The people here are not willing to listen to what you are looking for in a car. Told them exactly what I wanted and that I was not going to pay anymore in my monthly payments. They came back with the car I didn’t want without the technology package and was not willing to make a deal over $ 4,000 difference with the technology package. I stated that was fine and that we would go to another Acura dealership and the sales manager proceeded to tell me that no other Acura dealership would make a deal with us. We then proceeded to look for another dealership, explained our situation and what we were looking for; they crunched the numbers and within 2 hours we were in our new car. South Coast proceeded to call me the next day wanting to make the deal and I told them you lost the deal; I was serious about buying a car and you let me walk out the door, he was a bit shocked. Too bad so sad. I will never step foot back into this dealership.

I actually purchased a 2011 Honda Civic manual transmission from them back on 1÷15÷16. Our salesman was Tranh who was ok. Our trouble started in the finance room. We had told Tranh that we were going to find our own financing once we got back to San Diego the following week because the interest rate they were offering was too high. He agreed and we assumed everything was ok. Not really. We didn’t mention it again to the finance person Jay because we assumed Tranh had told him we were going to do the 7 day option to find our own financing. We were able to find a lower rate with a different lender in San Diego. So I called Tranh to ask him where to send the check and he told me «Oh I think they already submitted the finance paperwork.» I told him «What? I thought we had an understanding that we were going to get our own financing?» He said «They must have misunderstood.» I was able to speak to the finance guy Jay after multiple calls and he explained to me that he didn’t know that we wanted the 7 day option. Had he known he wouldn’t have submitted the paperwork. Now I would have to wait approximately 2 weeks for the paperwork to get processed with the finance company they submitted the paperwork to. He told me I would have to wait until I received the first bill in the mail and then pay off the loan then. I told him that I would be paying additional finance charges if I did that. His response was if there is a difference in the finance charges to call him back and he would see what he could do about paying for them. My husband then called the dealership and supposedly spoke to a mgr who just blew him off and laughed at him. I ended up paying an extra $ 40 in finance charges but it’s not the amount it’s the principle of the matter. We had an agreement to obtain our own financing and they totally disregarded that and put it through their finance company so that they could get their commission. The nightmare didn’t end there. I received the registration slip and tag in the mail around the end of february and I expected the plates to follow. The plates never came so I started calling the dealership again around march. I was transferred to the person that handles the DMV transactions her name was Tammy. I had left several msgs and never received a call back. I finally in the beginning of April called again after waiting since ¹⁄₁₅ and asked for a mgr. I was told they were all busy and was there something she could help me with? She explained to me that for the used cars the plates always took at least 3 to 4 months to process and for me not to worry. That calmed me down and I agreed to wait again. I finally had a chance to ask a friend who works for DMV what could have happened to the plates? He told me that 90% of the time the plates are under the paper advertisement covering the license plate. I told my daughter to check and sure enough the plates were there already on the car. Why couldn’t anyone from the dealership tell me that. What a shady business practice! My friend told me they just want the free advertising. Well now they have it with this one star review. If I could I would make it a negative 5 star review. BEWARE!!! To potential buyers. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!! THEY ARE THE WORST AND THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL DEALERSHIP IN CALIFORNIA!!!

Visiting CA and had to stop at the Costa Mesa Acura location — Terrible experience. My car was only 2 months old and I didn’t understand the notification so decided to take it to Acura. I was told that my tire had to be replaced and could not be repaired (a $ 250+ setback for a nail in tire). Called my Acura service department in Arizona and they advised me to take to Discount Tire. Fixed for free! Not only are they working on commission but BEWARE, they are NOT trustworthy at all! I felt that they were taking advantage of the situation and should be ashamed. I emailed the dealer president multiple times (the individual that seems to be replying to only good reviews on Unilocal) and have yet to hear back.

I called the dealership for a certain car and they had it available, so i drove 30 – 45 minutes, i test drove the car with very nice lady sales person and i’ve decided to buy. After i make my decision everything started going south. First one of the manager stopped by the office while we are there negotiating and started talking with sales manager with hand gestures, (seems like dont sell the car cheap) he thought i did not see him. I had a approved credit line (on the phone he said they will accept) but because they wanted make a cut on their financing company so they wanted me to fill up another credit app.
So i did. After 10 – 15 minutes wait sales manager came and told they approved me but i need to pay another $ 4000 extra (for a 16k car) and $ 50 – 60 extra on the monthly payments (72 months loan) so they can give me the car. I told them i like my own credit line terms, which he told me on the phone they will accept, and i dont want their financing. Sales manager told me same bank they work with and these are conditions and i dont have another choice if i wanted the car.
They basically forced me to pay another $ 7000-​$ 8000 extra on my loan terms. I think they assume they are the only ones know the math.
I’ve bought many cars from delars before and i’ve never seen this kind of crockness. I know the games dealers or sales people they usually play and which I am ok with it and go with the flow but what they tried today was highway robery.
The only good think about this business is name «Acura» on their signs and business cards.
I strongly DO NOT reccomend this business and dealership to anybody.

