My audi practically broke down on the way to work, found them on Unilocal and called to see if they could find out what the problem was. Being a national holiday I was nervous about getting my car back that day. Took it in, 2 hrs later they called with the issue and the price to correct it. It seemed alot cheaper than the dealer so I gave them the green light. Another 2 hours later my car was ready!!! It’s been about 2 weeks and my car is at full speed again and no problems. I’d recommend this place to friends and family and they will definitely be getting my business from now on. I don’t know anything about cars and was so nervous of getting taken advantage of, but that’s not the case at all!

this repair shop is unprofessional in every sense of the word. I scheduled the appointment for an oil change a week prior and when scheduling the appointment I had asked questions like any other informed consumer would on their ability to work on my car. I own a 2014 E350 and I wanted to make sure if I am saving any money on a service from another repair shop than they would be able to meet the standards similar to that of a dealership but the question was met with a almost offended posture by the lady I was speaking with over the phone. I felt as a consumer Its always smart to inquire as to how your money is being spent and valued at a service providers place of business. though the apprehension was felt over the phone with the sense I got just by oral communication I decided maybe it’s the style because the owner and the lady over the phone sounded in the short tempered mindset group.
so I drove my car into the shop today and on my way to the shop I made a phone call to confirm that my car will be take in as soon as I get there so I don’t have to delay other things longer at work due to my absence as I was promised the total service time would be 1.5 hours. I am definitely not one that is used to waiting and I find my time is valuable enough that I also treat other’s time in the same manner. after walking into the check in area I was not greeted and was asked for my name by the (Short tempered) lady at which time she began to write up the invoice for my vehicle and I sensed her displeasure when I asked if I could fill out my own name and address to make it easier for her in spelling it out. (keep in mind she is on the old pen and paper system of writing out invoices which is ok but with her speed I thought the hour and half promised would turn into 2 hours). after taking my keys she stuck it up on the board and I sat patiently in the waiting area and after 10 minutes I realized if my short experience was timely that I wouldn’t get out of here in time so I stated that I would like to reschedule for whch the owner comes out of his office smirking and asking that I cant wait 5 minutes and than tosses the my key at me and the lady than goes on to further state that I don’t want to deal with such customers. I could have said a lot and I could have escalated it but I realized it’s his place of business and I will use the best resource I can to voice that this place may work out well if you are desperate for your car service but if your anything of a selective person and have any dignity in yourself than skip this place. I felt an eerie vibe the first time stepped in there because of the treatment I received with a strong hints of the sense of entitlement these folks exhume when dealing with their customers. my money will not be spent on business that feel their customers are dependent on them rather it being the other way around.

The staff is friendly and honest. I have taken my wife’s S550 here a few times for oil changes and minor repairs. Not once have they tried to push other repairs or ad on parts to me. They have made me a long tearm customer. I will be back.

After my other mechanic was trying to charge me about $ 900 for fixing an oil leak on my BMW 750 li I took it to Jim who not only completely fixed it but it gave my car an oil change had it back to me in one day and I only paid $ 500! I will always bring my car here! I highly recommend

My Fiancé took our 2000 Volkswagen Jetta into there shop. We just got our car out of the shop at another repair shop which they gave us a diagnostic and I spent alot of money on my repair. Then one week after my jetta started doing the same exact thing. Every time i would come to a stop it would just start stuttering when I would push on the gas. Which it was diagnosed at the other repair shop that the head was leaking and on the verge of blowing the Head. So on a whim we decided to pay for another diagnostic at Jim’s German Auto. We didn’t say anything about the other repair shop or what they told us was wrong with it. They then called us and said what needed to be done to it. Which was completely different then the other shop. So we then told him about the other diagnostic and he said I am sorry that you were told that but it isn’t what was doing that. IT WASN’T A BLOWN HEAD GASKET! Him and his wife were so nice and said they could fix the problem. So we decided to do it. We picked up the car later that same day and drove it home.
WOW! My car feels like when I first purchased it. It is running strong and has power again. My fiancé drives to Irvine for work from corona. Now it’s running so good she can make it up the 241 hill no problem. They did an amazing job and they were so nice over the phone and in person. They will be doing all my VW repairs from this point on.

I stumbled upon Jim’s automotive just by looking up BMW repair shops. My BMW X5 had an issue with a BMW coolant vent design problem. The Dealer wrote me an estimate for $ 10,000 — I almost passed out. I called Jim’s and spoke to Jim personally, he explained that he knows of that problem and guaranteed that he could fix the problem at a fraction of the cost. Jim not only fixed the original problem but repaired several other potential problems at a fraction of the BMW estimate. The potential problems were valid and not a scam. Jim and his Co-​worker Frank took me into the shop and they showed me every particular part that they recommended to be fixed but never put pressure on me to have it fixed by them — we were in the work area of the shop for 45 minutes just talking. I approved the repairs and our car is running fine, the car was done in less than a week…
Jim, Frank and the other younger guy that works there are all EXTREMELY friendly, honest, and down to earth.
Thanks to Jim’s German Auto — I’ll never trust my BMW with anyone else.

