The Bone Adventure

Great groomer and staff. My 2 dogs had fleas so they went in for a flea bath. My 65lb dog was $ 40 and my little 12lb dog was $ 25. They came back clean, soft, flea free, happy and with some sample flea repellent wipes. They even kept my dogs a little longer so I could fully clean my house with flea spray. Definitely will be coming back for grooming and boarding

The bone adventure is the best place in town to drop your dog off at. They are very caring people and true animal lovers.

This place is amazing! I took full advantage of their Webcam, and everytime I looked, there was a different staff member playing with my baby. It’s truly a daycare for dogs! They roam free playing with other dogs, they’re closely monitored by lots of qualified humans, they have beds and couches complete with comforters and pillows to provide all the comforts of home, they can cool off in the pool, eat a yummy snack, or lay in the sun and chew on their new found favorite toy. I felt completely satisfied leaving my pride and joy in their care, but was sad when I showed up to take her home, and she didn’t want to go:(

I just had my pug Milo stay here over the weekend for the first time, and I am SO impressed and happy with the service here! I got to see him on their webcam whenever I felt like it, and he was always being attentively watched over by someone. Everyone there is super friendly. and I am so happy I have somewhere to leave Milo in good hands!
I think my favorite part of the stay is reading all of the report cards he got. The whole thing kind of feels like leaving a child at overnight camp, which says a lot about the quality of care they give! I will DEFINITELY be coming back here whenever I go on a vacation or need someone to watch him for the day. I don’t think there are many other dog boarding facilities that will spoil and love your dog like they do at The Bone Adventure!

DO NOT take your dog to The Bone Adventure off Superior in Newport Beach. I went in to get my French Bulldogs nails trimmed and the groomer choked him out and wouldn’t let go when he was CLEARLY struggling. I had to sternly ask him to let go before he would. When he did let go, my dog was heaving and trying to catch his breathe. French Bulldogs have VERY sensitive throats — a groomer should know that and NEVER treat a dog like that. NOT COOL!!!

While I realize that I may be premature in writing this review, my first experience with Bone Adventure has been nothing short of amazing. The staff were super friendly and helpful when I checked my 5-​month old labradoodle, Chewie, in. While we were waiting, I could see the other dogs enjoying their time and each other. I will be surprised if Chewie even wants to come back to our house! Haha! This place is top notch. Every dog coming into the place was ecstatic to be there. Looking forward to having a place both Chewie and I like.

simply put: a dog’s version of heaven. Slides, pools, doggie friends, friendly staff, this place has it all.
Not to mention, I get to creep out on my puppy all day with the webcams:
My only words of advice: do not make the same mistake I made by taking your dog here (or to any large doggie day cares) when they are too young. Their immune systems isn’t up to fighting the normal things other digs can fight off. Once my little guy is a little bit older, we will become regulars once again!

Our dog (15 year old Shiba Inu) just enjoyed his 3 night boarding visit and grooming session at The Bone Adventure. This was a first visit for us and we all (including our dog Kobi) were thrilled with the excellent service and care. Our dog had a little stomach upset due to some medicine he was on and they promptly made him a bowl of rice to ease his stomach issues. I called everyday to check on him and Katie gladly gave me an update on how he was doing. All of the staff members are terriific. We are now anxious to go back for another visit as this place is fantastic and very well run.

I am so grateful to the amazing team at Bone Adventure. Chewy loves his extended family. I work really long hours and I am assured that Chewy is well taken care of by everyone at Bone adventure. He is a fulltime daycare big dog who loves being with his friends both human and dog while his «mom» works. Thank you team Bone Adventure!
I would also like to mention that I have had to go to the emergency room a couple of times and the staff did not hesitate to take immediate care of Chewy. They even came to my home when I was taken in the ambulance and took Chewy in for safe keeping. I am so grateful to this amazing company of pet guardians. Tracy is a great groomer too.

