What a shame, it was really awesome and they had just about everything.

What a fun store, they pretty much have everything and anything you might be looking for. I went in looking for the impossible though; three matching, 50’s style airline stewardess outfits for a photo shoot. They didn’t have matching, but they did have old school stewardess outfits. The gentleman who worked there was so cool and helpful, he suggested a few places we might go to find our outfits and gave us ideas on how to dress them up.
I really appreciate good service, its hard to come by these days. I wish I could have given him business that day, but he definitely earned a loyal customer for the future. Thanks :)

They have a decent selection and friendly customer service, but be prepared to pay $ 80 dollars for a 2 day rental. I went with a friend, and my costume consisted of a tie, a shoddy jacket, some old worn out boots that were more like shoes, a shirt and a small top hat. and I payed 80 dollars plus a 150 dollar deposit.
My friend had a zip up astronaut costume with a large helmet that was made out of plastic. If he had bought his outfit at another place, it would have cost him a maximum of 40 dollars. He payed the SAME price as me. The owner of the shop had a weird vibe — when we returned our costumes the ignorant guy behind the counter said ‘Happy Hannakuh to us’. we are not Jewish and were weirded out by the comment. That sums up my experience.
Friendly customer service, Crazy expensive prices $$$$. If you want to pay 80 bucks for a 2 day rental, go here.

I rented a costume for a Halloween party. They have a large selection and were helpful in finding exactly what I needed. The help got me in and out of the store quickly.

these guys are awesome. totally had exactly what i needed in such short notice. especially when you’re looking for a baby blue 80’s prom tux with a matching ruffled shirt and bow tie. HUGE selection. i’ll definitely be going there again!!!

My husband and I were in need of costumes in May for a themed «Karaōke, Kostume and Kocktail» party. They idea was that you had to come dressed as your favorite childhood singer (s) and then perform their song Karaōke! So we were in search of Sonny and Cher! The Costume Connection had so many options it was difficult to choose! Either 70’s Cher or «Diva» Cher, including all her CRAZY outfits she wore! I chose «Indian» Cher!
They had everything for Sonny too, the wig, the mustache, the 70’s clothes, they were awesome! Clean and in great shape for rentals!

This is out of our way, but we heard the shop was closing and since we love to dance and most dancers go to several costume parties a year (you could go every night of the week just for Halloween alone), we decided to check it out.
Go now. We didn’t expect to find much given our unusual sizes. Still we spent $$$. More than we had planned.

I was on the search for a wig for my Halloween costume and came across The Costume Connection. Though I didn’t find exactly what I was looking for, I was pretty impressed with this place.
They have a HUGE collection of high quality costumes and accessories for sale and rent. Their staff is friendly and helpful, and though the place is small, its well organized and clean. This year I’m making my costume, but I think I’ll be back next year to rent something, because they’ve got some great costumes here! Service + inventory — two thumbs up for me (or 5 stars)

My search for a 60’s or 70’s theme costume took me from Dee Lux (very small selection for guys), to American Vintage near the pier (very little costume material), to Party City (a complete joke of a costume area, horrible selection of made in China kits) and finally to Costume Connection.
A true Mom & Pop shop (I met them both), I felt like I was in some warehouse of a Hollywood movie studio. There are tons of vintage outfits. Actual outfits, not cheap costume kits.
I was trying to compliment my wife’s 70’s outfit that she took from her mother’s attic. I got hooked up quite well (see photos).
Besides outfits, the have makeup, wigs, accessories and props. Very cool selection. Kind of pricey for an evening rental, but about the same price as a crappy plastic outfit purchase that you’d never wear again anyway.
This will be my go to place in the future.

This is THE place to go for fun wigs. Priced in the $ 20-​$ 38 dollar range the selection is awesome. There are even more wig styles than the ones you see on display. I got an auburn red fro for my next party. They even had some old school tube socks, the kind with 3 stripes on the top to go with my look. And the socks were only $ 2.50!!! Customer service here is great. I was really taking my time looking for the «right» wig-​feeling and the guy there was very patient and knowledgeable about the different wigs and their implications.
The selection of rent-​able costumes in back is fun and inspiring to look through. But I will likely be using the gift shop in the front which is more economical. Happy costuming!!!

After having my ear talked off by the owner of House of Humor down the road, I decided to check out one more place. Plus, it was so close — why not? As soon as I walked in I realized this was a true costume shop. They’re low on the gag gift end of things here, no giant «over-​the-​hill» bras, but just full of all sorts of costume stuff.
The staff here are relatively young and cool. And I barely had a chance to look around before one of the guys asked what I was looking for. When I informed him I was in search of an anchor charm, he showed me this necklace that couldn’t have been closer to what I was looking for… except that it cost $ 20. Eh — for a cheesy costume item for one day? Not so much.
But, they did have sailor hats… and waaay cheaper than House of Humor. Only $ 5 as opposed to $ 8 at House of Humor. I stocked up and got 5 of them. …hey, you never know when you might need a sailor hat, right? Plus, the guy was in the know, and recommended JoAnn for some cheapie anchor motif stuff. GENIUS! I’m actually ashamed I didn’t think of that first.
Plus, they’ve got loads and loads of rental costumes and all sorts of high end makeup and costume accessories. Come September I know where I’ll be prepping for Halloween costumes this year.

–A $ 20 cheesy anchor necklace? I think not.

I have to say this place is a bit on the expensive side, yet there have been many times over the years that I was searching for that «one thing» that was going to put my costume over the top… and after driving all over ended up here to find it. Sometimes you just have to kick down the extra bucks if you’ve got something particular in your head and the halloween section at Rite Aid ain’t gonna work for you.
They sell the usual halloween makeup, accessories, etc. and they also do rental. The rental is booked pretty far in advance so if you are planning to do that, hit them up end of August or September at the latest.
They sell the higher end make up like Ben Nye and stuff that won’t make you break out like a teenager because it is laden with crap.
So that’s it for my 99^th review. Costume Connection. Yep.
