AFTER waiting 15 minutes for fish and chips, I was told there were no chips, but I could have something else. Things like that have been happening more and more frequently here. So do they offer a little concession, like most places of business would? Never, not even an apology. NOTEVENANAPOLOGY. I’ve overlooked incidents like this a number of times. Enough. And one time the fish and chips were awful — too much batter and not cooked enough. .. gross. .. really gross. .. inedibly gross.

The best quality fish and friendly service. So happy they are in my neighborhood! Stopped in last week and picked up a tuna steak. The fish monger gave me a simple recipe to try since I had never cooked it at home. Turned out perfect. Many times I run in here to get a sushi roll for lunch. Fresh and some of the most Creative rolls around. Only wish Fjord would stay open an hour later till 8 so I could grab dinner to go on the way home from work.

The shop floor is concrete and had just been hosed down and washed. There were still little puddles lobsters in a tank, cream white scallops, beautiful deep tuna steaks. Everything. Check it out. Fiord dip/spread $ 18.99 pound but I would treat myself to half a pound. All raw waiting for somebody to take them home and cook them. I’d skip whole foods fish any day for this. My daughter gets fish from whole foods and it smells terrible. I would shop here. PLUS they have delicious salty shortbread cookies that are also to die for. My kids now get their sushi and fish there. Actually one opened in Darien CT so they use that.

Very unhappy with their catering service, which they are reportedly hoping to build. We hired them to cater our wedding reception in Greenwich(food and servers) this summer; provided them with the number of guests and therefore relied on them to order sufficient food. Guests did not receive food, and Fjords, which promoted themselves as knowing how much food to order and how to serve people, is responsible. When we complained to Fjords that they should have provided enough food– or at a minimum instructed their servers to serve everyone once before doling out seconds, they should have known how to do that. Upon our complaint, Fjords offfered to take a few hundred dollars off a tab that was in excess of several thousand dollars. I would not use them again.

Excellent selection of fresh fish and take-out items with an emphasis on traceability. Easily the nicest display of seafood I have ever seen. Will be back soon!

Great store! Good service & high quality. This place is a delight. The sushi is also amazing– and the folks who make it couldn’t be nicer. Love this place.

Stopped by this place when we were in the area, and all I can say is «fresh!!!» Their seafood was so fresh and delicious. My husband and I could definitely taste the quality of the food, compared to other fish markets who claim their seafood is fresh. Customer service was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Displays were beautiful and we even bought some of their sauces, which were delicious. If you’re looking for fresh seafood, definitely stop by this market. Great experience, excellent food, and friendly staff. We will be coming back for sure!

Absolutely the best place around for fresh seafood! Try the marlin dip for a divine experience. You will be addicted. Also they are expanding into other foodstuffs, and have incredible garlic bread that you just stick in the oven to warmup. Anytime I need a specialty ingredient or food item, I often can find it there. Like truffle salt, herring, gjetost(carmelized Scandanavian whey cheese). The fresh meats look good too although have not tried them yet. On the pricier side, but its seafood so you want the freshest and high quality items.

Local Greenwich fishmonger with a Scandinavian flair. They will give you recipes and tips and let you know which fish is best when and they sell a selection of delicious home made sauces. Try the simple Gorgonzola salad and home made guacamole.

Expensive for fresh fish and the ‘hot’ fry ups suck The chips are soggy and the crappy seasoning they put in the batter for the fish is gross… leave it for the chicken strips dude!

A couple of weeks ago, a colleague of mine who lives in Stamford asked me to come over for dinner, so I decided to take the train up from Manhattan to join them for a private soirée. Given the fact that they were providing the booze, I decided to supply the entrée, for which she introduced me to Fjord Fisheries. If you want the freshest high quality seafood and steaks in the Stamford, CT area, look no further. The oysters I ordered were freshly shucked on site. The salmon was line caught and outstanding. And my friend bought a little jar of truffle salt which was phenomenal. Yup, they even have a certain selection of condiments and items that may compliment your cooking. With that said, I wish Fjord was a bit closer, for it is guaranteed to have a good selection of fish and seafood that will suit your needs. In the meantime, I suppose I can take the train to the Chelsea market to get my seafood needs!
