I’m so, so conflicted about my overall rating for Crawford’s. My family started coming here a few years ago for the $ 1.25/pound u-pick blueberries, and have never had a bad experience with them, but we were here this past weekend for u-pick figs and pears, which was a TERRIBLE experience. The figs lacked the fragrant, sugary richness you’d expect, and the pears were watery and not crisp. Moreover, most of the Asian pears had already rotted on the trees. We wound up leaving with only six Asian pears. Last weekend’s bad experience aside, though, we have always had great experiences here, and the owner is a really nice guy. As such, I’m sticking with a rating on the better side here, dinging a star for last weekend’s disappointment. Next year, we’ll only come here for blueberries, and head out to Hood River for pears. The u-pick fig search continues… TIP: Like most u-pick locations, this place does NOT take credit card. Come prepared with cash, as well as something to put your fruits in once you’ve paid for them(they provide flimsy cardboard boxes, but you’re much better off bringing your own containers to transfer your fruits into).

This place has the sweetest strawberries. Mm so good. The strawberries are tiny but they pack quite a flavorful punch(they’re not like the giant mutant flavorless ones from the supermarket). They’ve also got blueberries, cherries, boysenberries, gooseberries, prunes, you name it! It’s an awesome place to come with friends or family and spend a day doing u-pick!
