Mohr Power Solar

Our sales rep (Nancy Cohee) was very friendly and professional. Our PV system was installed several years ago, and we have been saving over 50% on our utility bill every year. We also had them come back and install the Heliocol solar system for our pool, and my wife really appreciates the warm water to swim in all summer long. Have referred them to all my friends who expressed interest.

Great job on my solar panels.
It’s been 7 years and I am sure they paid themselves off by now.
I’m happy there has been no issues with them and they still perform the same as when you installed them.

Mohr Solar installed solar pool heating panels on my roof in July, 2015. They are a Heliocol authorized dealer. That is the best solar pool heating system on the market. Mohr Solar had the best price. The installers were VERY kind, honest and friendly. They did an excellent job on the installation and finished all of the areas well. They even left me a few extra roof tiles in case I needed them down the road. They did think the job would only take 1 – 2 days, but it ended up taking almost 4 days. That’s ok, because they made sure the job was done right and that’s why I took the time to write this review. 6 months later the system is still running with no problems at all.

I had solar panels installed in 2002 and have never had any problems. Everything went smoothly and they must have done it right because it has worked flawlessly. I would highly recommend this company. I have a 1921 home in a historic district, so the house will never be very energy efficient, but by installing solar panels, I feel better about my energy usage. I’ve worked with lots of contractors, but this was one of those rare experiences where everything went perfectly.

I feel the Mohr Power staff is committed to operating with honesty, integrity and professionalism. Each person on the staff that we met and spoke with treated us as they would want to be treated! If you want a friendly place, that knows the Solar Business for more then 30 years, I purchase a 7kw system from Mohr Power, the service was spot on, the install was timely, and the follow thru was a class act. The also do pool solar systems, with so many fly by night places out their I would recommend a company that’s been around more then 6 months, what’s a 10 year warranty worth if the company isn’t around to back it?

In April 2012 we had a salesman from Mohr Power come out to our home to discuss installation of a solar system to drastically reduce our electric bill. He reviewed some of our electric bills, which are always high; I am heat intolerant, so the house stays below 70 degrees; and on the care program. By the way our home is almost 4k sq. ft.
Mr. Michael Rocky St Pierre explained to us that we would be able to take advantage of the hero program to install enough solar panels to completely cover our winter usage and drastically reduce our summer usage, to the extent that we would be receiving credit with SCE from the winter that would more than compensate for the summer. When you have solar, SCE bills you once a year and they give you 20 days to pay it; our electric bill came in at $ 5,600.00.
Since our installation I have had 3 other companies come to my home to try and help me fix this issue, but found that Mohr Power maxed out the amount that the hero program would cover. The first thing out of all their mouths was where are the rest of your panels?
I allowed them to review our paper work and hands down they all said you got severely hosed; you were over charged per panel as well as the installation of the panels.
I spoke with Mr. Mohr regarding this matter and even sent him an image of the immense electric bill, he apologized for not returning our many messages since the system was installed. Mr. Mohr also told me that he would like to see what can be done, so he would be sending out his best representative. Further more he stated that there was no room on our roof to install more panels, which is kind of funny that all the other homes in our neighbor hood have panels front and back on all of their roofs. Surprise, surprise, surprise no one has called us back nor come to our home regarding this mess.
At this point in the game our system that has put us in the hole for $ 21,336.00 doesn’t even cover an ¹⁄₈^th of our usage, so not only do we face paying that off but the intense SCE bill as well.

I want to say, «Thank You Mohr Power Solar!» Your professionalism is so greatly appreciated by me and my family. Since day 1 two years ago when I began collecting estimates for solar power and doing much research on solar companies, your company not just met my expectations but in all aspects exceeded those expectations. It was comforting doing business with a company that has been an advocate for the solar industry not because it may now be popular but a company that has been in the solar industry for many years. Once the decision was made to move forward with Mohr Power Solar it didn’t take long before our system was completed. From the front office to the installation staff I was fully informed of the process and all of my questions were answered. The system looks great and I am so excited to see the electric meter moving backwards and producing power.

I am really disappointed in Mohr Power Solar for a variety of reasons– from the initial sales meeting, follow up and now a barrage of calls to sign me up.
I initially met with them a few months back based off the recommendation of a friend. The meeting went fine except the fact that the sales rep said he could not give me any estimates or paperwork that day– I could just take pictures with my phone of his documents (strange?) He said he might be able to email them to me, I gave him my email. Days went by with no email. I called him, he said he didn’t have my email and he wrote it down again. We did this twice until I called his office and gave it to his assistant (whom has since not emailed me as well).
I wanted more clarification on the monthly payment if I financed. I called the sales rep and he said he really needed to come to my house to explain «the complicated paperwork.» I am sure he just wanted to close me in person. I assured me I could understand whatever he sent so he took a week and sent over a PDF document of the most complex set of numbers that I have ever seen. He said there were so many variables and it depended on A, B, C… He finally gave me an «estimate» of what I would pay monthly (this was for JUST the solar, not extra electricity). Crazy huh?
So my solar plans go on hold for a variety of reasons. THEN the calls start. His assistant begins to call me almost non stop. She calls about 2 – 3 times per week for the first few weeks. I get in touch with the sales rep and let him know I am on hold, please no more calls. The assistant continues to call me. I answered and said that I told the sales rep to stop calling, she said «Oh he is just very busy and probably forgot to tell me» That was the WORST excuse in my book. I am meticulous in follow up and this made me so mad.
Finally I answer one day and let her know to stop calling, I would be in touch if I needed further assistance. She lays off for a few weeks but now the calls have started again. She is calling twice per week, its infuriating!!! I figure I will post this review in the hopes that they will realize that their lack of communication when I needed it coupled with the over communication when I don’t need it tells me that they are NOT the company I would like to work with.
I should note that I got another quote during this time from LA Solar Group (very highly rated on Unilocal). The rep came to my home while I was at work (very convenient), ran my numbers with me simply emailing him SCE bills and produced a detailed PDF that was emailed to me within days. I told him I was also on hold and they have NEVER called. I am so impressed.
MOHR power continues to call. When will they get the hint?

bad customer service! i’ve left3 messages and have send a few online request for someone to contact me about a quote and i have yet to receive a call. There are plenty of solar places to go to, do not go with these guys

Not only am I SOO grateful for the professionalism and expert service, I am ecstatic for the results of my new Solar System that you so expertly and expeditiously installed! I wish I was able to post my projected electric bill on here ! My electric bill BEFORE Solar was $ 400.00-$ 950! NOW it is minus $ 11.00!!! yes thats right i have a CREDIT of $ 11.00!!! These people are very long on promises and very short on action. I was told all of the good things that they would do when servicing the Heliocoil Solar System for my pool. When they showed up for the service call, they did nothing of what was promised. Don’t waste your money on these frauds.
