California Leak Detection did a fantastic job at both detecting and mediating the slab leak in our home.
Christian and Aaron were knowledgable, courteous, and meticulous in cleaning their work area. Christian explained the entire process, as it relates to their role and that of insurance company.
Having to deal with the aftermath of a leak is stressful, but we felt very much at ease with the level of professionalism that these two individuals displayed through the process.

Be careful about their billing. They quote me a total price to fix up my problem. I paid it in full the same day and later on they turned around and tell you they forget to charge the $ 200 inspection fee. They need integrity on their accounting person.

I heard a low hissing sound coming from guest bathroom faucet, I thought it might be a leak but I didn’t see any water on the floor and just coming back from vacation and having to go to work the next day I was hoping that this problem would just go away. I called my insurance company and recommended California Leak Detection. Next day Pete arrived with leak detection equipment and found location of leak right away and recommended a reroute of the hot water pipe and gave me an estimate and told me exactly how they were going to do it and how long it would take. I got another estimate from a local plumber and he did not seem as knowledgeable about my plumbing and his estimate was almost $ 1000 more and he charged me $ 50 just for the estimate. So I went with California Leak detection with no regrets. I had them come over in a couple of days and Aaron working with Pete rerouted my hot water pipe from underneath floor slab to ceiling and got my hot water working again within a few hours. I’m glad I went with California Leak Detection and I’m glad they sent Aaron and Pete. Unfortunately my insurance company did not pay anything because the adjuster said their was no water damage, but at least I got my water pipe fixed at a reasonable price by skilled professionals.

Tom and Aaron came out to fix drain/​sewage pipes that were leaking into the den from the upstairs bathroom. They were amazing! Friendly, professional, cleaned up EVERYTHING and priced very fairly. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Chris and Aaron came out to find what we thought was a slab leak. Sure enough, the located, found a nice cost effective repair/​work around and did a fantastic job. Very professional and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend for leak detection and plumbing needs. Great local business!

California Leak detection specialists were professional and extremely efficient they worked like a well oiled machine Dean Tom Jorge Aaron and Christian had the job done in three days standing around to check there were no leaks once they were finished with flashlights in synchronicity and even a little style these guys were great! Just make sure you know 200 assessment and report to insurance is SEPARATE from your QUOTE it will not be deducted from job quote just because you use them for a job w or w/​o insurance — otherwise you’ll be wrong.

I DETECT a LEAK in CALIFORNIA
Being a home owner is NOT as GLAMOROUS as it might appear to those on the outside looking in. Why? Because anything that goes wrong is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to fix! Sometimes issues and problems are small like your faucet is leaking and need a washer, or you need or want to buy a new lock for the side gate, a light bulb, etc. Then there are the problems that just about EVERY homeowner cringes at because the repairs have so many zeroes after them you’d think you’d just won the lottery except your writing out a check to someone else. For example you need a new roof because all of a D*AM sudden the one you have decides to start leaking in the middle of the night during the rainy season, or your water heater burst open causing water damage inside the house or garage, you need all your electricity upgraded because every time you plug in your toaster, blender, hair dryer you short out the entire house or a pipe burst.
Well that is EXACTLY what happened to me one BUTT CRACK OF DAWN Sunday morning! I’m finally sleeping like a rock without a care in the world. I don’t have to be up UBER early for practice so I force myself to try and sleep in. I’m pretty much in a comma. My one day to try and sleep in and I STILL end up getting up at 6:30 A-​FRICKIN-​M in the morning. I check my mobile unknown caller but they left a message. I listen to it and it’s La Palma PD. I call back right away…
LPPD: You main pipe has burst outside in front of your house and water is everywhere. Do you have something to turn off the main valve with?
Me: OMG, YES!
LPPD: Ok we will call the water company to come out and double check for you.
Me: Thank you so much, bye!
I run outside and turn it off. What a FAT F’in MESS! Water everywhere. THANK GAWD for the planter outside my front window that caught most of the water, but it is leaking out and rolling down the street. All my neighbors are pretty much early birds like me and are out and about so I tell them they can come and get some water to after plants and I do the same for my plants in the backyard.
My gardener is in the neighborhood working and tries to fix it so I can have some water in the house and about an hour later… BAM! His fix doesn’t work. He tries again. The city is calling me yet again telling me to just keep it turned off. WHAT A FRICKIN MESS! I need to wash my AZZ, brush my teeth, etc, NOT having water is NOT an option! I get dressed and run to the store to buy water for the dogs, me and so I can brush my teeth, wash my face and try to take a SUDO-​bird bath so I can get dressed because I’m going to a Unilocal run/​walk event!
I get back and try to access the situation and it dawns on me I have homeowners insurance… Yippi! I hope it’s covered. They take all my info down and give my claim number. No water all day Sunday or Monday morning… NO BUENO! Monday the adjuster calls CALIFORNIA LEAKS DETECTION and they give me a call at work. The lady was UBER NICE over the phone. She asked where my «LEAK» was and I told her it’s NOT a leak that the pipe burst and I have NO water. So she said she could send someone out in 30 minutes! So I left work to meet them.
Pete showed up assessed the situation and called it in. He checked for water damage inside the house in and there was some. He went to get a part because he didn’t have what I needed so when the guys arrived they could fix it. About an hour later 2 more guys showed up Arron and Dean and together they all figured out what to do because my home was built in the 60’s they don’t make the parts I need any more so you have to make what they do have fit. Dean and Arron were AWESOME and PROFESSIONAL. They didn’t have a problem with me watching them and taking pics or video!
They didn’t break or make anything WORSE! Once they figured out what to do they did the work, cleaned up after themselves and wrote me up an invoice. The price was UBER REASONABLE and Pete said he would put together a report for the ADJUSTER so I can get my walls dried out so I don’t get mold.
Pete, Arron, and Dean were AHH-​MAZING! I would totally use them again if I had other plumbing issues which I HOPE and PRAY I DON’T but it is always good to have a RELIABLE company to count on when you need them.
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for fixing my pipe and giving my running WATER since going to the well in NOT an OPTION for me!

