Ketcham Tackle is a full line tackle store catering to both fresh and saltwater fisherman. Whether you’re fishing the eastern sierras for trout, or Catalina for yellowtail or white sea bass we have you covered. We carry fresh frozen bait including squid, anchovies and mackerel, and live bait including bloodworms, lugworms and night crawlers. We stock all major brands including: shimano, Daiwa, Avet, penn, Abu Garcia, Calstar, seeker, phenix, okuma, big hammer. Mc swimbait, reebs lures, rapala, owner hooks, mustad, pline, ande, seaguar, salas, tady lures, and many more. We offer custom rods and rod repair, as well as two line machines to load your reels with line or spectra including power pro and izorline. With our convenient location on the corner of Newport Blvd and 17th st in Costa Mesa, we are less than 2 miles to the ocean and newport harbor.

History

Established in 2014.

Ketcham Tackle (formerly Jimmys Fishing Supply) was established in 2014. Jason ketcham was the manager and face of Jimmy’s since its original opening in Anaheim in 2007, After the move to Costa Mesa in 2012 Jason bought the store and officially changed the name to Ketcham Tackle in January 2015. Jimmy was a behind the scenes owner, Jason has retained the same staff, and will still strive to bring you the quality products and outstanding customer service you are accustomed to.

Business Owner

Jason is a third generation tackle shop operator. His grandfather Opened Bob Ketcham’s Sporting goods in Hawthorne CA after returning home from WWII. Open for nearly 40 years Jason’s father Rick (who also works at Ketcham Tackle) was raised in the back of the shop and literally has over 60 years of tackle shop experience. Jason has been fishing since before he could walk and started working at shops when he was 16. Alan Spencer, manager, has been in the business for over 20 years himself and has a wealth of knowledge in both fresh, and salt water fishing.
