* The website doesn’t list Jaime Gomez somehow. Maybe they might share the spot. I don’t know. I’m only talking about Jaime Gomez who gave me this contact info (including website) of his (supposedly). I went to this studio and saw bunch of tables and chairs of Jaime’s.
It’s a workshop that creates tables and chairs with metal and reclaimed woods.
The owner Jaime Gomez, who also has a construction company. He did all the famous places you know around here — Portola Coffee Lab, Shuck the oyster, The Iron Press, Anaheim Packing district, and Hache LA (it’s run by the contradiction on Unilocal for racist comments on Chinese Unilocalers. The owner of Mick’s Karma burger in Irvine, which seems to be way too overrated for what it is) etc. He also mentioned he got an one year and half contract with a hotel in LA. We found him due to the furniture he created at one of those places. He did some construction work for us first due to it. It was smooth at the beginning. But it was kinda crappy in details at the end, took over 3 months for completion despite of 3 week time frame he promised. We ended up with ordering custom made furniture as well (at the beginning of the construction stage. He finished mostly for the first 2 weeks, but didn’t do the last a few jobs for months.). He got a good taste in furniture but is a total fraud.
We ordered tables, bar stools and chairs from him and paid full in advance. Because he said he needed the money to get the materials. It was our big mistake to pay him full even before the work started.
1) We can’t find his name on the contractor’s state license board.
We looked him up by his licensed number he provided us. We can’t find him. Our architect had to step up so many times to correct his poor jobs. I don’t think he knows what he’s doing, but he gets tons of jobs from places you all know. It seems to have different licenses for contractors depending on the size and type of jobs. He doesn’t seem to have a proper license (s) to do what he does now. It’s illegal to work without a license.
2) He promised the job would be done for 3 weeks. We’ve paid in full even before the job had started. It’s over 4 months now and we haven’t gotten any expect for some default and unfinished tables. They are 5 inch higher than standard size tables, which forced us to cut them giving us extra works and costing us more money. They look terrible. During the time, he kept telling us those would come this Friday, Saturday etc… Never came. He keeps ignoring all the phone calls from us.

Don’t even try to use this crook.
Though we paid in full already to him, we haven’t gotten any chairs nor bar stools. We got only crappy unfinished and default tables.
We’re not the only victims of his continuous fraud schemes. We found so many victims like us. He hasn’t paid many of his sub contractors (one of them hasn’t been paid 6 month of the work) and his workers all quit recently due to it. We didn’t know it till lately.
We’re in the process of filing him for fraud on every single resource available.
Don’t cry about bad contractors. If you didn’t stand up like us, they’ll continue to steal your time and money in vain. Please avoid him. I don’t want anyone to go through our nightmare with him.
