Over the past 8 years I’ve had Botox by plastic surgeons, derms, and nurses. The RN, Teri Ellis, at Velvet is my favorite injector of all! She’s very professional and has a gentle touch.
For skincare treatments, request to combine the HydraFacial and Oxygen Facial (Intraceuticals). Unbelievable results!!! You’ll def be the best version of yourself after this treatment.

I bought a Groupon and have been coming back as a regular client for a few months now. Helen is the best, she really knows what she is doing and my skin feels awesome. I trust her on her recommendations for my skin and I am very happy with my treatments. I would definitely recommend Helen to anyone. Also, the place is very cute and nicely decorated.

For 3 days after Helen did a Refresh peel + oxygen on my face, neck and chest –my coworkers couldn’t believe how glowy my skin was! A great treatment. I was nervous because my skin is sensitive but Helen was so knowledgeable and I am glad I did it with her. I love the décor of velvet, too– So cute!

I have always had a fear of anyone doing any kind of treatments to my face from bad past experiences with people that didn’t know what they were doing. But Helen really makes you feel comfortable and she REALLY knows what she’s talking about. I’ve had multiple peels and an Oxygen treatment done from her and I am ALWAYS so happy with the results. She has really helped my skin along to where I have always wanted it to be. She is also amazing at doing eyebrows. Thanks Helen!

SO UNPROFESSIONAL!
I got a microdermabrasion facial here last week and disappointed doesn’t even begin to describe my experience. first off the woman at the front desk has a very nasty attitude! I was greeted with a glare and very sarcastic «hi» second the walls are very thin and you can hear everything that is going on next door at the dog wash as well as what is going on at the front desk, which brings me to number three. The woman at the front desk was talking and laughing loudly on the phone with someone (I’m guessing it was her friend) about drugs and sex with her boyfriend!
The microdermabrasion itself was decent but the treatment was cut a little short. it was supposed to be 55 minutes but instead lasted about 30.
So when I went to the front desk the woman looked me up and down again and by this point I was over it and just wanted to leave. I asked her if I could add a gratuity on my card which little did I know would take her 20 MINUTES! She even had to call someone so they could walk her through the process. Biggest waste of time and money ever! I never write reviews for places and I’m not one to complain but this was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a spa. If I could give negative stars I would!
I would also like to add that the owner tried to discredit my review by commenting that I was never there and not in their system. I do not post my real name on the internet as I’m sure many others do not as well. Therefore looking me up will not work and seeing as I will NOT be returning to this tacky little salon speaking with you is a waste of my time. Anybody who comes here will know this is a REAL and HONEST review. Thanks again for the unprofessional behavior.

Least professional place I’ve ever been to.
When I called to book the appointment the woman had a nasty attitude from the start and kept putting me on hold for seemingly no reason. She honestly sounded drunk and irritated.
When I arrived a couple days later for my appointment, the woman at the front desk looked disheveled and couldn’t find anything. I do not think she was the actual receptionist so maybe that explains why she couldn’t even find a pen to fill out the papers with or anything, but she seemed like the same woman as on the phone because she again seemed under the influence of something making her act oddly.
As I was filling in the paper work, a client/​friend of hers came in and she began to loudly discuss how she had gone out and gotten so sloppy drunk and crazy the night before and how she was so hungover and could barely function. I thought it was extremely unprofessional to be talking so openly about this in front of someone she knew was a new customer and this was going to be my first (AND LAST) experience there.
A different girl called me back to do my «55 minute microdermabrasion facial». She was very sweet and made me feel comfortable. She did a good job for the most part, but my «55-​minute facial» ended up being about 25 – 30 minutes tops, including time for dressing and undressing into a robe. The microderm part only lasted a few minutes and the rest consisted of her rubbing potions on my face and «leaving it to set» while she texted and continuously walked in and out of the room.
The reason I am giving this place one star instead of 2 or 3 is because of what happened when I was leaving. After my half-​the-​time facial, I got dressed and began to walk out. The hungover woman then stopped me and asked if I knew any doctors. I said no and asked why, and she responded that she needed someone to write her a prescription… Who the hell asks a perfect stranger and customer for a doctor to write them a shady prescription?!
Biggest waste of time and money and I am incredibly disappointed with my experience. I do not always post on Unilocal about my experiences but this was just beyond anything I have experienced and the person in charge needs to know this extremely unprofessional behavior is going on.

My boyfriend and I came today to get waxed by Greg. He did awesome he was professional and made us feel comfortable. We will definitely will come back

I started coming to Velvet around the holidays by purchase of a Groupon for some microderms. I went with the 3 pack so that I could give my skin a boost through winter to avoid looking dull. I heard that Greg did a great microderm so I scheduled with him and I’m very pleased! He does a pretty aggressive treatment, which I like, so I can really see the results afterwards. Purchasing on Groupon, I am always concerned that the service provider will shaft me in some way by giving a halfass treatment or being otherwise stingy, but I’m happy to report that is not the case here at all! The location is super convenient, right on the PCH walking distance from me, actually, and the décor is adorable. Think sophisticated shabby chic, and very relaxing. Scheduling has always been smooth, I was even late one time and called to give them a heads up, they didn’t freak out or ask me to reschedule which was nice of them since I think I was the last appointment of the day. Overall, very pleased with this addition to CDM.

Great little studio! I had some rather intimate waxing down with Greg and I couldn’t be more pleased. Very friendly, helped to make me feel comfortable and kept the conversation going. Very meticulous! I would totally recommend and will be a regular!

I had an event last Saturday night, and scheduled an oxygen facial with Helen that afternoon. Wow! I went in with tired, dull skin from too little sleep, too much coffee and too much sun, and came out glowing and dewy with plumped skin. The results were immediate and fantastic! This is the treatment you want before an event or anytime you want to look AMAZING. I love Helen, the aestitician at Velvet. She is so warm and caring, and won’t try and sell you something you don’t need. I will definitely be back to have this treatment once a month!

