Apex Driving School

James was excellent! Very calm and patient with my daughter! Made her feel confident in her driving abilities.

I finished my 6 hours with Apex driving school yesterday and was so happy with the result. James is very nice and is great at keeping the new driver calm and collected. I was very nervous to start lessons and am really glad I chose Apex driving school, now I feel confident on the road. James really is knowledgable about road rules and explains them very well. I will be recommending James to friends and family who need driving lessons. Thanks so much!

My 3^rd son passed his first behind the wheel test yesterday with only 4 points off. James has done an amazing job with my boys and it shows as they all have passed on their first try.

Jim was a very patient instructor and really put my daughter at ease. She passed her first time. I highly recommend Apex for anyone in need of driving lessons.

I’ll be honest, I don’t write reviews but after having 6 hr lessons with James and another 2 ½ hrs at the DMV, he is definitely worth taking the time to write this review. Only because this is the most time I’ve spent with a stranger (who is no longer one!) and he certainly made a lasting impression! SUCH a nice guy!
He was definitely the kind of instructor I was looking for. Someone who was patient and lenient with me. I can’t handle anybody that is strict or lack social skills because it would make my driving experience worse! I’ve had multiple permits but never had the courage to step further in getting behind-​the-​wheel so I called a couple of schools. What sold me was his inexpensive package! Other places charge you more… unfortunately…
And on my first try I got my license today!!! SOOOOO HAPPY!!! :D
I HIGHLY recommend him! Only because he actually does care and he tries to make it a fun experience which was a plus. Definitely one of the most interesting people I’ve met. Haha.

I found James/​Apex driving school through Unilocal.I am so glad I called him. Before I found Apex, I was hesitant to think that a stranger would take my teen son alone driving, but once I met James, that was not even a concern anymore. He made us feel very comfortable and was flexible with lesson times and even pick up locations. He took time to explain things and the hows and whys of not only the vehicle functions but road rules and safety. After each lesson James took time to talk to my son about the lesson and what he could do to improve which was very helpful. He was very clear with us at the end of the third lesson that our son was ready to pass the test but that the more practice my son had, the better he will be no just when taking the test but in the long run. He encouraged us to continue practicing with our son. James did not have my son’s certificate arrive on time for my sons’s driving test which meant we had to reschedule the test date and for that reason, he offered to take him for a free one hour lesson in which he went above and beyond taking him not just a round my home, but actually a few cities away to where my son had scheduled his driving test and took him through the DMV route. I appreciated this because to me it meant James cares about his students and helping them succeed. James was AWESOME. My son passed his test with an excellent score and I will call him again when for my daughter. I am very happy with his service.

James is an excellent instructor. I barely knew anything about driving and as scared about my first lesson, but he makes you feel comfortable and not nervous at all. I highly recommend this driving school for anyone who is trying to learn or wants more practice on driving. Price was pretty reasonable.

I am not a US native. I worked in Irvine for 6 months. James taught me the basics of being a defensive driver. The classes were friendly and informative. I own a car now and I am now a good driver, thanks to James. Highly recommended for anyone looking for driving classes.

So glad I called here for driving lessons for my daughter! I searched Unilocal reviews and talked to friends to get a good idea of what is available. I heard from many (and saw in the reviews) about schools where the instructors speak little English and/​or have the teen drive them around on their errands for their «lesson»! Not James, he took my daughter through neighborhoods on busy main streets and on the freeway (I’m not brave enough to take her on the Fwy yet!!) and on her final lesson took her through the route that our local DMV will take her out on for her test drive.
Soon my son will be ready for his lessons and I will be right back at Apex!

James was a great driving instructor. My son learned quickly from him and passed his driving test on the first try.
I really liked that he came to our home to pick up my son too. Very convenient and thorough driving lessons. I would recommend him to anyone needing behind the wheel training.

I had explained to this school that my wife was very nerves and what would it take to have her pass the driving test and that I was not going to be able to help her. They said 3 lessens I can get her to pass and at 5 I can make her a very good driver. at the 5^th lessens I decided to go for a test drive she couldn’t even stay within the lines and stop on a line. So I talked to the instructor that I was not happy and that the driving test was a week away he offered a lower rate for two more lessons. She failed her driving test I texted the instructor and I was not happy he texted that maybe I should help her wow.
I next test I went with a different school for two lesson I could see that my wife’s confidence went sky high I asked what was the difference she said that the instructor really explained every thing to her and she pasted the test.
So I fill if you really know how to drive and just need to practice go with Apex but if you really want to learn I would not recommend them I fill we wasted a lot of time and money and I explained every thing up front to them before we started.

I took driving classes from James he is really professional and makes you feel really comfortable when driving. Thank you James so much for helping me get my license.

Our daughter enjoyed her experience with James. She learned a lot, he was very professional and patient, and the price was reasonable. James worked around her schedule and went out of his way to come at 7am one morning because that’s the only time she could do. Our daughter passed her drivers test with flying colors. I highly recommend James and his services.

We couldn’t be happier with our decision to use Apex! We had a great experience with James as our son’s driving instructor. He puts customer service and business ethics back on the map. He was always quick to respond to my calls or texts, flexible regarding scheduling appointments, prompt, and knowledgeable. I always felt that my son was safe driving with James during their 2 hour lessons. In addition, James would spend time after their lesson to talk with us about how our son did and what he needed to work on. Our son just passed his driver’s test with almost a perfect score! Most importantly, when our son asked for our car keys for the first time, I felt confident in handing them over to him. Thank you James for all of your time and care! We will definitely recommend Apex to everyone we know!

My son had a great experience with Jim as his driving instructor. He enjoyed the driving time, and Jim was personable and easy to talk to while doing an excellent job of teaching proper driving skills. For my son’s last lesson, Jim did a «mock» driving test, driving around the area of the DMV. My son passed with a 99%, and I am confident that he received excellent instruction and will be a safe driver.