Had an issue with a broken vent pipe in one of my bathrooms (the joy of an almost 50 year old home).
Called the office and Chris and Ulysses showed up and quickly and very cost effectively replaced the broken vent line with a minimum of hassle.
I hate when things break, but for any future plumbing issues, I know who I will call.

I agree with another reviewer that this company does not know what they’re doing. We had a leak in our kitchen. They did all the «tests» and couldn’t find the leak. My plumber came by and broke up the concrete in our kitchen to get a visual since he assumed that this company did all the tests and did them accurately. Well after all that he discovered that it was the hose bibs in the kitchen were leaking which didn’t require us to break through the concrete. If this company had done their job they would have realized that the hose bibs were leaking by doing a pressurized test on the water system at a pressure higher than 60psi. Keep in mind my plumber was able to find the leak with no cameras and no pressure test. Just good old fashion critical thinking and process of elimination. This company is a waste of time and money ($ 320 to be exact). Do not trust your home owners insurance and the companies they recommend. Do your research!

Wish I could not even give them one star. They had no idea what they were doing, called another plumber and it took five minutes to find the leak.

Sorry — not impressed. I just called to get a quote, nothing more. But they railed me into giving my address and tel no and I didn‘t want to be rude. They‘ve called back a few times but we‘ve had a non-​leak-​related emergency here so I haven‘t been available to answer the phone until today. They just called again to «schedule a visit for today» (not what I wanted in the first place, I was just after an estimate) and when I tried to explain that actually we didn‘t have a leak after all as I‘d first thought and it is all fine the woman cut me off mid-​sentence with «ok thank you goodbye» and hung up on me!
I get that they are now not going to «make a sale» with me, but I may well have used them in the future had I been treated a little better. Not now. Felt it was all about the money and couldn‘t even stay on the phone for the 5 seconds longer it would have taken me to explain that we actually didn‘t have a leak and to thank them anyway for their call back. Happy for them if they are so busy they needed to get to the next call, but a little common courtesy would go a long way.

When the water company notified me about excess water usage, I called California Leak Detection, based on the positive Unilocal comments. Chris and Ulisses just completed the work… Chris explained my options and we discussed the best and most efficient – and least expensive– way to solve the problem. They showed me each step of the work as they went along, and explained what they were doing and why. They were on time both days that they came to my house and cleaned the work area each day. They were very professional and personable. I highly recommend this company!

Late, but traumatizing none the less. As a new homeowner, my experience makes me think twice about buying a home. We found a slab leak 6 months after moving in. Okay… no biggie. Easy fix. Our insurance recommended CLDS (note to self: do not trust your insurance). Making the first appointment was great, however getting them to come back out was a different story. Long story short– after 3 missed appointments, incorrect installment of our washer/​broken piece, re-​flooding of our house… Our 2 week temp ordeal turned into a month and a half-​nightmare. Buyer beware.

These guys really did a great job when we discovered a slab leak in our home! They sent out Dean who was friendly and sympathetic to our situation. Unfortunately insurance would not pay for a repipe so they had to jackhammer and find the leak underneath but they located it with ease and got it repaired in no time. They were a pleasure to deal with and even gave us a good price on the part of the job that insurance didn’t pay for. Thanks!

My house is 23 years old. In the last 3 years, my house began having pipe leaking problems. There were 2 cold water pipe leaks and 1 hot water pipe leaks under the slabs. This year there were 1 cold water and 1 hot water pipe leaks above the ceiling between upper and lower floors.
After 2 pipe leaks, I have not reported the other 3 leaks to the insurance company because my insurance went up $ 200 for each claim.
The last two ceiling pipe leaks I have used California Leak Detection Specialists. For the first call, they charged the standard price. For the second call, they gave me a huge break because I remembered the repair man.
Today I called them. They sent a person to arrive my house in an hour. The repair was complete around an hour. Excellent Job with Great Price!
