This was our first time ever at this Deli. Despite the recent negative reviews with it’s new management and changes to the menu(from what I gathered), I enjoyed the chicken pesto panini. I had them add avocado and it was delicious. My husband ordered the turkey cranberry sandwich which he thoroughly enjoyed. Yes, I suppose if you were accustomed to the old menu you would miss your faves but change is not a bad thing either.

Sadly, it’s gone. Replaced by a sandwich/noodle place with maybe the most ordinary sandwiches on earth. Francisco rolls right off the rack from Stater Bros. And it went downhill from there.

Tiny place but large menu. Went with a friend who eats here regularly. I ordered pastrami but they were out… disappointing. Had a chicken caesar wrap instead which was good. Don’t think I’d be back but it wasn’t bad.

I used to love JR’s, but the changes have caused me some discomfort! My company is just around the corner, so we always used to go to JR’s and get some awesome food. They added brie to soggy bacon. They are doing away with favorites that made JR’s so popular. The food is actually bad, and I am really sorry to see the changes. Please rely on the old favorites, and maybe do some changes, but not the drastic changes we are seeing at this place.

Red wine infused mustard and real avocado slices(not spread) make any sandwich better. The place is clean and the ingredients are of good quality. Was looking for more meal deals other than the daily special, but that’s ok. I’ll just have to go back and try some other stuff… soon. Plus there’s a 7 – 11 in the parking lot to buy my lotto tickets while I wait. :oP

Best Philly cheesesteak I’ve ever had. I’ve gone to this place for years. The lady there is so nice and has always gave me good service. Too bad I don’t go there often. =**(FERNZAPPROVED!

There is just something so delicious about their sandwiches! I usually get the Roast Beef and Blue Cheese or the Turkey, Swiss and Avocado. Both of them come on a delicious, warm ciabbata bread that is soft inside and crisp outside. Amazing. But I think the thing that sets these sandwiches apart is the freshness of the veggies(their tomatoes are so red and juicy and they are very generous with the avocado) as well as the tasty sauces, for example red wine and mustard on the roast beef and a balsamic dressing on the turkey sandwich. Yum. Oh, and the service here is always warm and friendly. The location is a small sandwich counter in the plaza with a 7 – 11. It’s really a takeout place although there is some nice outdoor seating in the patio area that connects to Fresca’s.

Love their sandwices. They do things a little different, they use a really good ciabata bread on most of their sandwiches. My favorite is the Roast Beef and Blue cheese sandwich. The ingredients are great, produce is always fresh and they don’t skimp on the avocado. Food is 5 * But seating is limited, if its nice out the have a patio they share with Fresco’s that is recommeded… And parking can be a problem at lunch time.

Everyone talks about how amazing the bread is, but this is Orange County, people. Do people really eat carbs in the OC? I have tried three different salads and all of them have been fresh, unique, and simple. The vegetables were crispy, the dressings all homemade, and well, I’m sure the bread is good too ;) I didn’t give this place five stars because ambiance is super important to me. They have two small tables in the deli and a court yard with native birds that resemble Jabberjaws from The Hunger Games. Yes, they’d probably kill me for me food. Two thumbs up for JR’s!

This place has hands down some of the best bread in alllll of OC. I ordered a turkey sandwich with cheese, chipotle sauce, red onions, jalapenos, tomatoes, all on a ciabatta role. It was delicious!!! not your typical turkey sandwich at all. The jalapenos were pickled, so they weren’t very spicey, but they added such a nice flavor. The red onions and chipotle complimented each other so well. Oh that bread… that delicios, fresh ciabatta bread… There wasn’t much meat in the sandwich though. Prices are so reasonable too and service is top notch. The salad selection was HUGE and each one looked delicious… if only I ate salads. I highly recommend this place !!!

Love this place! Work up the street on Red Hill and I make sure I eat here at least once a week! Salads are tasty and big, enough for sharing! Can’t go wrong with anything here, staff is also very friendly! I order the Tuna Salad, or Turkey and Swiss! Yummmmmmmmmmmy.

Ugh. I hate when I have to be the bearer of bad news. I really wanted to love JR’s. Sandwiches are my primary food group, JR’s is all of a 5 minute drive from my office, and the menu of specialty sandwiches is beyond tantalizing. I thought we were destined to be a perfect fit. Let’s count the ways our romance fizzled. First, the lady at the register was incredibly rude and impatient when I perused the menu upon my first visit. On my second visit I called in my order and when I arrived, found out from the same lady that she had forgotten to write it down when I called. Ok, two strikes. In terms of the sandwiches, as other reviewers have pointed out before, the bread to meat/cheese/topping ratio heavily favors the bread. And I find that the Italian dressing they put on the sandwiches is really low quality, super artificially sweet, and totally drowns out the other flavors of the sandwich. Why not just ask for a sandwich without the dressing? Well, the menu I ordered from made no mention of said Italian dressing being included. I also wanted to love their unique take on a macaroni salad with lots of dill, feta, and black olives in place of the standard celery and pickles. Initially I was impressed by the bold flavors, but after a few bites it was just too rich to keep eating. I gave JR’s a couple of tries because, well — sometimes first dates suck. Unfortunately none of my repeat visits were successful. Guess it’s time to call it quits.