I visited South Coast Acura yesterday to look at a 2014 MDX. Earlier, Barrie, our salesperson took time out of her day to show detailed views of the vehicle via FaceTime and come to a negotiated price before our trip up from San Diego. When we arrived the vehicle was washed and detailed. Additionally, she was extremely patient in dealing with our two very hyperactive boys, and offering to help with them as needed. I felt bad that after the nice test drive and great experience that we didn’t purchase the vehicle from Barrie since she was so pleasant to deal with; we ended up needing a vehicle with a little more cargo room. Even when we left, she was still friendly and nice considering the circumstances. Thanks Barrie and South Coast Acura for an excellent car shopping experience! Scott & Michele T.

DO NOT BUY/​LEASE/​SELL AT SOUTH COAST ACURA! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY WILL PROMISE YOU ONE THING AND COMPLETELY RETRACT THEIR COMMITMENTS.
I leased my Acura from South Coast Acura for the first time. I had a semi good experience. It wasn’t until recently when I was interested in trading in my lease for a car that I had a terrible experience. I called in to get some information and spoke to Michelle Lee. Kind, but completely unprofessional. I asked if they would be able to buy me out of the remainder of my lease in order to get me into another 3 year lease for a more expensive car. She was able to get it approved by her manager, not once but twice. When I asked her to get me some numbers on the vehicle and how much I would be paying per month, with the buy out, she said she would need to call me back in an hour. She called me the next day with pricing not including the buy out of my lease. In other words, I was paying for my current lease and the new lease. When I addressed my concerns, she said she had no idea what I was talking about. I recounted my conversation and she finally admitted to remembering getting approval from her manager. She said she would get me the numbers again, but she never once called me back. I left her several messages and still nothing. A few days later I went by the dealership and spoke to a manager. He knew about my situation but refused to meet Michelle’s original commitment to me. I have since tried getting a hold of Michelle at the dealership and have been told multiple times that she is not available. I have left multiple messages and after 4 days still have not heard back.
Thankfully, I have found serval dealerships willing to buy me out of my lease with Acura. Now I just need to choose — Infinity or Audi?

So I came and bought my car from them. They told me to look over everything because my warranty was going to expire soon so I did. My ac was not working so I took advantage of the warranty and they supposedly «fixed» the issue. Yet again my ac stopped working and I took it back into them and they said sorry your warranty is out and it’ll be 600 to fix it. I decided to take the drive to my uncle which is 1 hr away he looked at my car and said there should Be no reason for it to not work and he found that they messed with my wires wires so that it would stop working and problem fixed and 600 saved!!! DO NOT I repeat DONOT trust them!!!

I would normally go to Tustin Acura since they are half a mile away from my house. Attempted to make an appointment for a weekend since it’s the only time I have off and Tustin Acura does not have any weekends open ever. To my surprise south coast Acura did so here I am. Arrived and greeted by Paul almost immediately. I told him my about the issue on the car and automatically he knew there was a service bulletin for it. Took care of paperwork and he said he’s going to get to it. Told me 90 minutes so I just hanged around the dealer until the car was done. Came looking for me when the car was done at the time stated and off I went. Fast and courteous service and on a weekend. Will never go back to Tustin Acura service for anything

I rarely give a 5 stars but this dealership and services is very good. Paul, the manager is very honest. He will give you an honest quote for the service and even tell you which one he recommends to do right away, which one you can delay. They also have the shuttle service which is great because they can drop you off at any close places to do your errands while waiting for your car to be fixed.

Ryan Lee, our sales person, went above and beyond to help us with the purchase of our vehicle. We were purchasing a vehicle at South Coast in Costa Mesa, CA and we live in Miami, FL but Ryan was very patient with all of our concerns and always answered my calls or texts, even on his days off and whenever I had a question he was there with the answer and if he didn’t know the answer to my question he would always find out and call me back with the answer. That is what I call Excellent Customer Service! I want to send a shout out to Ryan and thank him for all of his help. :) I highly recommend Ryan Lee to everyone considering in purchasing a car regardless of your location.