I can’t even get out the whole sentence «do you want to go to daycare?» before Luda is jumping all over me in excitement! He looooves going to the BA, and is always warmly welcomed by name when we get there.
Daycare is super easy… no appointment needed, we just swing by on our way to work in the morning and pick him up in the afternoon. Overnight stays should be booked in advance, but we have had situations where we knew we wouldn’t make it back to BA in time to get Lu before they close, and they are very accommodating in those emergencies.
Perks include: the ability to peek at him on their webcams, an exhausted dog at the end of the day, an adorable report card sent home, and apparent love given to all the dogs by the staff!

My daughter referred me to this place. I have a poodle mix that is anxious and crazy when she is away from me — but she does pretty good here. She seems to like the place and the other dogs are friendly. The staff appears to be really good with the dogs.
I rated the 3 more for the grooming services. I never get the cut I want — partially because my dog is uncooperative, but the groomer should be able to handl

I LOVE bone adventure! I’ve been bringing my pup here and older pup for a long time! We love and trust that our dogs will be taken care of and loved while we are away on vacation. The staff is AMAZING and the manger, I believe, her name is heather is a total doll! She is very friendly, attentive, and on the ball! She answers any question you may have and introduces you to the staff that will be caring for your animals. The place is clean and someone stays with your pet 24 hours a day! They are never alone. I will always use this puppy daycare!

If you, or your dog, like associating with the suffocating constraints /​oddities of interacting with the wealthy, and the «want-​be» wealthy, then this place might be just for you. If you want to be around normal dog lovers and a place where your dog can just BE A DOG, than you might want to try somewhere else.
I have used many places in OC, for several days a week throughout the year, and this is the ONLY place that put my dog on «time out» for RUNNING/​CHASING. What?! Running?! Chasing?! Isn’t that what dogs do? It’s like telling a human not to breath. Maybe, if I went more often they would tell me my dog wagged his tail too much.
I am thinking the place is like this because of the area. The staff likely has clamp down of dogs just being dogs because of the threat of a lawsuit from some eccentric dog owner. In any case, life is too short to deal with this with my dog when I had to do it with my kids. It is OK and convenient, but might want to try another place if you can.

We used the day-​care services for quite a while, though we never used the boarding or grooming services. We always found the staff friendly enough, and the workers all seem to pay attention to the dogs and take good care of them. The webcam feature is nice, too.
When our dog died suddenly shortly before Christmas, they were very nice about refunding our pre-​paid money without any problem. They also hand-​delivered a very nice condolence card to our house, signed by the staff members.
I would recommend Bone Adventure to anyone who needs day care for dogs. It’s a bit pricy (rates recently went up a bit), and the parking is bad (I usually parked next door, in clear violation of the «Tenant Parking Only» sign), but our dog liked it there just fine and she was cared for well.

Great place. They have the best boarding practices. No one can beat them when it comes to boarding. The facility is a little small but my dog still had a blast. The staff was excellent. Anytime I go out of town and can’t take my dog I will board him here. They also have the best hours out of all other dog day cares.

I was watching a girlfriend’s little fluff ball of a dog over the weekend and decided to get it groomed before her return. The groomers did a great job with makeing the pooch look adorable– upon request I had them put a bow in it’s hair which she totally loved, the dog had a different opinion about it, but that didn’t really matter after the picture were taken.