I’ve been looking for a good semi healthy sandwich shop lately, and remembered about Jr’s Deli. Yay glad I’m back cause I’m getting pretty tired of subway. Today I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich on a wheat roll. Boy o boy is this a bomb ass sandwich. grilled chicken was super moist, and the sauce they use makes it complete. I highly recommend Jr’s. There’s a nice group of ladies that work here. If ur a lil undecided they will help u choose something to ur taste. A couple people ordered salads and they look fresh and tasty. I would’ve took a pic of my sandwich but I couldn’t wait to sink my braces into it. Get over here and try em out. p. s. they close at 5pm. p. s.s. I usually like getting jalapeño chips. But the brand they have here r a mouth full of salt. I’m just saying

Came in after the lunch crowd so the place was now empty, with just ghosts of the mad rush that trekked in and out the last 60 minutes before I entered. I didn’t feel like a sandwich, although the ones on their long menu list sounded tempting. But I was going for a salad. The lady was very helpful when I asked what salad I should try. She said she liked several but one that ppl get most is Jr’s Chopped salad(roasted turkey, applewood smoked bacon, thin slices of cucumber, chopped tomatoes, crumbled blue cheese, lots of freshly sliced avocados over field greens. I got it to go so it came with two containers of balsamic vinaigrette. The place was small, but clean and inviting. While I waited as they made my salad, I enjoyed watching ‘I love lucy’ on a small t.v.(yes, a t.v., not an lcd). Between watching lucy get into her normal mix-ups and glancing at the ppl outside eating in the patio, I watched them make my salad. Chopping the ingredients, making the dressing, and assembling my lunch with all their attention to details. When i got back to the office … the results; pretty darn good salad. And just under $ 7($ 6.99), i think it was one of the better salads for the price. Solid 4, thus far. I want to try it again and see if it lives up to the first visit.

This is my go-to place near work when I am trying to eat a little healthier because they have GREAT salads. These salads are massive. I can only eat half of it, and I’ve been known to take down some food. They also have delicious sandwiches and wraps, with a lot of bread choices including ciabatta. The menu is massive with tons of salads and sammies to choose from. They use good quality ingredients. There’s nothing worse to me than ordering a salad and getting a box full of crappy iceberg lettuce. This place gives you fresh, crisp green leaf lettuce! The only drawback here is that they share an outdoor seating patio with Fresca’s next door and it can be hard to find a place to sit. I often just get my salad to go. Oh yeah, and at lunch time they always have the tv tuned to «I Love Lucy» which makes me happy :)

this place is real hidden off bristol next to a Fresca’s and across from Bill’s Burgers. After talking to the woman working there I decided to go with turkey blue cheese bacon sandwich over the cheese steak. It sounded weird, but weird enough to try. Good, but kind of too much blue cheese. Ciabatta bread was good. Got onion rings also which were good but its overkill since the sandwich is big enough. Definitely coming back but probably would order something different.

Meh. I’ll try it again, but other places would top my list. Things to like about this place: It is independently owned. It is a dedicated sandwich place. The location is off the beaten path. It is clean. The food and ingredients were fresh. I ordered the NY(submarine) sandwich«special» which included a drink and a pasta or potato salad. The ratio of bread to meat is heavily tilted toward bread. Unfortunately, the bread was chewy, so it was a tough to eat this sandwich. The amount of meat was underwhelming for the price of the meal, though the meat was of good quality. I was asked if I wanted everything on it, and I said yes. That was a mistake. I would not think they put mayo and mustard on an Italian Sub, but apparently everthing means everything. Next time, if I order that sandwich, I will ask for Italian dressing; no mayo/mustard. The feta pasta salad was great. I like the addition of the dill to the feta. That was the highlight of the meal. Clearly others have had very positive food experiences here given teh 4 and 5 star ratings. The service was straightforward. You order at the register. They ring you up, the food is brought to your table. You self serve on picking out your prepackaged potato or pasta salad. Drinks are self serve, too. Overall, nothing too negative, nothing too positive. Two places I would likely pick over this: Claro’s in Tustin or Kwik Korner in Santa Ana on Main and Sunflower. When I do try this place again, I will try their Philly Cheese steak sandwich or maybe one the the salads which seem to get rave reviews.

I love this small deli. I always get the same woman working. She’s very nice. I assume that she’s the owner. Recently, she told me to spread the word about this spot because last couple months have been hard and they’ve barely been able to stay open. If you want sandwiches come here. It’s very different than any other place when it comes to their Philly Cheesesteak. Delish. The bread is great! I get the Loaded Philly Cheesesteak. The peppers, meat are cooked to perfection. I always add the spicy peppers to it. Not super spicy but is just right with this sandwich. That final touch makes this sandwich stand out from any other place. From the look of it, my co-worker asked if it was Philly’s Best. No way! I do not like Philly’s Best. So if you do enjoy it don’t come expecting the same. My all time favorite Philly Cheesesteak place. I am not a fan of onion rings. Their beer battered onion rings are so different than any regular onion rings. It’s a pretty big portion for 4 – 5 bucks so I only buy them when I have someone to share with. For not liking onion rings this is the ONLY place I will eat onion rings from. Hands down best onion rings & cheesesteak I’ve ever had. I believe they add dill to their ranch too. So it’s pretty good. Not your normal deli. A must try. Their antipasto Salad is huge and pretty damn good. This place is a hidden gem… and I think I will go so far, as to say that this is my favorite sandwich shop in Orange County. Because I am a sandwich lover, that is one bold statement. The menu has something to satisfy any craving, and I have yet to «sample» a sandwich that I did not instantly add to my «favorite JR’s sandwich» list. The feta pasta salad is also to-die-for, I could probably eat it all day, every day. The ingredients in everything are fresh, and it’s easy to tell how much the people who work there care about what they are serving you. Another plus for being family owned and operated.
