Anne-​Frans is a Bay Area treasure. Not only has she been trained around the world, she is compassionate, creative, and a great communicator. I hired her for private training for my rescue, Charlie. I need specific guidance working with him as I was trying to give him commands and he was not responding. After private training, Anne-​Frans was not just a dog whisperer, seeing how Charlie was responding, but a people whisperer, helping me to be the best owner with a set of communications and commands that were appropriate and specific. I was able to shift from «problem dog» to a best friend who is so easy to get along with. This is the kind of gift that Anne-​Frans is. I go back to Anne-​Frans whenever I have a need for further training (which comes up with rescues sometimes). She has also provided boarding services and although Charlie is often nervous in new places, he bounds out of the car excitedly when he gets to Anne-​Frans’ well-​appointed home and attached dog ranch. The Running Dog Ranch gets my highest rating. They operate with excellence and care.

My friend has a dog who just LOVES Anne-​Frans at Running Dog! She is THE BEST! Her dog gets to run in the hills and through the trees. He is crazy excited every time she comes to pick him up at my friend’s store. He loves her and so do we.
I HIGHLY recommend Running Dog to anyone who really loves their dog and wants to give him/​her the best life possible.

We chose to try The Running Dog Ranch based on Unilocal reviews and we were not disappointed. Anne-​Frans is fantastic! Her energy and enthusiasm with both dogs and people is contagious. She knows just what to do for any issues we have with our dog. My Labrador just loves her and we learned so many new techniques to train our very stubborn young pup. I highly recommend The Running Dog Ranch, not only for Anne-Frans’s great training but also because she is a great person!

Anne is an incredible person and an amazing animal behaviorist. She is very astute and tuned into every animals individual needs. She has a beautiful and intuitive way that allows them to feel comfortable and strong. My dog was a rescue and has high emotional needs. He lacked trust and confidence with people and other dogs. Within the first week of working with Anne he had already shown tremendous improvement and growth. Anne is very unique to her field and I trust her implicitly with my dog. She has personally given me more independence in my life. I now have someone who I can rely on who adores my pet just as much as I do. She will change your life forever in the most wonderful way.

How does this company not have a ton of reviews? Maybe because as owners who rely on Anne-​Frans and her incredible dog whispering skills we are greedy and would rather not tell the whole world…
My new pup loves her. He is a black lab, so you are thinking labs love everyone… especially if they have treats, and talk in a high baby voice. Yes, but not so… my dog is a rescue, with a weird frightened personality, whose been abandoned so many times he is scared of wind, noise and his own shadow… You’ll know us because I am the girl dragging my poor dogs bare ass across asphalt because he refuses to walk and I refuse to get my carpets cleaned again… have I set the scenario?
The first time he ever meets Anne-​Frans and her awesome pack… my furson jumps out of the backseat faster than I can say «what the hell? Who is this imposter?» He barrels up the trail, tail waggin like it had never been broken, by her side appreciating the morsels of kibble she sporadically offers. At this point I’m half happy and half kind of pissed because he is making me, the one who made the desperate call to Anne Frans a week ago, look like like a liar. When pressed to offer her dog wisdom she simply says «I just operate on the premise everyone’s going to walk and get along» and they do. So clearly she’s holding out… because please, it can’t be that easy…;)
Barney had more exercize that evening than he has had the six weeks I have had him. AND that wasn’t even an official walk. She did that just to make sure me and my dog were comfortable with her. Gasp! (forget the other place who shall not be named, who wanted to charge me $ 25 for an interview)
A few days later I left Barney overnight. Our schedules couldn’t quite match up so she offered to pick him up. He stayed at her home with a few other dogs, her own and some boarders, for a movie night doggie slumber party… and was returned the following day, just a little dustier for the wear… and so happy.
It is like pinnochio when he turned into a boy… barney feels like he is now «a real dog.» And I finally I have a place that I know will not only make sure Barney doesn’t die while under their supervision, but cares about him, walks him and trains him… Really, couldn’t be happier.

Anne-​Frans has both boarded, trained and run my Rhodesian Ridgebacks Lois and Clark on several occasions. She is incredibly loving with them. Rhodesian’s are quite picky on their company, but they took to Anne-​Frans immediately. I trust her completely and no worries while my dogs are in her care. Anne-​Frans actually gives my tireless dogs a workout — they run like the wind together! I highly recommend The Running Dog Ranch for training, boarding and exercise sessions.

Anne-​Frans is not only a fantastic dog trainer, but someone that I think is just a fantastic person. She has an amazing energy that exudes happiness, enthusiasm and trust. My dog loves her and after the first session together, he already learned a lot.
My dog is a rescue that I’ve had for 4 months and he was still very hyper in some situations especially when my 8 year old son was riding his bike ahead of us. He was anxious and wanted my son to stay close, and so he’d bark and jump in circles if my son was not close by. Anne-​Frans has helped us calm him down and he will now walk nicely on his leash when my son is ahead. We are still working on other behaviors such as lunging at other dogs while on leash, but it is all getting better — even after only 2 sessions.
I highly recommend you call Anne-​Frans for dog training. She is professional, a great communicator, and wonderful with dogs and people.

I thought my dog Mighty Miss was obedient before she hung out with Ms. Anne-​Frans but after her first few sessions the difference was day and night. She didn’t need repeated commands to begrudgingly obey but immediately came when I called her and stayed by my side as we walked.
I appreciated the kind yet firm approach Anne-​Frans took training both Mighty and myself so I could continue being a good influence at home. AND there’s nowhere else I would rather leave my dog when I’m out-​of-​town or have a long workday than at Running Dog Ranch.
Once you try Running Dog Ranch you and your dog will go no other place for training or boarding.

Our 1 year old Lab Mix Maddie had a wonderful time @ The Running Dog Ranch. We boarded her for 1 week and she was so happy being with Anne-​Frans dogs Cole & Kaya. Maddie got so much exercise and had lots of toys and space for playing. Maddie came home having learned new training skills and loved being with the family. Anne-Frans’s skills with dogs makes for a great boarding experience.
