History

Established in 2007.

It all started with my first Blackberry. Yes, I got hooked on text messaging. I would send texts to everyone I could. Except I noticed that I could only text message my friends, and businesses were for the most part ‘non-​participants’ in the texting universe. Why do I have to wade through endless ‘interactive voice response’ menus when I call a business to talk to someone? I should be able to just text them my order, request an appointment or ask a question. I discovered that there were no platforms available for this kind of service (unless I had the proprietor’s personal mobile number). So I founded iViP Mobile to solve this problem. Now we offer text messaging to auto dealerships, medical clinics, animal hospitals, lawyer offices, any small to medium-​sized company with a service or sales department that needs to communicate with their external contacts.

I manned incoming customer service phone lines since I got out of college in a variety of industries. From the inside of large service departments, I understand what is it like to be held responsible for keeping your customers happy. Phones ringing off the hook, dealing with multiple callbacks, documenting everything and trying to follow the rules. When Nathan told me what he was working on, I realized that as a CSR (customer service rep) I would have loved an application like iViP that could get me off the phone, and let me text message my external contacts instead! Nathan invited me on-​board and let me design into the Messenger all the features and behaviors that I know you who are responsible for customer service will love. Being an insider that knows what CSRs have to deal with, I am confident that the iViP Messenger will solve the practical communication issues you, the customer service worker, face everyday.
