This is an offshoot of La Gitana on Jamaica Ave. My experiences were great. I got a Tamale, but for those who don’t know, Colombian tamales are very different from Mexican.(cooked in banana leaf, larger, stuffed with hunks of pork, chicken and beef and carrots and peas). This version sits in a soup stock for warming and so, the tamale takes in the flavor. I also tried the pandebono, which were a bit sweeter than I’m used to, but very good. I brought pandebono and the cheese and guava empanadas home and the family loved them. Very convenient to the 111 St. subway stop on the 7 line. By the way, the place only has about 4 two-tops along the wall opposite the display counters. So, this isn’t a place for group dining. If the weather is good though, you can take out and walk down 111th to Corona Park for a picnic.