I just picked up a Jeep and I was stunned that Jim took it upon himself to fix a problem with AC unit that I couldn’t afford to fix. They decided to solve the problem at «no cost» to me. I am grateful for their consideration and commitment to quality service. Very thankful!

I have owed a business in Corona for the past twenty years right down the street from Jim’s German Auto. I have taken every car for both my wife and myself to Jim’s for service for over 15 years. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the work they do there. Jim is honest and very knowledgeable and I have never felt he took advantage of me in any way. I have recommended dozens of friends and have never heard a bad word about the place. An honest mechanic is worth his weight in gold and as my father told me years ago when you find an honest mechanic don’t ever let go.

I am sorry others had a bad experience, but I was truly impressed with Jim’s. After paying for high dollar repairs at the bmw dealership for years and still having problems, my friend recommended them to me. First, they were aware of what a previous mechanic had said, that I had blown a head gasket. Yet, they found that this was not the case. Second, they took me to look over my car and was shown the areas that needed addressing. Many of these I had been told before by the dealership but they always charged too much. I signed an estimate, and for the first time ever, the final total came in under estimate! I had great service by a knowledgeable technician and front office staff.

Rip off! Took car there in a crunch told them what codes my scanner gave and what car was doing. They told me i had a cheap code reader and car had six codes none of which was what i brought it for. I told them if you guarantee thats the problem go ahead. Pick up car when done made it 3 miles and same problem $ 700 later from first repair problem wasnt fixed. Now they tell me its the same code i told them it was in first place. Rude thieves or incompetent im not sure which but I will be filing complaints. GO ELSEWHERE! No reason to go here read yellowpages and disregard there family and friends putting good reviews because they really are a joke.

I have used Jims German Auto for years. I have found them to be honest, reliable and professional. After ready some of the bad reviews, I felt these were actually adds for other auto repairs shops. Unfortunately cars do break down and wear out, but you can’t really blame the mechanic. I would always recommend Jim’s German Auto to my friends.

I have had them work on my BMW for several years and our other cars, as well. I have always been very pleased with their professionalism and service. In fact, they have corrected things that the BMW dealership had represented to me had been done, but the dealership had not actually done. So, I will continue to use this auto shop because it is hard to find a reputable shop.

I have been going to Jim’s for years. They have always treated me fairly and have kept my car running well. They found a difficult to diagnose electrical problem on my BMW and corrected the problem so that it ran better than ever. Jim’s checks out the car entirely every time, so that major services are not as costly, definitely less than dealers.

I was told by Jim’s German Auto that my car was «burning» oil after I had them repair oil leaks for $ 1500 and that I had to carry at least 2 quarts of oil in my car for every 500 miles I drive due to the type of engine I had (C230K Mercedes). Apparently that is the reason they don’t sell the 230’s anymore and that I need to get rid of my car.
A few months ago I got into a front end accident and body shop suggested I take my car to my mechanic (Jim) to clear my check engine light. Jim’s German Auto suggested I take my car to the MB Dealer because nothing is wrong with the car and the check engine light keeps re-​appearing. So I did just that, MB Anaheim opened the hood with me and we found the air intake tubes and hoses were dangling over the belts of the car!!! I was horrified!
MB found that my car is not «burning» oil, it was STILL «leaking» oil, the car had carbon build up in the engine, and cams that were recalled and covered under warranty, belts were worn out due to the air intake tubes getting caught up in it after driving around for months that way. I was asked if I wanted to take the car back to Jim’s to fix what I had already paid for but I didn’t give that a second thought! Who would be crazy enough to take the car back to a place that obviously did not take care of the problems in the first place?
I figured I was taken advantage of since I don’t know anything about cars. MB Anaheim took care of all that needed to get my car back into great shape for LESS than what I was charged for the oil leak itself and it was worth it!
Mike Stowell of MB Anaheim, you are awesome! Very informative, helpful, and was detailed with all that needed to be done and why it needed to get done… even to someone who doesn’t even know what a gasket is!

Hey this Jims German auto is the biggest repair crook in the whole town of Corona, west of Mississippi. Do not even call him to inquire about repairs or he will bring you to the poor house.

So my VW has been loosing coolant. I took it to the VW dealer and they couldn’t figure it out. So I took it here. They kept my car overnight and told me in the morning that their was major engine damage to my car. The coolant was leaking into the combustion chamber and I probably had a cracked head. The phone call started with Jim saying «Get Rid of it!» They told me to unload my car on some dealership and get something new before the engine blew up.
So I was telling my dad the story and it turned out that he had taken his BMW to the same shop a few months earlier, although I had no prior knowledge of this. Interesting enough, Jim told my dad the same thing about his Bimmer, «just get rid of the thing!» My dad thinks Jim is a crook, I think he must have mental problems — telling people to get rid of perfectly good cars!
Anyways, having my suspicions about Jim i took it to another mechanic who found that the thermostat housing was leaking and it will cost a few hundred dollars to get fixed.
Don’t go here unless you need someone to convince you your car is about to explode.
