I was referred to Mike at Evan’s Automotive it is so nice to work with a reputable person on top a great honest mechanic. Advised me straight on what I needed and what I didn’t need, did not take advantage like some mechanics. I highly recommend Mike!

I had them work on my 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton W-​12. they disrespected me and my car, they did not change the engine oil filter. on my 12 cylinder Bentley Engine. wow, took my money took, 15 quarts of 0−40wt. mobil one, a new Wix filter provided. and just tossed out the new filter or sold it? I have picture of the filter, and never flushed the brake system again I paid for the labor and provide factory fluids, the car cost $ 100,000.00 dollars so I wanted it to be treated properly. this is a crime of fraud as far as I’m concerned. they government tells me it is a civil matter. I say crime! fraud. theft by deception. get some help. you are a mess.

As a female I often get screwed over at automotive shops but here he was straight up and gave me no bs. When I got my car back it felt like a totally different car. I was very happy. I highly recommend this place

Out of all the shops in the oc area, there are very few outstanding places with honest technicians. Evan, the shop owner, is great. He has been nothing but honest and diligent on every project brought through his doors. He will offer a price that makes sense for the work that is being put into the car and he won’t try to up sell you on unnecessary items. For any and all your repair needs I highly recommend this shop.

Evan has been there for both of my daughter’s used cars, always, even my daughter’s «cursed» kia rio. He does any repair great and replaced my daughter’s engine for a decent price after she blew it up. That was a while ago and the car has run great since. I wouldn’t go to anyone else and will «keep coming back» to Evan’s!

Evan’s Automotive was recommended to me by a friend and I have been going there for about a year. Mike and Evan are honest and competent and I feel they take great care of my car. As a female I know that I have been taken advantage of before at other repair shops but I always feel I am given the straight info and a fair deal here at Evans. I highly recommend this shop. I’ve been going to Evans Automotive since they opened their doors. Evan and Mike are always upfront and honest about any job that comes their way. When my Mom was purchasing a new car Evan even gave it an inspection before purchase.
These guys are the real deal when it comes to mechanics. I always get my cars back ahead of schedule and I’m always pleased with the outcome. There have been multiple times that Mike and Evan diagnosed issues which were very inexpensive. Most places would take you for a ride where as these guys only do what needs to be done.
I send my co-​workers, friends, and even my mom to Evan’s automotive. If that doesn’t say it all, I don’t know what does!

New loyal customer for Evans Automotive. I discovered a piece had completely broken off my transmission while getting my oil changed. I freaked out because I know how much Transmissions can cost and my mechanic that I have gone to for years is over 30 miles away.
I hoped on Unilocal and found Evans. I walked in, just crossing my fingers that they would not try to screw me over because it was my first time.
However, this was not the case. I was treated like I had been going their for years. Mike walked me through a timeframe and preliminarily cost on figuring out the issue. Also, he immediately called for the part to make sure it was in stock. I was nervous because I needed my car the next morning and was nervous I would have to spend more money to rent a car. However, he called within a couple hours and told me it was finished. Quick turnaround.
Everyone there was professional and really try to make sure you are getting the best deal and quality for any problem you have.
Just moving to Orange County. I am glad to say, any more car issues and I will be coming back for sure.

I needed a quick oil change and filter change and was able to take my car in right away. I even asked to have the cabin filter replaced and they were able to order the filter and complete the work in a few hours. The guys even gave me a ride back home while I was waiting! When I went to pick up the car they took the time to talk to me about an oil leak they noticed. I will definitely plan to take my car back in as soon as possible to get this issue addressed — the service and communication was fantastic. They even have Saturday hours to make scheduling maintenance easier on those of us stuck at work during the week. Thank you guys so much, I will definitely recommend be recommended you!

In my more than four decades of visiting a large number auto repair shops, the term «honest mechanic» has become an oxymoron.
But today, the term describes Evan, who owns Evan’s Automotive, located straight across Harbor Boulevard from the 99-​cent Store.
Like visiting the dentist, taking your car to a mechanic is seldom a pleasant experience, but in my three trips to Evan’s shop this past year, he has managed to lessen the financial pain by A) charging a fair price, and B) solving the problem the first time around.
Evan always has a big smile on his face, unlike his grumpy, no-​nonsense sidekick, Mike, who, while lacking people skills, certainly knows his way around automobile troubleshooting.
Bottom line: I would no more recommend an auto mechanic than give (helpful) advice on a relationship, but I’m making an exception here:
Go see Evan.

Evan and his guys did an amazing job. They gave me some much needed info about my SUV and I really feel like they try to help their customers out, definitely relying on them for all my auto issues.

Evan always takes care of me and my car! Being a woman, I clearly don’t know what my car needs, but Evan makes sure to always keep my car in stellar condition. He’s very fair and doesn’t take advantage and is very friendly if you decide to hang out while something’s being worked on. I recommend him and his shop highly to friends and family :)

I don’t think I’ve ever referred to an automotive repair shop as a «hidden gem», so this will be a first for me. You are greeted by the owner at the door. He is smiling and friendly. As you speak with him you look into the bay area and see 2 cars, a large lawnmower and a Baja buggy. One thing becomes apparent — this guy not only knows cars — he really likes motors and engines. Then your girlfriend who you were dumb enough to bring inside with you, gives you one of those «why can’t you be more of a manly fix-​it man» looks. The owner is cool enough to let you finish talking, even though he knew what the problem was as you drove onto the lot. Best of all — the work was fast, honest, modestly priced. An honest neighborhood mechanic you always wished you had, but probably don’t deserve.

Evan is an honest guy who does good honest work. I’ll be bringing my car here for any and all maintenance.

Evan’s is one of the only honest auto repairs I’ve been to. They are detail oriented, and do the job right the first time. I was thrilled with the way my car ran when I got it back. I highly recommend Evan’s Automotive!
