Great place for tires. A few months back they took a big screw out of my almost new run-​flats and patched it up in no time. i have been taking my cars here for years and they always come thru for me. Highly recommend.

This is the most honest and best tire shop ever. I come here all the time because I am notorious for running over nails, and they patch and check all of my tire. They are fast and efficient and aren’t here to charge you for something you don’t need, they aren’t scam artist and always go above and beyond! Best prices in town. If you ever are doubting anything go to Grand Prix and they will resolve any issues! Also the guys are very nice here. I will forever be a loyal customer.

I’m not one to write subjective and hatred-​laced reviews so keep that in mind when I say this place is staffed by liars and hot headed punks. I called prior for a wheel balance on a ROAD FORCE machine specifically, which they said they had, and if I wanted it done today to leave ASAP. So I crawl through Saturday beach traffic only to get there and have them tell me they no longer have a road force machine.
1) Either they’re liars or too stupid to even know what machines they have in stock. A wheel balance machine is probably a top 3 used machine in an auto repair shop.
2) what kind of business has a high end machine, then dumps it in favor of a simpler one?
I’m not looking for a red carpet treatment, but I am certainly not going to allow techs and service advisers be rude and condescending to me.

I’m not even sure if these guys do good work or not because every time I go in there to get a price they are extremely rude and unwilling to help. I just went there today 7−31−15 to get a front alignment on my Mercedes G wagon and I simply asked them if they could match a price that I got down the street at Allens tires for $ 70. When I asked to match the price (they charge $ 85) the old man with white hair barked at me and said «I am insulted you even asked, take ur car someplace else» it was really rude how he handled the situation and even the employees were embarrassed by his behavior. But that’s no surprise. There is a short bald guy that is always there who is just as rude and treats people like he is better than them. Anyway, just a heads up if you are thinking of going here. Not worth giving these guys ur money

A very accommodating rim and tire shop. They got me right in, and was led to a very comfortable waiting area, with a flat screen and popcorn. The price was very reasonable, gave me hope that there are fair and decent businesses here in Costa Mesa.

While on vacation in a rented car we had a flat that was non repairable. We stopped at a store near here and we’re told they were too busy to help us. We stopped here and they took our car immediately. After determining a new tire was needed we were offered a used tire for the price of what the flat repair would have been. When I tried to pay for the tire and mounting and balancing I was pleasantly surprised when the manager refused payment and wished us a nice time on our vacation. I even tried to give him something for bring so nice, but was refused again. My wife and I cannot say thank you enough for making a trying situation much easier to deal with.
As the owner of an auto restoration business near St. Louis, MO, I can attest that this level of customer service will continue to bring customers in. Bravo!

From start to finish these guys are the best! I have bought new wheels for my wife’s Mercedes and when I was having them put on they had the oil changed, tented the windows darker and found the battery in the back of her car was bad. I did not even know that we had a second one in the back of the car. For my Tahoe they blacked out my windows and put new wheels on. Over the years I have had five or six cars done by Jerry, Berj and Danny all who have treated my wife and I fantastic. I would never go anyplace other than Grand Prix! Oh and do not forget about Bono the dog and his tire.

They don’t schedule appointments.
I just got new tired for my car in LA and drove down to Newport and on the drive noticed that there was something not right about how the car was handling. So i brought it in to this shop after work.
The technician was rude and refused to look at the car or do the alignment. He was hell bent on trying to sell me new tired even though i just bought new tires that morning. He was convinced that the tires were the «Wrong type» and kept yelling at me that i need new tires.
These are the very same tires that i have been buying for my car by my usual tires store in LA for YEARS now and they have always been great.
I left this store and went up the street to another tires store that seemed to know more about what they were doing and he test drove the car and made a couple of adjustments and i was back on the freeway in no time.

The Alignment Experience from Hell — Part Two (Grand Prix Performance)

After conferring with my mechanic about the seriously unbalanced and misaligned vehicle, he suggested that I take the car to Grand Prix Performance. I have been to the shop before, but not in a good fifteen years. I bought a full set of Yokohama AVS Intermediates for my Datsun 510 and had their exhaust guy make a custom exhaust for it in the early 2000s. They were not unknown to me and honestly, next to Glenns Alignment, Grand Prix is one of the most respected shops in Costa Mesa when it comes to wheels, alignments and suspension.
I brought my car in and they were not very busy. I explained to them the situation with Firestone and the supposedly «unbalanceable» front wheel. I asked them if they would be willing to diagnose it for me and correct it if it could be corrected. They agreed that they could handle it and I left my car with them.
About half an hour later, they tell me that they have figured out what is wrong and they take me back to the shop. All four wheels are off of the car and one of the owners explains to me that the tire isn’t mounted right. Yet, he doesn’t seem to want to deal with it. He tells me that it is «Not worth his time» to make it right because I am not buying anything from him. (Keep in mind, I was completely willing to pay for a diagnostic fee and labor. Up until this encounter I had respect for these guys, their business and their time. I did not expect them to do anything for free.)
I asked if it could be aligned, and he tells me that the back tires are completely worn and that he will not align it because it is not safe. I was not planning on buying new tires at the time (I had only had the front two replaced at Firestone) and so I explained that to him. He basically told me to bugger off at that point, told his guys to put the car back together and told me to get out of his shop. To his credit, the back tires WERE severely worn, pretty much down to the steel belt. I had not planned on purchasing new tires because I did not have the money and I figured I could go a couple more weeks. (For those of you who know anything about alignments, the insides were severely worn which indicates too much negative camber. This factors in later.)
After calming down and trying to see where the guy was coming from, I decided to finance some tires and another alignment on the credit card so that these guys would fix my alignment and get my car to the point where it was safe to drive again. To their credit, they did give me a very good deal on the tires, and were able to get the exact tires that I wanted in less than two hours. This obviously speaks to how long they have been in business, and how well they know their business.
After a few hours in their nice show room where I was able to get some work done, they give my car back to me. The steering wheel shake was gone, which is a plus for them. It did not drive anywhere near straight, but after all of the negativity, I did not want to take the car back to them and ask them to fix it.
If you are in the market for a good, professionally done alignment in Costa Mesa, there are better places to go than there. If you want a good deal on tires, these guys will probably take care of you. I won’t do business with them again, but hey… they have plenty of positive reviews.
(For the Third and final part of this saga, look up Accurate Alignment in Orange. They are the ones who figured out what was wrong with my alignment. Spoiler — The rear was not aligned AT ALL. So despite the guys at Grand Prix diagnosing the fact that my tires were seriously worn due to what was obviously a camber issue, and then taking my money to align the car… they only aligned the front. Good job guys! It is not like I was jumping up and down demanding my car back. Their waiting area is very nice. I was perfectly content to hang out for as long as it took for them to do the job right.)

I’ve been in the car biz my whole life and I’m also a car enthusiast. Berj is the most knowledgable person in this biz. He will fix things most company’s won’t touch. Do yourself a favor and go talk to the man! Five stars all the way!!!
