitals are even a blast. Much better than the stuffy recitals I had as a child.

We have really enjoyed our experience with the team of musical professionals at The Music Factory in Costa Mesa. Our son started taking drum lessons about a year ago and our daughter is now taking piano lessons there too. We’re very happy with the progress they’re making. The quality of instruction is top-​notch and the management and instructors are as nice as can be. In an age where customer service is often lacking, it’s refreshing to truly get what you pay for … service and expertise!

It’s hard to find a business with integrity in today’s world. The Music Factory is definitely in the minority. So much so that I was motivated to leave my first Unilocal review! My daughter took singing lessons here and we had to end for financial reasons. Although we had already paid and taken one lesson in the month, I explained our situation and we received a complete refund. The lessons we received up until our departure were professional and organized and I was impressed with the knowledge of my daughter’s teacher. I would highly recommend The Music Factory as would my many friends that continue to take lessons here!

My daughter, Kaelyn, takes voice lessons from Alison here and she is an amazing coach! Not only did she teach her to sing using the correct muscles to sing correctly and soar vocally but she was very professional as well as very nice and accommodating. The place is nice and has lots of rooms to have lessons in. Danny was very easy going and wonderful to deal with. All in all, we are very satisfied with The Music Factory and would definitely recommend it!

I am an experienced guitarist that skipped over the basics. I started lessons about 2 months ago and I am stoked on what I learned! Corey is an awesome coordinator and Tyler is an excellent teacher. Even though my schedule is tight and practice time is tighter, I am learning faster than I could have ever imagined. Thank you Tyler and music factory! Highly recommend

Awesome Staff! This has been the third studio that I have taken lessons from and hands down they are the best. The pricing is in-​line, if not better, but it’s the teachers that make this a truly enjoyable experience. They have structure but at the same time cater to exactly what you want to do. I would recommend this place to everyone in the nearby area.

The Music Factory is AWESOME! I take drum lessons with Anthony, one of the co owners and that guy is just great! Great teacher and is very helpful! I also take band classes with Matt, band class is seriously amazing. I can’t recommend it enough! Matt is a really cool guy who will make sure you get the most out of your tuition. At only $ 69 a month (it’s $ 69 if you take individual instrument lessons) and it’s one hour a week it’s seriously a great deal. I can’t recommend the Music Factory enough! The whole staff is just super friendly. If you’re skeptical I think they offer a free trial lesson, go give it a try!

Professionals — every one of them! We have had our kids study at the Music Factory for almost a year. We have taken advantage of private Drum Lessons, Vocal Lessons and the Pop Star Camp.
Your lesson experience begins with organized management, email class reminders, auto pay options and great communication. Lessons start on time, instructors are prepared and your child will know what exactly to do during the week for practice. This is not your average lesson house!
I am thrilled that my 8 year old boy is learning to read music, has fun in his lessons, is learning fundamental skills and how they relate to the music he likes to listen to and finally is just plain inspired by his teacher Anthony.
My little DIVA is thoroughly challenged with her vocal coach Chelsea during each lesson and we get personalized notes emailed afterward to follow up on progress and reinforce what was taught. Chelsea is another fine example of dedication to her craft and paying it forward by teaching the next generation how to Rock!
We haven’t even touched all the programs that they offer but I look forward to seeing what comes next. Maybe mommy can take a mixing class???

The music factory is a tremendous school. My 10 year old has been taking lessons for almost two years and we cannot describe how incredible our teacher is. In addition to that the facility is top notch, the ownership is involved and caring, and the rest of the teaching staff seems to be of the highest quality. In addition to teaching, most of their instructors are accomplished active mussicians. They are able to offer their knowledge and experience. We would not go anywhere else!
