History

Established in 1975.

For several years, readers of American Style Magazine have rated Corning, NY as one of the top 25 best small cities for the arts and Connors Mercantile is right in the heart of Corning’s retail district — Market Street. In 2008, Ann and Barry Nicholson purchased the gift store that has been in Corning for over 30 years. Thanks to their superior retail management team, Connors was awarded a Small Business Excellence Award in May of 2010. In addition to specialty collectibles and foods, the mercantile offers «store in store» collections from Vera Bradley, Crabtree & Evelyn, Brighton Accessories, PANDORA Jewelry, and other gift brands. Connors caters to both the local resident as well as hundreds of thousands of tourists that visit the Corning area annually.

Manager

Jill Agosta took over management of Connors Mercantile in 2008 when the Nicholsons purchased the business from the Connors. Jill had been assistant manager prior to this, but under her guidance as store manager and with the support of an excellent staff, Connors Mercantile has grown and flourished to become the anchor retail business that Corning locals and tourists alike must visit when in the Corning area.
