Elle is the ABSOLUTE best, I love her! I signed up for the monthly facials about two years ago and I wouldn’t think about going anywhere else. I walk in and just let her look at my skin and she tells me exactly what it needs. I’ve tried every facial and product in the spa and highly recommend the pumpkin peel or Bi-​peel, they’re my favorite! ALL the products are great and I like that many of them are natural and organic. I’m 41 and get compliments on my skin almost daily, thank you Elle! xo: D

This review is for the gym and specifically the small group classes. The studio is aptly sized for a small group of people and the instructors are impressive. I’ve taken the yoga, bootcamp, and pilates plus classes and all are both challenging as well as adaptive to any skill level. I am impressed with the friendliness of the instructors at this gym too, they take the time to introduce themselves to you and actually remember you by name when they see you next. This adds an extra boost of motivation to show up. The facilities are great as well, the lockers come with large and small towels, along with shampoo/​conditioner, blowdryer, combs, q-​tips, hairspray, and deodorant spray. The bathrooms are clean and modern with a tv available for viewing while you change. There are also two changing rooms and an infrared sauna. You may access a discount on membership rates on

The best facial in town. Amber knows her stuff. And her products actually work! At 53 my face is totally hydrated and looks the best it’s ever looked! All the girls in her office are really really good as well as being SO nice! Make sure you ask about the stem cell cream, super hero also the make up primer! To die!

My favorite spa… I sat in the sauna room before my facial. I had the best facial and I really like their skin care line. There is a good variety of items for the different skin types. I bought a cleanser… mask…moisturizer…sunscreen…the ingredients are mostly natural without any harsh chemicals… the products are the best and really helped improve my skin.

This is a good, reasonably priced, local gym that has everything you need and isn’t too crowded or trying to hard to be trendy. I have never had to wait for a machine and the place is always clean. Love that I can walk to/​from the gym — I do need to be tricked into extra exercise!
I have tried the boot camp, tabata in 30 and barre classes and found them all to be decent work outs. The Sat am barre class is good but a big too crowded.

Bought a Groupon for 10 spin classes and loved it.
Most of the classes I did were virtual spin which was actually pretty awesome. They just turn on the screen for you and you can go at your own pace.
Love that the facility was SUPER clean and smelled amazing.

I went for a microdermabrasion facial and it left my skin glowing. The spa’s owner, Amber, is awesome and truly knows what needs to be done to help your skin look its best! I will def be going back!

Just joined shape up and I really love it. Great staff and workout equipment! Beautiful gym. Not too crowded at all. The remodel is amazing and my favorite part is the Infrared sauna!!! The spa is amazing too.

Amazing gym! Was just completely redone. Top of the line equipment! Best personal trainers! Everyone knows each other. TRX and tabota classes are my favorite, every tues and weds night I’m there!

What a lovely gym! I’m personally not a member here but took a TRX certification class to add to my personal training repertoire and everyone here is so nice and welcoming. All the members here seem to know each other. It feels comfortable, I wish I lived closer because then I’d come here for my daily workout!

Amazing gym! There’s a rotating rock climbing wall, stretching room, spinning room and an infrared sauna. State of the art equipment and an outdoor workout area! The gym and locker rooms are spotless. The staff is so nice and knowledgeable! I highly recommend checking out the renovations, it’s amazing!

Shape-​Up Day Spa is my go to facial destination! I went to Amber and Elle a year ago when I had really bad acne. The girls gave me a wonderful/​relaxing facial, helpful products, and nutrition advice. Within months of my facial I saw a positive change in my skin. I have been going back to the Shape-​Up Day Spa ever since! The girls are wonderful and with the new remodel they give you a 5 star spa experience, and use new, high-​end products and equipment. I would recommend the zinc mask, glycolic exfoliating syrum for products. And the micro-​derm facial with glycolic peel worked wonders on my skin!

10 minutes on the rock climbing wall = amazing workout!

The remodel is great and I love the atmosphere here plus they have extras like the ultraviolet sauna, inversion table & the power plate that a lot of other places don’t even offer!

Love my gym. Honestly, I’m a bit of a cheap-​ass sometimes so when my mom told me they had bought a family membership, I would’ve gone and made the most of it no matter what. But I’m so glad Shape Up was a gym I actually liked. They have personal memberships for $ 79 a month and family memberships (4 people) for around $ 100 a month. The personal is a little steep but I think the family memberships are actually a pretty good deal, especially when you consider what you’re getting.
What you get with Shape Up is really the best of the high end and low end gyms worlds. You get the great variety and classes of 24 Hour Fitness, but the personalized experience of a high end gym. The equipment is amazing and there is a TV on every work-​out machine. When you first join and every 20 sessions after, you get a «fit» with a personal trainer, which is basically them showing you new exercises and kind of helping get you out of your gym rut. I love that and have found it so helpful in my fitness endeavors.
The trainers are also amazing. I worked with Laura for about 3 months when I was first trying to lose my post-​college weight and she was great. She really gave me not only great work-​outs but also tools to carry on by myself.
Last but not least are the classes. LOVE LOVE Zumba with Gina and Boot Camp with Denise. Gina is my Zumba mentor and I am actually now an instructor myself. She is amazing. Denise also routinely kicks my ass every Monday but I love her for it. Both classes have a total community feel and I feel like I’m actually missed when I don’t go.
No cell phone service in the club btw. Slightly annoying. But Laura told me the club used to be like a vault or something and that’s why haha. I don’t use the spa or locker rooms much so can’t comment much on that but I’ve heard they’re pretty awesome.
So yeah, Shape Up is a great CDM secret. If you can afford it or want to invest in a family membership, I say you’d be hard-​pressed to find another gym with such personalization and quality. Especially because the Newport Beach 24 Hour Fitness leaves much to be desired. (another review for another day haha).

A beautiful drive down PCH drops you off into this tucked away facial lounge in Corona Del Mar with ample underground parking. They recently remodeled the entire space, and this face lift has made it a very serene stylish atmosphere to get away for an hour. I love Amber, I have been getting facials with her for a year, and she has just the right touch. She does great micro derm abrasian, glycolic peels, moisture treatments, and uses great product. I love the cream and cleansers available for purchase. You can even top it all off with a non irritating eyebrow wax.

I love that they have a dry sauna in the locker area!!! I used to pay $ 59 a month for a weekly visit and its FREE at Shape Up!!! I like the individual TVs on cardio machines and staff is friendly. I’ve also tried their day spa for facials on several occassions and they offer some pretty good deals!

I started going to the shape up fitness center because of a living social deal. My first experience was amazing. I have been going back for the past year because of the friendly staff, nice aura of the place, cleanliness and especially because of AMBER JOHNSON/​BURNS. She is amazing! I have never felt a great connection with anyone and she really wants to HELP my facial problems. She takes her time and has NEVER rushed any of my facial appointments. She is one of a kind and I have recommended my mom to go see her and family and friends. She def takes care of you and understands my concerns.
WILL be going to her forever! Unless she moves!

I’ve been a client of Amber at the day spa for about 8 years now. She is the only one I trust with my skin! I have recommended her to all of my friends and clients (I am a professional make-​up artist) and everyone has loved her just as much. I have seen her work miracles on problem skin. She is so knowledgeable and truly loves what she does.
I also did a session of their Epicurean body wraps before my wedding a couple years ago. I definitely did not expect much, and was a little hesitant, but wow it really worked! I lost over six inches all over on just my first session, and several more with each session after that. I felt amazing and slim for my wedding day!
I will never get a facial anywhere else and I would only recommend the best to my friends and family for their skincare needs.