My dog goes to the backyard location. She loves the pool and every time I pick her up, she is exhausted and is really well behaved at home. I can tell on the webcams that she’s having a great time.
However, I think the Backyard location has one MASSIVE flaw, and that is their sh*tty teenage-​like staff. I understand it’s probably hard to hire individuals who will take pride in their work at a doggy-​daycare. That being said, the staff looks grungier than the dogs. Like, really? Did you just decided not to shower before work? And what’s with their poor attitudes? No customer service on the phone and rarely in person. I just got off the phone with one of the girls, and after requesting that they feed my dog dinner because I was running late, she responded with «Yeah, I guess. How much food?»
Excuse me? I pay $ 600 a month to have my dog get exercise and have a good time, and I certainly don’t pay that amount of money to have some degree-​less sh*thead talk to me like that. How about a «No problem» or «We’d be happy to take care of that». I wouldn’t be writing a bad review if this was an isolated incident, but for every wonderful employee I’ve encountered (CJ, Kendall (?)), I have also had to deal with another just as bad.
The facility is amazing and the grown-​ups that actually work there have been a pleasure to deal with. It’s just a shame that they employ such a ragtag group of people. If it doesn’t improve, I will be taking my dog back to Wags N’ Wiggles in Tustin. I’d prefer not to since my dog absolutely adores the Backyard, but I am tired of excusing the lack of customer service on my dog’s behalf (and my $ 600 dollars a month).
One more thing, which I’m sure is because of the lazy staff. On three separate occasions, after requesting grooming services for my dog (nail trim or bath), she has been picked up without having the grooming complete. When they actually get around to it, they do a good job. I’m certain this is an oversight of the less-​than-​quality front staff, because when I have asked the manager, it is always done that day.

There is so many wonderful things to say about Diane the owner, the staff and the facility… where do I start!
We have been bringing our Labrador Jarvis to the Bone Adventure for over 6 years on and off. He started at the original location, and has been able to play at the new resort a few times. The only other time he gets as excited to leave the house is when we are taking him to the beach to swim, other than that the Bone Adventure is his favorite place on this planet!
The staff is amazing! I love they’re truly there because they are passionate about their love for dogs and they enjoy what they do. I know that every time I drop my baby off, he is going to be in the best care.
There are so many times they have gone out of there way for us… I have needed at the last minute a pick up or drop off and every single time they came through… I needed a last minute grooming added to the daycare, they found a way (which by the way the Groomer ROCKS)…we hit a financial hardship with the economy and Diane made it possible for Jarvis got to visit… he was just diagnosed with Lymphoma and again Diane went out of her way to offer an option for him to visit, since he can interact with other dogs due to his immune system… its endless! They do treat you like family!
Lastly to give a reply to the few who gave bad reviews because they were not allowed to bring their breed which could potentially cause an aggressive situation… Its not the their responsibility to take risks for other 99% of the dogs that attend, and if you owned a business you would understand. They are obviously conducting their business for the safety of every animal. There are many other locations that offer daycare for those breeds. Giving a review based on a guideline of a business is NOT how Unilocal works… it is a review of your experience. You didn’t have an experience, so why are you leaving a review??? They didn’t deserve it!

I wish my wife and I had a fair chance to review this facility but unfortunately they have «Breed Restrictions». Even though our 3 year old doberman is very social and lovable and has spent his entire life playing with all types of dogs both at public dog parks and private boarding facilities, he wasn’t even given a chance to be evaluated. I understand liability and risks. And I also understand all dogs are animals.
I have positive references from other boarding facilities and THE BONE ADVENTURES never even bothered to ask if our dog had been boarded before. The woman on the phone was very polite and apologized and basically said it was the owners policy. But she would however e-​mail the owner to see if she would make an exception. Needless to say we haven’t heard anything back.
I might be giving the owner too much credit, but potentially she might have a good reason. But at the same time I have boarded our dog plenty of time at Wags and Wiggles and Paws Pets resorts in Lake Forest. Out of all three — Paws Pets resorts is hands down our favorite and their customer service shines.
Like I said — I wish we did have a chance to rate this place and give the staff a chance to meet our boy Diego —
At this point I have issues with this establishments policies. Without getting into doggy rights debate I do think if we have glowing references it should at least be worth a conversation.

Harlow LOVES The Bone Adventure! I had to bring my pup here on emergency… our condo flooded and she needed to be out of the house… upon calling The Bone Adventure and explaining my situation they gladly allowed Harlow to come in last minute. I was sooo thankful! They really saved the day!
It was wonderful watching her play and make friends on the WebCam while at work… which I found out she was quiet the flirt while there… and upon her pick up I had to carry her to the car because she was soooo tired! I have NEVER seen my little crazy want to cuddle up and go to sleep soo quickly!
