InkNBurn

A stellar gem in a crowded field, INKnBURN creates limited edition garments designed for athletes of many shapes and sizes, focusing primarily on runners.
Their products aren’t cheap, but prices are in line with other brands of athleticwear like Lululemon – the difference being that all of their products are made in the USA, on-​site at their Costa Mesa factory in a well-​lit, airy building. No sweatshops, and no poor quality items made in some developing country overseas.
What makes their products stand out, though, are the amazing designs. Take, for example, the humble short-​sleeved tech shirt. Designs aren’t just slapped on the front with a silkscreen or iron-​on. Rather, the company uses a dye sublimation process that prints the graphics right onto rolls of fabric before they’re even cut. The prints are computerized so the designs are also proportioned correctly to the size of the shirt. Have you ever gotten a shirt with a silkscreen on the front where the graphic looks huge on a women’s small, but teeny tiny on a men’s XL? You’ll never get that with an INKnBURN item, because they will adjust the graphics to match the size the shirt will be.
One caveat — they recently streamlined their operations. Rather than making a lot of inventory and have it sit on their shelves, they have switched to a very agile high-​quality low-​quantity business model of offering limited edition runs. This lets them introduce new designs regularly, but once the window has closed on a design, that’s it; it’s no longer available for purchase. This means that, to take advantage of making sure you know when a new item is being introduced, you really want to sign up for their email newsletter (if you are on Facebook they also maintain a very active social media presence).

The best words I can use to describe INKnBURN apparel is unique, artistic, and comfortable. In any kind of physical fitness endeavor you want comfort and ease of movement and that is precisely what you get time after time with this line. Soft breathable materials and designs that are far removed from the cookie cutter norm of fitness wear. Can’t ask for much more than comfort and beauty, but you do get more. You get unique styles. The artwork designs are not mass produced. You are truly getting a work of art with every piece.
I am so thankful I stumbled upon this company at an expo one year. I was annoyed that I couldn’t find a comfortable breathable tech shirt anywhere that wasn’t just plain jane solid colors or stripes.
I love this company!

INKnBURN
stands out in a sea of typical and expected athletic apparel. The brand is ever-​evolving, and now produces its pieces of wearable art in small batches, with items posted for a short time for sale, and then being sent to production. There’s a strong contingent of buying/​selling/​trading, both on a Facebook group specifically for purchases of items no longer in production, and Ebay. I’ve been a long-​time ambassador for the brand, and it’s a blast when I decide to sell old pieces to go to the «In Search Of» list to give fans of the brand an opportunity to purchase older styles no longer available.
Besides the unique and colorful styles and patterns, the fabric itself is strong and moisture-​wicking, and cut in a way that is flattering to all figure types. I’ve had some minor weight fluctuations in the past two years, but because the garments are well-​made, they always look good for my daily run, or heading to the yoga studio. Shipping is prompt for in-​stock items, and there is always clear communication on items that are going to production first as far as when to expect actual delivery. It’s always a treat to receive the shiny «black envelope» with a new piece of running gear, and on the rare occasion that I’m not in love with an item, returns or trades with fellow INKnBURN fans is always an easy option.
I don’t live near the brand headquarters in California, but others who do, or who have been in the area, have enjoyed going there to browse and purchase in person. There are also several running stores around the country that carry INKnBURN in-​stock; you can find those listings here.
INKnBURN is a family-​owned business, with a very small number of employees, and I find this much more appealing than purchasing from a mass-​retailer, knowing that my purchase directly impacts the lives of INKnBURN employees.

INKnBURN is wearable artwork. The small local business designs and makes all of their sportswear in the USA. Each piece is printed before sewn together. The quality is incredible and lasts through years of heavy use and washing without fading or weakening the fabric or seams. And the customer service is second to none. Each customer is treated like a member of the family and made to feel as if they are the most important customer. .unless I am actually the most important customer (ha). Prices are no higher than other elite brands of sportswear, and totally worth every cent.

This is a review for the mail-​order business. (Unfortunately, I haven’t been to the brick-​and-​mortar store yet!)
Here’s the note I sent my sister in late 2011, when I ordered my first INKnBURN:
«Okay, I just got some shorts from INKnBURN and I have to say that they ROCK! Got the purple Run Or Die ones. Super soft comfortable slightly stretchy material with a little texture, a little pocket on either side, big wide soft waistband that folds down (and has a pretty contrast pattern underneath!) and they make my a$$ look AWESOME. In my opinion.
«I am very sad that my new favorite shorts cost $ 65. But oh my, I am afraid they may be worth it.»
Four years later, I’ve worn that particular pair of shorts for hundreds of miles, in snow, rain and mud, through a half dozen or more races including ultramarathons, I’ve gotten them unspeakably dirty, I’ve thrown them in the laundry and it’s all washed out… and danged if they don’t STILL look amazing (and make my a$$ look awesome, of course!)
In addition to their eye catching, utterly bombproof clothing, I love INKnBURN’s customer service. I’ve gotten fast, knowledgeable assistance when I’ve needed to exchange something, and once when I received the wrong item, a very prompt correction of the order — they even sent a shipping label.
The prices are steeper than you’ll pay for clothes made in China, but the quality and the wear is worth it. Love their gear. (Disclosure: I have been an INKnBURN ambassador since 2013. I receive a discount on the gear, but my opinions are my own).

