Portal Languages

We are in our early 40’s learning to speak Spanish. They are very accommodating. We are still in our class and dont have a verdict yet. We will have another review if its worth it or not. So far it has been good.

Since my son has been attending this school for Spanish. He is now able to read, write and speak in Spanish. The teachers are so good, they really focus on the child and what they need. Very Happy Portal Languages is the BEST! Thank you guys!

I fully recommend Portal Languages in Costa Mesa! The teachers are engaging and they have a very strong curriculum. My teenage kiddos decided they wanted to learn Japanese — Lily has made learning fun and challenging. It is a small environment without a lot of distractions. I give them 5 stars!!!

The teachers seem nice and they are native speakers, which is good. The place is okay, but I think I’ll go elsewhere in future. For one thing, they recommended videos for my baby when the research clearly exists that language for infants must be acquired through live interaction. It worries me that they aren’t up on the research surrounding their own business.
I had gone in looking for early exposure for my infant because from what I’ve learned, they have an easier time mastering a language with less accent if they are personally exposed to the language between 6 – 12 months of age. There are no resources for this anywhere (sad) short of knowing someone or hiring a nanny. I asked to observe with my daughter just for her to hear other lessons in progress. They were very accommodating, but they still charged me full price as though my daughter were actually learning the language. Also, given her tiny attention span, we had to leave halfway through one class.
I totally get that they don’t cater to the under-​1 set, but if I wanted to pay for full lessons I’d have just signed up rather than try to clarify in advance that all we would be able to do was observe partially.
For adults, this might be a really useful program, though.

Reynaldo & Maria the leaders of the school are very sweet to you when they 1^st want you to join.
When you finish a term & are unsatisfactory with their curriculum & do not want to join back. They start accusing you & is very disrespectful to you.
I have never met such a rude bunch of teachers & it is shocking that they behave so badly towards parents.
Will never ever recommend anybody to join Portal Languages.
