Award winning Hudson Valley NY Photographer Autumn Thomes has a knack for putting people at ease and capturing their personalities. Her philosophy is that a photograph should show more than what you look like — it should give insight as to who you are. With her laid back on location approach, Autumn creates images that are fun, creative and captivating. Autumn specializes in connections and emotions — be that a couple getting married, a mother and her child, a husband and wife on their anniversary, best friends, siblings, a family, a boy and his dog — capturing these connections is where her passion lies. Autumn provides photography services for both straight and gay weddings, engagements, couples, maternity, birth, newborn, children, families, high school seniors, headshots, boudoir and pets in the Hudson Valley, Westchester, Rockland, Catskills and Connecticut. Autumn is also available for food photography, commercial product photography and real estate photography.

History

Established in 2005.

Autumn started her business, specializing in wedding photography, in 2005 in Fairfield, CT, moving to the Hudson Valley in 2009. Since relocating to the Hudson Valley, Autumn has enjoyed exploring the area’s rich history and awe inspiring scenery. In 2012 Autumn’s life brought some major changes which inspired her to switch her main focus to maternity, newborn, child and family photography. She still accepts a few weddings per year.

Autumn is a wife, mother and photographer who believes that family is the absolute most important thing. She has had a passion for photography since about age 6, starting in a darkroom developing her own film in only 2^nd grade. Autumn has found that her true passion lies in capturing personalities, relationships, emotions and special moments in people’s lives. She strives to capture who you are, not just what you look like. Autumn loves the outdoors (hiking, exploring, kayaking and rock climbing are some of her favorite activities) and feels that bringing her sessions outdoors helps to not only put people at ease in front of the camera, but also tells more of a story about her subjects and adds more visual interest.
