Coastline ROP – Regional Occupational Program

I took the business class with a lady named Sharon Ota. She’s really nice. However, one student ruined my whole experience. During the exams, this student kept talking to me (CONSTANTLY) and try to get answers. It’s so distracting and annoying. I don’t understand why Ms. Ota would not stand up, come to the front, and stop this type of ridiculous behavior. Ugh.

So the economy tanked and I wanted to leave the advertising industry and enter the medical industry. What’s a (broke) girl to do? Go to ROP!
For only $ 40, I enrolled in a Medical Assistant Back Office program. Having attended a 4-​year university, I’m no stranger to academia. I wasn’t expecting much from a community program but I can honestly say that the education here is unparalleled. They have a stellar reputation in the medical industry and I have learned so much. Not only do we receive classroom instruction, we also get placed in externships for about three months and work in an actual doctor’s office. An equivalent education at a private vocational school would cost over $ 14,000! I’m also enrolled in a Medical Billing and Coding class, which also cost $ 40.
ROP is truly a godsend. I’ve attended the campus in Anaheim, too. They’re both phenomenal. And the best part? The education worked! I started school in September, and by May (after completing a medical terminology course, achieving my CNA license and finishing the medical assistant class) I was offered a job working at a very prestigious hospital! (I start my new job in June!)
P. S. I’m not a high school student… ROP offers classes for adults, too!
