I stupidly removed the mortise lock from my door without any prior knowledge. My goal was to install an electronic lock on my front door but once I realized that the space that was hollowed out for the mortise lock wouldnt allow me to install anything, I knew i was in trouble.
I called up Stan the next day and he came out within an hour even though he had many appointments lined up. When I called, Sharon, his wife, fit me right into the schedule and was very accommodating even when I had a sudden schedule change.
Call this guy for any locksmith needs. He’s a magician.

I wish I could leave more than 5 stars for Stan and Wingert’s Locksmithing. There are plenty of local locksmiths who can do a fine job of getting you back into your home if you forget your keys. But, if you need to have a lock repaired or have a complicated non-​cookie cutter project– Stan is the person to call!
The saga of my front door and how I came to find Wingert’s Locksmithing… We purchased a historic 1920’s Craftsman in Old Towne Orange. The original front door is gorgeous and charming, but the door knob was loose and didn’t really work correctly from the day we moved in. Eventually it fell off and our front door no longer opened from the inside! I consulted some highly rated on Unilocal local locksmiths and they told me that unfortunately the current door knob and lock were basically beyond repair and the parts that would be needed to fix it were no longer on the market. They suggested putting a modern lock set on the door. I eventually chose a Baldwin set that fit the style of our home. The Baldwin set we chose would have cost us upwards of $ 1000, not including installation. While discussing the installation with the previous locksmiths I had spoken with, I became concerned that they were inexperienced with installing Baldwin hardware. Although they were very nice, I didn’t feel comfortable entrusting the installation of such and expensive item to anyone who was less than an expert. A quick Unilocal search lead me to Stan!
After my initial phone call with Stan, he asked me to send me some photos of my door. I was thrilled and surprised when he called me back a few hours later to tell me that he thought he could repair the existing set that I had previously been told was unsalvageable! The Baldwin replacement set would have been beautiful, but with a historic home, it is always nice to be able to preserve original features! (And in this case it also saved us a substantial amount of money.) Not only was Stan able to repair my existing set and give me the ability to use my front door again, but he did so quickly, and for a very fair price. Contrary to the other locksmiths who said the parts necessary to fix our door were no longer available, Stan everything he needed in his truck! He also is a wealth of information about locks and hardware. He provided me with the name of Crown City Hardware in Pasadena which specializes in restoration, and even showed me how to remove the lock set myself in the event that I need to send it off for restoration. It seems as though Stan has business allover Southern California (San Diego, LA, the Anaheim Colony, etc) and it is easy to understand why! He is an expert and a total professional! His wife does his scheduling and she was also very pleasant and professional the couple of times I spoke with her on the phone. I only hope that as I continue to do work on my home, I will be able to find specialists in other trades who do their job as well as Stan does locksmithing!

Extremely happy with the service! Left a message on Sunday about a broken Baldwin front door handle. Stan returned my call, gave me a quote over the phone, and was at my house waiting for me less than 2 hours later. He charged me what he quoted me over the phone and workmanship was perfect. Repairing the door handled saved me about $ 250 vs. replacing so it was money well spent! Highly recommend!

I recently rented out a condo and the outside door handle was broken (literally torn away likely from someone trying to break in). The HOA guidelines require the door handle to be fixed to certain specs and recommended two locksmiths. I called the first guy who quoted me an unbelievable price (4 digits) because over the phone, he decided to replace the whole mechanism which was also no longer being manufactured and told me it would probably take 3 – 4 to order the parts and schedule and installation.
I decided to call Stan next. Stan did all the right things
1) He said he had to actually take a look at it to decide whether it really needed to be replaced.
2) He was willing to wait until I got out of work, had me call him, and then met me at home just as I arrived at 7pm!!!
3) Diagnosed the problem and fixed it with spare parts without replacing the whole thing.
4) Charged me a very reasonable price which saved me over 85% from the last guy.
Stan is awesome. Quick tip — even if he doesn’t pick up the phone, leave a message, he responds to his voicemails right away.

Stan is out family locksmith. He is beyond knowledgeable and very fair with pricing. We would never call anyone else. He has helped us on our previous home and was the obvious choice for our new home. He found a way to make our home safe and used high quality products.

