Not every doctors office has a consultation fee on your first visit but this office does! They do not tell you when you book your appointment, arrive for your appointment nor checkout. I believe patients should be made aware of fees they will be paying. I discussed this with office staff upon receiving a surprise bill and asked them to write off the consultation balance that is not covered and they refused. Therefore, I cancelled all three surgeries for gum grafting, etc. that both myself and my daughter had scheduled. Also, expect to wait past your appointment– we waited an hour past ours. Doctors seemed nice though.

Dr. Minutello has done three implants for me over the past 20 years. They all turned out great and the process went smoothly every time. His office coordinated very well with my general dentist who did the permanent crowns. I drove an hour for appointments with Dr. Minutello. I highly recommend him to other seniors who are facing tooth loss and want an implant as the solution.

I highly recommend Dr. Minutello! My son, who has many oral sensitivity issues and is not an easy patient, needed nine gum grafts and one bone graft. After researching periodontist so in LA, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties, we decided on Dr. Minutello. His office is comfortable and the staff warm and welcoming. Dr. Minutello explained our options in detail and made sure to answer all our questions. He made my son feel comfortable, called later to be sure there were no complications, and even sent my son an encouraging note.
We will definitely go to Dr. Minutello for any future periodontal needs.

I had to have a frenectomy and gingival graft done. The frenectomy hurt as expected for about a week especially when I would smile, but I kept on my schedule of ibuprofen and salt water rinses as prescribed and did just fine. About a month later I went back and had the grafting done to the same area, and I went into my appointment pretty nervous because I was anticipating the pain. I took an ibuprofen prior to heading in and I was in barely any pain. The second surgery was much easier than the first & I lived off of smoothies and creamed soups for a little while until I got the all clear. The hardest part was not being able to floss or brush my teeth in that area for a few weeks. The night of my second surgery I got a voicemail from Dr. Minutello calling to check on me and make sure I was doing ok, and about a week later I received a nice card in the mail signed by all of the staff members. They went above and beyond!!! Also the entire staff are always so friendly and personable, it makes you look forward to coming in. Thank you all for the excellent care

Highly highly recommend Dr. Minutello. Friendly and professional staff. I had both the bone grafting and implant done here and both procedures went smoothly with no problems at all. I tried getting my implant done at another office and it was a fat fail because the dentist there didn’t know what he was doing (see my reviews for more details). Dr. Minutello’s X-​ray showed that I had a gapping hole in the area I was trying to get an implant and would need the grafting in order for the implant to hold. He also said the grafting the previous office gave me wasn’t nearly enough to hold the implant :/​
Since I was traumatized from the last dentist, I was offered a sedative to take for both procedures to calm my nerves. It worked wonderfully and I was in a nice calm state throughout. Before going in, they asked me what I wanted to listen to on pandora and I just threw out the first artist I could think of in my drugged state: Lady Gaga.
Both times, my mouth healed quickly and painlessly and now I have the smile I’ve been working towards after about 4 long years. Yay! Thanks Dr. Minutello and staff!

Highly recommend coming here! James & his wife Regna are so pleasant, as well as all of the staff! My dentist referred me to them because i had recession in my tooth which was causing my root to be exposed. This could lead to tooth loss & that freaked me out! I had the procedure done by Dr. James and an assistant (i forgot her name) but they made me feel so comfortable, as a matter of fact i was being entertained by there humor. a little hard to laugh when my mouth is being worked on but i still was, and it was a great distraction for me. I experienced pain after, just like anyone would after having work on there mouth but i began to slowly heal, unfortunately after a few check ups, we noticed that we didn’t get the coverage we needed on the tooth. So Dr. Regna repositioned my gums at no cost to see if we can get better coverage and healing this time. Once again i felt so comfortable and calm, i actually feel no pain at all, no swelling or bruising. It was quick & easy! I never write Unilocal reviews this is my first time, but i decided to do this after both times when they personally called me later on those days just to check up on me to make sure i was ok! Talk about amazing customer service. They genuinely care about YOU & your health. I know having any kind of surgery or procedure done can be expensive but they also provide a website for you called care
to help make payments for the cost. I Thank you all again so much for taking such good care of me! :)

My wife had a pulsating molar and so I called around via the Unilocal community reviews looking any general dentist on short notice. No dice. My bro-​in-​law (surgical dentist) in Mexico City, was called and he recommended a periodontist instead of a regular dentist based on my wife’s dental history. So I go back to Unilocal and there are very few out there on Unilocal so this will serve as a stake in the sand for future patients looking for a periodontist in the Inland Empire area. The problem had nothing to do with the tooth but a bacteria problem between the gum and the tooth (not the roots but under the top of the tooth). She was loosing her jaw bone and gum due to smoking. The morning began with focusing on the tooth but we really focused on the wrong thing. The great thing in all of this is that we were able to find the correct specialist that matched my wife’s circumstances. Most people would have burned two or three days in getting into a dentist office then they would have been referred to someone like Dr. Minutello. Most folks do not go direct to a periodontist.
The hour and a half mouth check and x-​rays went for $ 221 cash. We have no insurance. I wonder if insurance would even pay for something specialized like this but I’m sure there is a policy out there for the price.
We have just begun this process. The doctor will be reviewing the x-​rays and get back together with us for a plan of attack that will fit our budget and allow my wife to walk around town without looking like chupitos. I am going with four stars because we are at the beginning of the relationship and I have no other periodontist to compare him to.

We ended up needing about six implants (and crowns for each) along with some bone graphing. Your pricing here in the states are going to runs like this: Implants (Insert and post) about $ 4,000 each. Crowns will set you back about $ 8,000-$ 11,000 each. Our next problem was funds to pay for everything. Dr. Minutello began the process of doing about four implants and adding a few bone graphs. He went after the most difficult implants to place first. My bro in law did three more implants and finished the crowns. All of this took about a year in order for the gums to heal up and then get the abutments (posts) and crowns done.
If you can afford it Dr. Minutello is the person for the implants as for the crowns you are on your own. He sent us to a guy in Upland and they were $ 11,000 each. On other detail about the Doctor, my wife felt very little pain after the dope wore off. He did a lot of work at one time and to have someone being relatively pain free a couple days latter was magic. The guy knows what he is doing.
OK, now if you were like me and did not have $ 50,000 to spend on teeth the following is for you:
The doctor has a financial program (GE credit care (card)) were you get about six months or so of minimum payments then you need to pay it off (promotional period) or it goes interest viral.
The other option is to use the doctor to lay down the game plan of what to do and have him do the minimum possible. Be upfront with him. Then begin your journey in Tijuana of getting pricing and scheduling. We visited a good four periodontists down there and were about to begin the process, but things changes and my wife needed to be in Mexico City for a duration of time so we went with my bro in law to finish up the project.

It took over a month or so to get pricing, meet people, and most importantly finding that everyone has their own ideas on how to fix the problem. Sinus lifts, where to graft, where to implant, where to bridge, were just a few of the new options that were presented.

You need to get orientated on the numbering system and understand the mouth map.
Once YOU have created a map from the doctor showing the what and were visually you then can present to the doctors what you would like to see. One complaint with Dr. Minutello is that I got no map, but just a punch list of inventory item and services to be performed. They did call out teeth position numbers on the estimate but a mouth map will enable you to stay on course better. You might need to take the estimate and call out what gets done to each tooth number map.
I need to give the doctor five stars since now I have had a full range experience with his peers and listened to their comments on Dr. Minutello’s job.
