Bob’s Sprinkler Service

I was very disappointed with Bob’s services. Although the call was answered quickly I encountered a few challenges with his services: 1. He was very demeaning to his Mexican employee. I was able to hear the way he talked to him and under no circumstances he should talk to him the way he did. 2. He charged me $ 140.00 to diagnose a problem that he couldn’t diagnose. He couldn’t determine if I had a leak or not on my sprinkler system. Over the phone he mentioned the house call was $ 45.00 which I was ok with. However after I said I was not going to replace my sprinkler system (which he quoted over $ 800.00 for) until I knew if I had a leak or not he mentioned that he had to charge me for digging dirt (a few inches deep — 30 minutes of time). When I mentioned this is the most expensive digging job I have ever paid for he said I have never had a «professional» sprinkler person dig on my yard — $ 95.00 worth of digging. I wouldn’t recommend his service. I had a second company come this afternoon. They didn’t charge me for the house call and didn’t believe I had to replace my sprinkler system — although an older system still operational.

I give BOB’S SPRINKLER SERVICE only l star because he did show up on time. There are no stars for for pricing, work, attitude; courtesy, etc. He is a rude, puffed up old man who takes advantage of the situation or sprinkler problem. I can’t believe I fell for his line of bologna. What should have cost $ 200, he charged me $ 700. WHAT A STUPID FOOL I WAS. I’m over 80 and still learning.

Was the only repairman that could finally troubleshoot the problem we were having. After several failed attempts to fix a station valve, by another highly rated sprinkler company in Orange County (whom I won’t name here and had highly rated Unilocal reviews), Bob was finally able to diagnose the problem. If you want experience and have something more complex than just fixing/​replacing a sprinkler head… then Bob’s Sprinkler Service is your company.

DO NOT use this man’s service unless you want to be ripped off while you are treated with absolute disrespect. If I could give Bob a negative 100 I would. Rude, disrespectful, ill mannered, unethical, unprofessional; shall I go on? He attempted to charge me nearly $ 1,000 for materials I found at Home Depot for a total of less than $ 100 (plus 1 ½ hours labor.) Do the math. It appears Bob’s hourly rate is beyond exorbinant.
I was appalled. I just don’t understand how someone thinks they have the right to so candidly rip someone off, without the slightest bit of concern. I was simply trying to get my sprinklers repaired and instead got a rude man whose only concern was to rip me off. Sad.

Terrible! He was so rude. When he told us that it would be $ 200 to fix a $ 20 part, my husband questioned him. He told us that we couldn’t afford him. I wish I didn’t have to give him one star.

He overcharged us for services and didn’t even fix our problem. He was rude horrible to deal with. Don’t waste your time. If there was a NO star option, I would chose that.

i’d give this guy negative stars if i could! i just called for my work because we have a bunch of timers to repair and want to try somewhere new. this guy is so FREAKING RUDE over the phone. i guess he doesn’t need to make money because i’m sure anyone can see this guy clearly doesn’t need your business. no skin off my back-​his loss!

Overpriced and rude. This morning’s visit didn’t start well when Bob was rude to my wife on the phone. Then 20 minutes after he arrived, he charged me $ 151. That included a mandatory, non-​refundable $ 45 «inspection fee,» which basically meant he turned on the switch to watch all 6 heads spraying correctly plus his full hourly rate when he was only there for 20 minutes.
The only reason I give the company 2 stars instead of 1 is that at least his Mexican helper was competent enough to finish the job fast enough so I could still get to work on time.