INKnBURN stands apart from all other running/​workout gear. The designs are not only unique and beautiful, but they are comfortable. The fabric is soft and wicks away sweat keeping you cool. I wear my INB gear on road and trail runs for various distances and have never had issues with chafing or ride up.
I’ve had the pleasure of visiting the store in Costa Mesa and was given a tour of the facility and was able to see how the clothes are made. The process is pretty cool and the whole INKnBURN team are super friendly and helpful.
Tip: Check out their website and subscribe to their newsletter. Once a design is released they only make a certain amount and once it’s sold out, it’s gone and you miss out :(

I have been wearing INKnBURN for two and half years… I LOVE THEIR CLOTHES! So much so that I became a brand ambassador. They have got the best customer service in the business. Every design has a story. Always be on the look out for the April Fools and May the 4^th be with you day!

I’ve been wearing Inknburn tops but just recently purchased the shorts. Love wearing these shorts! I walk the dog, clean the house. Sorry, I’m not an athlete but love comfort and wash & wear gear. Btw, waistband will give you a clean line.

I saw someone on FB wearing a Run or Die singlet and I fell in love with the colors. Immediately I went on the InkNBurn site and ordered it for myself.
It shipped that same day and arrived within a couple days! I ordered a small and it is true to size. The colors are incredible and it is high quality material. I cannot wait to sport that on my run this week!

The «Art of Running,» as imagined through the highly innovative force behind INKnBURN, cannot be summed up in one word, nor one design or idea, nor one solitary, Sugar Skull tank top. (I love mine!) You could try, I guess. But your attempt would be futile, outrageous. No, one word simply won’t do. Rather, multiple: Transcendent, Fierce and Stylistic; Strikingly Charged, Explosively Colorful and Beautifully Rendered…
When I was first introduced to INKnBURN’s website, in fact, I was immediately drawn. Without question, there’s this hypnotic, tattoo parloresque quality about their vision that – for someone who’d never been brave nor ambitious enough to tattoo up – is refreshingly appealing, especially when it’s conceptually attributed to running apparel. My Sugar Skull tank, for example, just looks super slick. I mean, I have multiple tech shirts, but many of them are – yawn – ordinary, unimaginative. Thankfully, though, INKnBURN is dedicated – fiercely dedicated! – to changing that.

She and her husband, Rob, are the charismatic owners of INKnBURN. After ordering my Sugar Skull tank online and opting to drive down to Costa Mesa to pick it up (I wore it for my Rock ‘n’ Roll LA Halloween Half), I was lucky enough to meet her. Not only did she walk me through their showroom, but she also allowed me to stroll with her throughout the on-​premises factory, where I not only caught glimpses of some hot, new product, but also some seriously sweet-​looking designs. High-​quality and hand-​crafted, INK’s performance apparel is extremely soft and comfortable, using fabrics that are not only moisture wicking, but light and breathable as well.

I’m an avid runner and I’ve tried all the different apparel brands out there. INKnBURN FAR succeeds them all in fit, comfort and style. I get endless compliments, stay cool and dry and chafe free when I’m wearing it, from a 5k to a 100 mile ultra. The designs are truly art, even more beautiful and vibrant in person than you can see online. The fit is true to size. Sure, INB is a bit expensive, but I’d rather support this family owned and operated business that’s located right here in the US than an overproduced company that outsources labor and materials overseas. I just cannot get enough INKnBURN. Love love love.

INKnBURN is incredible active wear for runners, yogis, and just happens to double as great casual wear as well. Soft fabrics that wick moisture, and the designs don’t fade and last for years and years! Highly recommended! Visit the show room for great customer service and see it to believe it!

InkNBurn is a FANTASTIC sports wear company that was started by Megan and Rob. Their products are made to last and is a huge hit with not only endurance athletes, but also anyone who likes working out while looking awesome.
The warehouse is very clean and there is a showroom that has all their current products on display. If you want to check out their products in person, call ahead to make sure someone can help you out. They are only open Monday-​Friday so plan accordingly.
The American-​made shorts, shirts, and other workout accessories are all very high quality and last a long time. You’ll also get a lot of inquisitive looks and even a few questions from people bc the designs that INB come up with are unlike anything you’ll find from other brands. They really have their own «look» that is easily recognizable!