I bought the battery on ¹²⁄₁₁ .Today is ¹⁰⁄₁₅. The battery was died but in the battery said 100months warranty. I bring it back to them and check. They said you not buy here and no receipt. we can’t warranty you battery? after that I find the receipt was 4year ago and receipt said I buy from here. Now do you know what he said??? His name is Filemon Gutierr on service department. I will not come back again. Bad service ever!

10÷6÷15… I was talking to different dealers n getting my price where I wanted. N I was about to drive to another dealer already n behold. Tom from fleet call me back after I use on line site to send out muti price quotes. N we talk n he ask what price I wanted. I told him the price n he said OK. I was very cautious about it. Didnt want to bait n switch on me. N no other dealer would go that low for me. But true to his word Tom gave me the price n other dealer couldn’t believe it. Best experience from owning 11 cars before. Fast n to point. Would recommend hangs down any day.

After several days of searching, driving, and comparing SUV’s the winner was the 2016 Acura MDX.
We experienced excellent service from Ryan Lee and his team members at South Coast Acura. He was very friendly, highly knowledgeable, and to say the least, extremely patient with us.

If I could give negative stars, I would — STAY AWAY!!! Salesperson Kait is a DECEITFUL LIAR.
My boyfriend and I first came into contact with Kait when she responded to an Edmond’s bid for a brand new 2015 RDX with technology. She was persistent but extremely pleasant on the phone and had quoted the lowest price out of a group of 6 – 8 dealers by about $ 2K. She confirmed that there were two brand new RDX’s remaining on their lot. We mentioned that we would be coming from an appointment in Santa Monica (over an hour away) and she was adamant that we not stop at the Santa Monica Acura dealership and certainly not sign anything with them before speaking with her first.
When we arrived a few hours later, Kait greeted us very warmly however, contrary to what she had told us earlier that day, was suddenly unclear about the inventory she had remaining. After sending a colleague to «check», we were told that the last brand new 2015 RDX had in fact been sold and then Kait pawned us onto a colleague, Ronny, to show us their pre-​owned RDXs. At this point, we were pretty angry at the whole situation but having driven 90 minutes to get there, we wanted to salvage something out of the experience.
Ronny was very nice to deal with but obviously a young and inexperienced sales trainee, and didn’t have any particularly insightful information to offer about the vehicles. Ronny showed us a 2013 pre-​owned vehicle with roughly 40,000 miles and we ended up test driving it. We thought that the handling was less than ideal and asked if there were any other pre-​owned RDXs. With some obvious reluctance, Ronny then said that he had a second pre-​owned 2013 RDX with roughly 30,000 miles. We test drove that vehicle as well and found that the handling was noticeably better. It became very clear to us that they were trying to dump their most undesirable product and by their most junior salesperson.
We have several issues about our experience with South Coast Acura: (1) Kait blatantly lied to us about having the vehicles in stock. We were in phone and text communication that day and Kait had several opportunities to inform us that they didn’t in fact have any remaining vehicles in stock but chose not to, even though she was fully aware of the fact that we were coming from a long distance away. (2) When we got there, Kait didn’t even have the decency to show us the pre-​owned vehicles herself, we were pawned off to an inexperienced sales trainee. (3) Even amongst the vehicles that they DID have, it was clear they tried to pawn off the least desirable of the vehicles.
We ultimately purchased from Weir Canyon Acura in Anaheim (salesperson was Bruce McCurdy) and WOW what a contrast in experience that was. For one thing, Weir Canyon actually had the vehicles in stock as advertised — fancy that! In addition, Bruce was extremely experienced and knowledgeable about the Acura line and gave us all sorts of tips and facts about the handling, the technology features and other add-​ons that he recommended and didn’t recommend. Bruce was firm but fair on the price negotiation and we also had a very positive experience with Weir Canyon’s finance department as well.
Do yourself a favor and avoid South Coast Acura. If you must go there, I would advise you to definitely avoid Kait and Ronny!

I can’t say this loud enough, «stay away from this dealership». Made a deal on a car and signed the paperwork, credit check and shook hands. Then the middle con-​man (Phillip) came out. He told me that we needed to finance with them. I said that I had my own financing and did not need theirs. His reply was «then we won’t sell you the car». —— this is extortion
His reasoning was that they lost $ 2500 on the deal and needed to make it back on the «back end». —— This is lying

After buying two Acura’s and having them serviced for 16 years, I will never go back.
I thought that the auto dealerships had cleaned up their act from the 70’s and 80’s but I guess not.