Well, the cat’s out of the bag… As mainly the locals in CDM and people like me that would follow Helen wherever she goes already know, she’s the best at what she does! I’m always getting compliments on my skin and it’s glow. I love the refresh peels and actually every service I’ve had recommended. She’s an expert at sizing up your skincare needs. So, if you’re looking for what quite a few gals are keeping to themselves… This is the place to keep your face looking in tiptop shape. Best skincare hands down:)

Don’t know what happened here, scheduled an appointment for wife on a Saturday was greeted by a surly gentleman who pretty much threw a clipboard at us and disappeared.
The guy must of been having a bad day or something because he was very curt and short with us.
So we filled out the paperwork and waited to 45 MINUTES, no one came out to check on us, no one said be right with you nothing, we finally got fed up and told him we were leaving, he said «okay»„ no I apologize, no can we re-​schedule, nothing.
So called the manage of the store, and she apologized and offered a treatment for my wife, but her car broke down and she has never called me back…
Hope she is still not sitting in her broken down car. Its been two weeks and counting.
Had high hopes for this place too…

I have had psoriasis issues, flare ups etc on my face and Helen took very good care of me. I used to own a spa for 10 years and I love the way they make me feel so welcome and they actually know what they’re doing. I got a refresher facial that focused on cleansing. I have difficult to treat skin since it is oily yet very sensitive because of my psoriasis. I look and feel great. Very reasonable prices for the area too!

Helen is amazing. Very friendly and professional and great at what she does. She is very knowledgeable about the skin and pays close attention to your needs.

Came here for a microderm and oxygen facial. Greg took great care of me. He talked me through the process (as it was my first time) and educated me about all the product he was using on my face. The salon has a lot to offer, waxing, microderm, oxygen facials, botox etc. When I left my face was glowing and I couldn’t have been more pleased with the service I received.

I feel so lucky to have found velvet! Not only does it have such a cute– boutiquey feeling– Greg and Helen make you feel so welcomed and comfortable. I have never gotten a facial before and wanted to try the oxygen facial (which so many celebs swear by). I was concerned about breaking out after– maintenance– etc. (I’m a Botox girl at heart!) Greg who I can’t recommend enough walked me through the entire process! He educated me so that I now feel comfortable enough to tell friends and family how it works! Oh by the way-​before the oxygen facial I did get microdermabrasion for the 1^st time! My face– neck– and décolleté have never felt so soft! Why am I just now discovering this for the 1^st time!!! Needles to say– Greg had me leaving velvet absolutely glowing!!! When I came home to my husband he was insisting that I got botox! There was that dramatic of a change! I swore up and down that I didn’t! He now is fronting for the oxygen facials! Thanks Greg for getting me hooked on another beauty regimen– the difference is that this one really works!

This is a cute little salon. I bought a Groupon for three microdermabrasion and I just had the first one. My skin feels and looks super good.
The salon itself is peaceful and calming. The services I received were top notch, not the cheapo kind a Groupon customer usually gets. The table was super comfy, the music relaxing, I got a hand massage while I was waiting for the creams on my face to absorb. Some places really cheap out on both service and product when you buy a Groupon (I should know, I buy a TON of them)!
I forget the girls name who did my micro (she was out of cards) but she was a blond girl, as sweet as can be.
I’m looking forward to two more treatments here.
There is a small lot in the back but there is plenty of street parking.

My skin is glowing and my pimples are gone! What an amazing experience and it has convinced me that I have been neglecting my skin far too long. So I came across this place through my Groupon microdermabrasion facial discount and decided to give it a try. I have pretty bad hyperpigmentation and I have been told that microderm works for this so I thought I would give it a chance.
Criswell, the owner of the salon, was able to accomodate my later schedule and get me in for an evening appointment. The place was beautiful! Candles, pretty décor, super comfy couches and just an overall upscale but comfortable environment.
Right away I noticed she did not seem like one of those facialists who treat you like your skin needs «sooo much work.» She asked me what I was hoping to accomplish, and after explaining that I wanted to get rid of my hyperpigmentation she said the microderm should definitely help. I was relieved bc I thought I had to do an IPL or one of those horrible peels. (I’ve heard horror stories, my friend to this day still has burns frome one.) So she explained how her microderm worked (I had never tried it before, so it was all new to me.) She uses diamonds in the microderm wand that helps to do a deeper exfoliation on a professional level and helps to create the «glowing skin.» It didn’t hurt at all – something I was worried about – and she was very gentle. It was actually a little bit like a massage.
I also decided to add on the intraceuticals oxygen facial (which is supposed to help your botox last longer.) It also helps add moisture to the skin for a plumping effect. This part was cool – they shoot cool oxygen into your face with some type of serum.
At no cost, she gave me some type of zapping wand/​gun treatment that zaps the pimples (just like electricity, except it didn’t hurt.) I woke up the next day to see 3 of my pimples had almost completely disappeared!
She had some cool retail items too, make up, some great sunblock that smells like plumerias! (It’s called Coola, and apparently it’s all natural.)
Neeless to say I have 3 more microderms to use and I will definitely be back!
Wonderful experience over all and she really seemed to know her stuff. She even coached me on what foods/​drinks cause break outs and what further treatments I can do to help.

Such a cute, little studio! The staff is friendly and professional. I loved the very personal experience I had for my treatment. I tried the IntraCeuticals Oxygen facial and was pleasantly surprised to notice the nearly immediate «plumping» effects of the treatment on my smile lines! I had my treatment with Stephenie, and she gave me great insight on the best options for my personal skin care needs. I look forward to visiting the quaint skin spa again!
