Kid’s Corner

Scheduled a tour, and when I got there she met me at the door and said she had filled the spot and tried to call me to tell me. She said she may have an opening a couple months later, so I said that may work can we do the tour now and if it comes open I will be ready to go. She said no, she/​the place was not ready, and we could schedule for another day. I went back to my car, checked my phone and there was no call or message from her — I drove 30mins to this tour. More importantly, ANY caregiver that will not let you into their space should be watched. There should ALWAYS be an open door policy with caregivers and your children, and nothing should need to be «prepped» for you to view the space. This sent up many red flags and I will not be going back.

I cannot say enough great things about Kids Corner! Angela and her staff were always professional and caring and my daughter leaped into their arms every morning. It’s hard to find someone that offers a warm, safe and clean environment, all of which Kids Corner offers.
As a new mom going back to work, Angela was very comforting and reassuring of my daughters experience and left me with a calm feeling each day. I highly recommend them for any new mom that is worried about finding a place to put her new baby, it was one of the hardest things i’ve ever done and I am so thankful that we found Angela. Their space is very similar to a preschool with learning opportunities throughout and a wonderful garden and outdoor play area. I loved getting videos of my daughter on the swings and in music class!
Unfortunately we moved and needed find a new daycare closer to home, it was incredibly hard leaving even thought we had only been there for 6 months.

Angela and staff cared for our son for more than 2 years. It was a great experience and as first time parents and reflecting on our time there — because it’s everyone’s experience not just our son’s — we have so many fond memories. Angela and her family and staff are wonderful. Our son is extremely well adjusted, headed to pre-​school, and he loves everyone there very much. We absolutely recommend Kid’s Corner.
Angela would send us short bursts of activity via video a few times a week. This was great and really welcomed. The kids do yoga, music, take trips to the library, park, and farmer’s market. There was definitely no sitting around to pass the time.
Verbal communication has at times been an issue. Specifically around deposits, how much money is owed end of month for extra time spent, etc. But I hold us as parents accountable for some of this as well. I chalk most of it up to simply the fact that Kid’s Corner is a small, family run business. It’s not their strength, and honestly their strengths lay in all the right places; taking care and loving for my kid (s). So if you run into some of this don’t sweat it.
Advice to new parents here: Make sure you readily have all contracts and paperwork signed and easy to access. Reflecting, I should have carried copies of all up-​to-​date contracts in my car for quick access. There is nothing more uncomfortable than trying to discuss fees, paid vacation days, contracts, etc., when kids are all in the door way and parents are trying to drop off or pick up. So just be ready!

It’s scary finding someone to trust with your new little person. We understand this and don’t take writing a recommendation for Angela and her staff lightly.
Our son started at Kid’s Corner when my wife ended maternity leave. He was just a tiny little baby. Two and a half years later, he «graduated» to preschool and could not be a happier, more well adjusted little guy. He loved Angela’s and we have felt completely comfortable taking him there every day. Especially when starts talking about getting there while we’re still in the car and leaps out to run up to the door and (try to) ring the doorbell. Now that he can communicate, we have learned what a great environment it was for him. Angela and her staff genuinely care about the children and provide an excellent environment for them to develop.
A favorite aspect for us was receiving videos during the day of activities such as baby yoga, lunch or music. Not only did it reassure us to see our child smiling and having so much fun but they serve as great memories to watch him grow over the past couple of years.
Angela also provides amazing, organic, home cooked food for the little ones. You’ll often see the organic farm delivering vegetables to the door.
The only considerations you might take would be that the communication is very casual and predominately verbal (I prefer this, but my wife needed reassurance). If you are okay with sharing information this way and planning as such, you’ll be fine. Recently, they have began to post the menu so you know what your child is eating daily without asking. Some of the staff speaks only Spanish, if you have some basic words, you can ask about naps, eating, etc., otherwise, you can ask Angela or Nicole.
Also, there is some turnover with the staff. Initially, we were concerned. Our son became very attached to some of them. Over time, it turned out that this has made transitions much easier for him such as meeting new teachers at preschool now.
Overall, an excellent and cherished experience. We would not hesitate to send any other children we might have…

Look no further for wonderful childcare! We simply could not have had a better experience than the one we’ve had at Kids Corner. Angela and her team are so loving and caring, it truly feels like a home away from home for your children. We never had to worry that our son (who started at just three-​months-​old) was getting the attention and care and appropriate development he needed. When he was small, they have a wonderful baby area where he was free to learn to crawl and eventually climb and walk. Now that he’s older, he loves to be outside in the garden where they plant seeds and do crafts and have a lot of activity time. He also loves the special teachers that are brought in to do yoga and sing songs and tell stories. And he loves the regular teachers who treat him as is he’s their own. He doesn’t even look back to say goodbye in the morning he’s so happy to be at school each day.
We love the photos and videos that are emailed to us. We love that Angela and her team helped get us on a schedule. We love the smiling faces of the children that greet us at the door at pickup time and that such a wonderful place exists where kids are safe, happy, loved and free to learn. We couldn’t make a stronger recommendation for childcare.

We are so happy to have had Kid’s Corner in our life! Our daughter loved it there – she always ran through the door when we dropped her off and was always happy when we picked her up. Angela and her team provide wonderful care, and I was so grateful and relieved to have people I could trust to look after and care for my baby. The space is wonderful also – there’s a great main playroom with a separate section for small babies to play in, there is also a special room for babies to sleep in, which was great when she was younger. The backyard is a child’s fantasy with toys and bikes to play on and an organic garden to garden in. Every week we got videos of yoga classes, art projects, reading time – watching your kid have fun makes it easier to leave them behind. We couldn’t have been happier and we highly recommend Kid’s Corner to anyone looking for a daycare!

Angela and staff do a terrific job making sure that the environment is interactive, safe, and kid appropriate. The crew couldn’t be nicer, and it was comforting to see the videos day to day over email showing the kids engaged in music, arts, etc. I think you’ll be impressed with the environment, the activities they choose to do, and the overall atmosphere and professionalism.

My son went to Kid’s Corner for three months. While the staff and management was sweet and professional, we left because of concerns over the ratio of staff to children, staff retention and communication. Often the staff was vague in telling me how the day went for my son which is a bit difficult when trying to understand sleep patterns of a five month old. It also made me a little nervous. Although, I trust the care at kid’s corner was well intentioned, it was not the best fit for our family.

I currently have 2 children at Kids Corner. My son is 2.5 yrs old and my daughter is 8 months. When my son first starting going to Kids Corner we were very nervous, I was a new mom and I was very apprehensive about returning to work and being away from my son all day. That quickly resided. Angela and Santa are amazing. I am so impressed with how they interact with the children. When your child spends 9 hrs a day, 5 days a week with people other than their parents, you have to trust that those looking out for your children share the same values. I watch my son interact with children at the play ground or our friend’s children and I am amazed at well he plays with others. As much as I would love to take credit, I have to hand it to Kids Corner for helping teaching my son how to share and treat people.
When my daughter was born last year I found it much easier returning to work knowing my daughter was in good hands (not to mention how excited my husband was because Angela has this magic touch to get babies into a sleeping schedule).
Angela and Santa feel like extended family and I would highly recommend Kids Corner to any parent.