I rarely give five stars, but this was an amazing dealership!
My poor little Prelude was totaled the other week, so I was in need of a new car ASAP. I originally saw a number of used TSXs at this dealership and inquired about one through email. I conversed with Kait and Barrie initially where I then set up a time to come in and test drive the car.
Because I had been talking to Kait from the start, I assumed I would be meeting with her (or even Barrie). I was a little put off when I walked in and was told that they would have to grab someone random to talk to me and show me the car. Okay, fine.
However, Rony then met with me, showed me the car, and took it for a test drive. The entire time Rony was very laid-​back but very professional! At many dealerships, the salesmen have seemingly little knowledge of their products, but Rony not only had knowledge of the TSX I was driving, but seemed very passionate about cars in general (something I share as well).
After the quick drive, we met with Phillip who discussed the price of the car with us. Again, Phillip was very easy to talk to and was extremely sincere. I’ve been to other dealerships before (Metro Acura/​Honda) where, because of my age, I’ve been talked down to in a very condescending manner. Phillip and Rony were the exact opposite of this. We were able to get the price of the car down to an amount that I could afford and with that I became the owner of a TSX!
The only downside to the day was it took about 30 – 45 mins to see the actual finance manager to sign the forms. I was told it was somewhat of a busy day, and I know it usually takes a while to purchase a car anyway so it’s understandable. The finance manager, Ramon, was very friendly and really made sure to get me out the door as soon as possible as he knew there had been somewhat of a wait.
All in all, definitely an easy car buying experience for me. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to purchase an Acura in the future.

This is a review for their service department.
I just got my 2016 acura ILX in the beginning of April and my brakes had suddenly begun making these horrid screeching noises. Since my car is still under warranty, I decided to schedule an appointment with South Coast Acura for 5PM online.
When I arrived, Raymond Hinojosa, the service advisor, was sitting in his office with two of his mechanics, laughing, having a good time — not a problem I thought. Then I noticed that the sticker for their «closing time» had been removed.
When Raymond (also goes by Ray), saw me — he asked what I was here for. I let him know I had a 5PM service appointment for my brakes. Then he had a skeptical look on his face and said «5 o’clock…are you sure?» Obviously, he did not check his online schedule because I had specifically booked it for 5PM and even told him I could show him the email confirmation for it. When I said this, he says, «Okay, I’ll have one of my mechanics look at it.»
LITERALLY, three minutes later of «inspecting» my vehicle, Raymond returned and said «I had one of my head mechanics look at it and there’s nothing we can do. When you stop and go too much with your car, a „gloss“ forms over your brakes which is creating these noises — but your brakes are still good, it’s just making noises. Your best bet is to reach out to the Acura dealership you bought the car from and they’ll take care of it or else it will make them look bad.» This is almost WORD-​FOR-​WORD of what Raymond said.
I looked at Raymond with a questionable face and said, «This is a brand new car, it shouldn’t be making ANY brake noises at all, and this car is under warranty, what do you mean there’s nothing you can do?» Then, he goes onto explain he will have to file a claim if I want to escalate the matter. At this point, I realized he’s just lazy and wants to get out early on a Friday afternoon. I don’t even want him and his mechanics touching my car to make the fixes. I leave and make sure to grab his business card.
I made the same service appointment with the dealership where I got my car, Metro Acura, commenting that I had been rejected by South Coast Acura. The customer service manager gave me a call and apologized that I had been turned away and that he was concerned that someone at South Coast disregarded the fact that my car was still under warranty.
Acura’s customer service should be the same all across the board, but this South Coast dealership is by far, the worst service I have ever received. Turn me away and tell me to come back another day because you’re too incompetent to do your job and service my car, but don’t lie to me about my brakes being «glossed over and is okay» since you want to get out of work early on a Friday.
If Raymond «Ray» Hinojosa greets you at this dealership for your car service, walk the other way. In fact, go to an entirely different acura dealership because I’ve been to two other ones and both have FAR EXCEEDED my expectations.
Please revisit your employee training program and treat your customers the way they should be treated. There’s a reason why your dealership has low ratings.

So I purchased a used car there and the day I left the dealership after purchase it gave me trouble. I had it towed back and the dealer (over 150 miles) and they had it for over a month. When I dropped off the car the sales manager threatened me and told me he was going to call the police!!! I was calm and cool but they needed me out so they could close a deal.
They told me it was as is but I couldn’t drive the car. They showed me a car fax but hid the details that the car was in a catastrophic accident which they repaired and that it needed thousands of dollars of work all not covered by the warranty they sold me because the car was in an accident (which they didn’t disclose). I ended up getting most of my money back (minus $ 1250) after I had the DMV and a lawyer talk to them. The car was clearly a lemon and is covered by the CAL lemon law. I would avoid them like the plague!!!
