my review is not regarding to any of the customer service like reviews below me. Though I once have dealt with a very rude associate, but that was a while back and this is an updated review. Michael’s crafting store decide to be greedy and not accept coupons on coloring books making them cost up to 20 $ just for a coloring book, I decided to come to Joann’s. And LUCKILY, joann accepted coupons toward coloring books, I was able to save tons. Not only that, JoAnn still offers the 60% off for 1 item. That means a lot to me! So thank you JoAnn, this customer is here to stay:) and bye bye Michael’s

I used to love to go to that place. But they have only two working on the floor. One was the cashier and the other was cutting fabric. Both were busy. I couldn’t find the help I wanted

This is my favorite Joanns. Unfortunately they are always understaffed and that’s a big a problem because the employees are overwhelmed by it at the register or cut table. Definitely during holidays too. The employees seem to be more knowledgeable here than other stores though. Especially with coupons. I always have a good experience!

I use to love Joann’s for everything from paints to projects. I just got off the phone with the rudest lady I ask if they had triple thick in stock and since she wasn’t familiar with the product she told me they didn’t carry it and hanged up I was shocked this has never happened. I had to call again and the same thing happened again so I guess just because the employees don’t know of the item they are allowed to rudely hang up on you. They lost me as a costumer I wouldn’t recommend to any of my friends. Just skip Joann’s if you can!!!

I don’t know way I go back This will be the last!!! The worst customer service I have ever seen I had to beg for help in unlocking a 1.99 item so I could buy it Are you kidding me? then the women gave me attitude about it That’s it !!! I will not return The cashier was nice but the women on the floor needs to get work somewhere else where she doesn’t have to deal with customers

I am kind of updating my review to the prior… even though I still agree to my prior review. I wanted to add to an experience I had this weeked… I am making my friends Halloween costume so I obviously came here to buy fabric… And as I was waiting for my number to be called SANDY or something was at the counter… so she called my number. At the same time, some girl (a worker) with a shaved head and a big blob of turquoise hair on top came up rambling on a story about how another customer was going to call and complain on her and someone else about something she «had no control over»… now mind you this Sandy lady had already called my number… I am waiting to be helped. So instead of apologizing to me, she looks at my friend and I and goes «HOLD ON!» I was like dont you mean «would you mind waiting one second?» She just continued to stand there and listen to this girl tell her the story… Now I have worked retail, and may be wrong, but is that not a number one rule of retail to not talk bad about your customers in front of other customers? And then look at me like I’m wasting your time!?! Totally lacking customer service skills… I mean quit your job if you’re so miserable.

I’m sure this place is fine when it’s not holiday season, but forget even trying to get in and out of this store quickly, especially around Halloween. If you need fabric cut, expect to wait at least 30 minutes while the workers inefficiently call out the numbers of those waiting in line.
Its a little bit like the DMV, only worse.

I’m going to be optimistic here and say the store is probably dealing with do it yourselfer costumers and the rest of the holiday crowd, being that it’s October.
It’s crazy busy here, to the point there was no one on the floor available for help that wasn’t already trying to cut down the line at the fabric counter and the register.
The gentleman that helped me was practically running between the locked shelves and the fabric counter.
As for the registers, there was a pretty hefty line.
I’m not sure if they can but they need at least one more person for the floor help alone.
I’d say, know what you’re looking for, because you probably won’t get help as soon as you’d like.

I visited this location yesterday In hopes of finding a material for a mermaid costume for Halloween coming up. I have never attempted such a project before and was expecting to need a lot of help from store associates.
I should have listened to the previous Unilocalers and not even wasted my time coming here. The customer service/​all around environment was atrocious. During my 20 minute walk around the entire store searching for the stretchy blue/​green fabric I needed, I saw probably 15 employees. NONE of which offered my wandering-​self ANY assistance.
There were a group of 6 or so in the back chit chatting in the back, 4 men up front at the register BS-​ing about sports/​other male topics, and about 4 or 5 walking the aisles or just on their cell phones (I saw one actually talking-​to-​text on his). And I was never approached or greeted, even acknowledged ONCE. I was so flabbergasted at how un-​attentive these people were to their customers… the store was pretty packed with costume season coming up.
I finally found a material I was interested right in front of the store (close to the register). It was wedged on a round rack. I went to pull it off and it was caught on the metal loop keeping the carboards in place. It ended up being pretty difficult to remove… I struggled with it so much that it ended up getting stretched out and damaged. Not to mention I made a mess from the materials next to it falling off and onto the ground. At this point I was so frustrated by the lack of assistance, which I so clearly needed, that I left the store without purchasing the perfect material for my costume. I went and bought a pre made one at a halloween store for cheaper than their prices anyways.
I will NEVER be returning to this location and will never recommend anyone to come here for any craft needs.

