A French-​American home-​based preschool with emphasis on art, academics and respect. We are a hybrid of play-​based and Montessori philosophies. Children who attend L’Ecole des Petits are individually catered to — academically, emotionally and socially. We have a wonderful large outdoor space as well as our indoor classrooms, and a lot of schoolwork is done outside during the warmer months.

History

Established in 2007.

Tina was born and raised in France and moved to the US 32 years ago. She holds a Masters degree in Art Therapy and Special Education from the University François Rabelais in France. She taught French at Dominican University for one year and also ran an after school art program prior to opening L’Ecole des Petits in 2007.

Tina’s Personal Philosophy — «Because young children are so influenced by the mood of their surroundings, I have created a very special place where children can grow and blossom as a whole human being. A warm, caring and secure environment, a home away from home for children that still need a lot of tender– loving-​care and where parents can drop by anytime until they feel that it is ok to let go for a few hours. My main goal is to create a respectful, caring and loving community for the children, parents and educators.»

Tina has a love for education. She has been working with young children for over three decades and has learned very valuable skills as to how to work effectively with them. She has a Master’s degree in Art Therapy and Special Education and has found this extremely helpful in her work not only with the students but also in helping young parents to go through the process of separation from their young child when they enter preschool.