Stan was amazing. We found ourselves locked into our condo. The lock was stuck and we could not get out. We called Stan and he was at our place within 15 minutes. He fixed the lock and didn’t try to sell us anything unnecessary. Affordable, professional, friendly and prompt. Believe me if we could give more than five stars we would!!! Stan and Sharon are great! I called because we needed all new locks and door handles downstairs and Stan came over the same evening to quote the job. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and took a lot of time to explain the differences between the different brands I was considering. Stan was great. Easy appointment made for the next day. On time, clean and professional. My parents old Baldwin lock was bent and not working well and I had tenants moving in soon. Stan came out, changed out some parts and even re-​keyed the lock on the spot. Easy to work with and my lock works great! High recommend.

Stan is the man! We’ve locked ourselves out of our house TWICE and he’s always there to save us and at a reasonable price. I think I’ve learned my lesson though and a few newly strategically placed extra keys should do the job for next time (and there will be s next time… sad but true). If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I moved into my first home a few weeks ago and Stan was able to come out within an hour of contacting him to change the lock. He provided a code to keep in case I ever needed a replacement key. At the time I didn’t really think I needed it but I am so glad he gave it to me. I stupidly locked my keys in my car and Stan was able to make me a replacement key within minutes so that I could get in my house to get my spare car keys. Stan is so nice and caring and a pleasure to do business with. He also is super fast which is a major plus! Thank you!!!

Stan was able to come out the same day I contacted him, and fixed our door handle in a snap. Not only was he clean and courteous, he went above and beyond and leveled out door so that it no longer hit the jam and now closes smoothly and quietly! I am very happy with his services and will definitely call him out again for future repairs.

Stan was great. I started off my morning by my front door key breaking off in the lock, therefore I needed someone to get that little piece out. He had the best price compared to the other locksmiths I called and he fit me in before a bigger job he had since mine was a quick fix. I’m a happy customer.

Plus, my front door wasn’t working correctly and he had the Balwin part right in his van to fix that too! It’s always a great experience with Stan and his work and knowledge is excellent. I wish there were more stars to give to Stan. We had a major problem with our new door and locks and he did an expert job making it all right. His high standards and meticulous work should be seen to be believed. This is a woulda, coulda, shoulda for sure. We should have called Stan first. He taught us a lot and his rates are reasonable.

Stan is awesome! I swear every doorknob in my house bugged me. One if the rattled, one made a clicking noise, one didn’t latch, etc. I finally got sick of it, so I attempted to dismantle one of them myself to fix it. I then got frustrated, and called a Baldwin representative. They gave me Stan’s number! I’m so glad he came over. every door opens perfectly! My contractor that installed my knobs said it was difficult;he didn’t install them right And one was even broken. Stan comes will extra parts And he’s a locksmith and was able to make universal keys for my husband and I. Stan at Wingert’s Locksmithing & Carpentry is FANTASTIC. Not only is he professional but extremely knowledgeable on all types of locks.
My front door Baldwin deadbolt became stuck in the locked position; it had been temperamental in the weeks prior. Stan was able to get it working better than new. PLUS he adjusted my other outside door locks as they were all a bit difficult to operate since the last big earthquake. It is so enjoyable to have my doors open and lock so easily.
Stan is very pleasant plus has a neat & clean work-​style. He goes out of his way with little extras that make the locks glide and educating me on how to operate my locks with little stress. He even fixed my dog’s screen door entry that had come off during the earthquake plus called another manufacturer to order, not one but two so I have a back up, small screws for a deadbolt knob.

We wanted to have our doors that won’t stay in place hang correctly and Stan was able to make these doors stay in place, so now my doors stay open and stopped swinging wide. I have also had all my door knobs replaced and he recommended the appropriate knobs, ordered it and replaced all my doorknobs. He also recommended chrome for the bathroom, since it stands up better in moisture and we left the doorknobs to my rooms brass knobs to be consistent with the knobs in the house. The knob combination works and it was because of his recommendation that I learned the importance of the knob combination. He even came back to adjust one of the doors that was not latching properly. Stan takes pride in workmanship. Would recommend him and will use him as long as he is in business. I’m a customer for life.

Stan and Sharon are the best. We live in LA county, Baldwin Hardware Co highly recommended Wingert’s regardless of the distance. Stan came within 24 hours on a Saturday and repaired my 30 year old Mortice lock on front entry that so many locksmiths have failed before him. Stan was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and dependable. Everything you need when you want someone you can totally trust in a locksmith and more. His service was so impressive, I have to write my first review to share with everyone.