Update on review.
Today i visited the store, wondering if i should drive to the one in Riverside since i never had a good experience in this store. But to save time (had furniture delivery coming in an hr), i gave this branch another try.
To my surprise, i was greeted with A SMILE when i walked in. NEVER happened before! Then went to the fabric counter and again, i was greeted and was told she would help me right after she’s finished with her current customer. And the nice lady at the counter helped me, wished me a nice day. At the cashier, i was greeted again by whom actually smiled when she thanked me.
I dunno what the management did, but this store totally changed, i’m hoping. Will give another review next time i go.

I liked it here the staff was helpful they worked hard and they all did there job very good. The ladies are older but well experienced so they do know what they are talking about. Don’t look at the reviews from 2 years ago because obviously it’s changed.

Horrible Customer Service! They where more concern about «who didn’t fold the material right last night» then actually helping their customers. I asked one question and they responded with «it’s somewhen in the back wall»… Horrible

I shop at this joann regularly, not out of desire, but more out of mecessity. Every time I come in here, it looks like a bomb exploded. There are bolts of fabric on the floors in the aisles. I usually have to search for what I am looking for in several locations. There are several staff members loitering around the break room area instead of putting things away. The manager would would do better to hire someone who’s only job is to put things away and clean. I mean a part time person who could work 3 hours a day a couple days a week and just straiten uo. The manager at the fontana store has it all together. They should put her at this location to fix it. And don’t even get me started on the restroom. Ugggh. it is sad to see a store with so much potential, as it is the only fabric store around, where the employees are more concerned with taking thier 10 minute break on time than with providing good service or taking pride in thier workspace. I would love to have a sit down with the manager of this location, or better yet a district manager. I have great ideas, but alas, I cannot even get through the job bots on the hiring site to get an interview. Not that I need the job, it would just be nice to make this store nicer for my fellow sewers and crafters.

I am getting to the age where Joanne’s is OK in my book? While I still greatly prefer Hobby Lobby, Joanne’s saved the day when I needed some fabric. The selection truly endless, this is not a place to take your husbands ladies, they will go bonkers. It took forever, but I found the perfect piece of fabric for $ 2 Tons of easy parking out front. No lines at all, nice service, cheap prices, will do in a pinch.

Awful awful awful service… sucks that this is the only fabric place in town. Horrible customer service!!!

I go to this store atleast once a week. Everyone is nice and attentive. They have a good selection of fabric. As far as other reviewers stating it is disorganized, I myself have not seen this and seem to find everything I need. I sew, embroider, and craft.

The store looks soooo cluttered. Everything is out of order and a lot of racks are empty if not filled with things that shouldn’t belong.
These ladies are so rude! The seasonal clearance stuff had a huge sign that clearly said 70% off ALL seasonal items and the woman at the register was getting crazy with me. She legit was questioning me left and right asking if I switched ticket items and all of this mess. Seriously cannot believe these old hags… I love joanns as a store to get craft items at but the costumer service overall needs to change drastically.
I have nothing nice to say about this store so I’m just going to leave you with advice. THESE LADIES ARE MEAN AND DONT LET THEM INTIMIDATE YOU!!!

This store is decent. I try to go really early so it’s not busy. The employees are nice, except they do tend to get a little cranky when it gets busy (hence, why I try to go their early).
They have a good selection of items, but they are not the cheapest either.
The store does need some work though. It is starting to look beat down. But other than that, it’s a good place to get my craft supplies.

This store is spacious. I came in to find some yarn. They were scattered throughout the store. So, I had to look through all the aisles to make sure that the one I got was the correct brand and width.
I didn’t see an employee assisting customers. The line to pay was long! I didn’t mind. I wasn’t in a rush. What did bother me was how rude the customers were with the cashier. She was doing the best she could to speed the line along, but each customer took his or her sweet time to look through their phones and fumble around their purses. If you are waiting in line, get all that nonsense squared away and you’ll cease the amount of complaints you direct to the poor employee.
The yarn was pricey, but I couldn’t find it anywhere else. The cashier gave me a discount without hesitation. Thanks! I would have been in that long line for no reason and walked out empty handed.

Poor customer service, nobody seems to be around when you need them. I like their selection of fabric though, but then I can’t really compare this to another fabric store since it’s the only fabric store near my place. It takes them 10,000 years to cut a fabric and you have to fall in line for a whole eternity just to get it done, only to find out that the cutting person is going to take their break when you’re next! Geez!
I’m just excited that in 2014 Hobby Lobby will be opened here in Norco and I won’t have to go to Jo-Ann’s again!
