Brusters is delicious! So many options and delicious flavors. The fiancé loves the large Reece’s blizzard. for me, that is way too much ice cream, and I can barely finish the small! But the blizzards are great, and I’ve even ordered a kid size of things and they don’t mind me ordering kid things! Sometimes the service can be slow during the winter hours because they only have one person working.

I was in town from LA visiting my friend and we decided to get some ice cream. She told me this is the place she usually goes to. I had a small waffle cone of the chocolate cake batter ice cream… It was one of the best flavors of ice cream I’ve ever tasted. The ice cream was so smooth and fresh! I was so glad we stopped by this place. My only question is where can I find this flavor back in LA?! :(. I will def be back when I visit her again.

We love it! Good mix of ice cream and deserts. We can get a guide hot dog or chicken if we want something more. Wish they had a buyer to round it out.

My favorite ice cream, hands down. They make all of their flavors from scratch and every ice cream flavor I’ve tried has been delicious! Ice cream is always fresh and creamy. The flavors rotate daily and you’re always sure to see something that you would like. The chocolate cake batter ice cream is to die for!

Bring your own bananas Sort of a joke but it’s real. Friend from Ohio came down and we went out for Ice Cream, she wanted a banana split and they told here that the only way she could get it was to bring her own banana. At one time, the menu even reflected that. In any case, it’s a great place for Ice Cream. More flavors than I can count with great service. Nothing better than to get a cone(I don’t like the cups), go to one of the side tables on a hot summer day and chill out. A great experience

Ice cream is good, but the food wasn’t great. Definitely will return for ice cream during the summer. Service was excellent.

My niece and nephew know that once it gets warm outside, its time for ice cream again! Brusters is great because the seating is outside, which gets the kids away from television long enough for ice cream. I had a waffle cone with mint chocolate chip which was a very good portion. Since both of the kids are still small, they offer a little free scoop for kids below a certain height. The good thing is they also do shakes, malts, sundaes, banana splits, and serve Nathans Hot Dogs in case you want something a little more solid… Tastes like a good ol’ American summer!

It is such a joy seeing parents with their kids lined up waiting to place their orders for ice cream. Everyone is happy and looking at the menu. I have never seen such a gigantic list to select from. Everyone asking one another what they are going to get. I have never seen anything like this before. What a treat. Once you place your order, they close the window and start to scoop out your ice cream. The fun part is deciding which ice cream and then a cone or a cup. The ice cream is frozen and cold, but start diving into it with the summer heat the ice cream start to melt quickly. Get extra napkins. There are tables and chairs for patrons to sit. Ordered the Red Velvet Cake Batter. Yummy.

Bruster’s is my favorite place in Lake Norman for ice cream. The line is usually short, the staff is friendly and the ice cream is delicious. They have many assorted flavors and specials on certain days of the week. For a complete meal, order some Nathan’s famous hotdogs, cheese fries and finish off with a cone of your favorite flavor. The prices are fair, and the facility appears very clean. I have not tried the Birthday cakes but that service is also available. Stop by Bruster’s and enjoy some dessert! The Chocolate Raspberry Truffle and the Butter Pecan are delicious.

This place has way too many choices for me, way too many, I just couldn’t decide on anything other than the homemade waffle cone… just didn’t know what was going inside. Lots of great flavors to choose from, a few of the normal flavors but many unique flavors to try as well. Great walk up location with a few benches around if you want to sit and enjoy.

And don’t forget the Nathan’s Famous hotdogs! Although I don’t know how famous they REALLY are… I’ve only ever seen the place at this location and at Concord Mills Mall. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t good! I loved the chili cheese dog. I snagged one before a run into Lowe’s Foods to keep me from going into I’m-hungry-buy-everything-I-see-in-a-grocery-store mode. On warmer days they get hit pretty hard and have the staff to cope with it too. But mid-afternoon on a cold Sunday? Not a soul in sight except the one person working here. The ice cream is of course good too. Back when it was warmer I’d round out a Catawba Ave. bike ride with an ice cream cone to cancel out my workout. I liked the cheesecake flavor though I don’t recall them having a cookie dough option at least at the time.

I was first introduced to Brusters while living in Myrtle Beach. I loved it down here, and was quite pleased to find that there is one five minutes from our apartment here. We went last night to celebrate my wife getting a new job. This review focuses on just the ice cream. There is a Nathan’s Hot Dog place within Brusters, but I only come for the cold treats, not the hot eats. Brusters ice cream is a hard ice cream, yet it is softer than most. This makes for easy eating out of the cone. Their flavors change daily, so some flavors are rotated in and out. When we went last night I got the apple pie ice cream. It was a light apple flavored ice cream with pie crumbs and chunks of apple in it. It was extremely delicious and I loved it. My wife got the Oreo cheesecake flavor, and I have to say I was a little jealous. I usually don’t like cheesecake ice cream because I find it too rich, but Brusters does it good. Not only was the cheesecake flavor spot on, but the Oreo chunks they use are actually fresh Oreo… not the pre-crumbled Oreo cookie topping most ice cream places buy in bulk and serve. We also went for the waffle cones. Their cones are gigantic and you get quite a bit of ice cream with it. You can taste the freshness in them and they stay crisp and don’t get soggy like some other cones would. Best part is that it’s affordable…$ 4.18 per waffle cone is a pretty sweet deal. If you have a sweet tooth and are craving some fresh ice cream, Brusters is the place to go. It’s never too cold for ice cream, so don’t feel crazy going there in November or December. Just make sure you have the car close by because there is no indoor seating.

Bruster’s Ice Cream sells hard serve ice cream in numerious flavors(at this site… as well as Nathan’s hotdogs). Atmosphere — Stand alone building with tables in the back and coin operated kid rides on the side. Service — The lady I had seemed a little grumpy and not the best personality for what should be a fun place. It was late, so maybe she was having a bad day. Food — The various flavors makes picking fun. Bruster’s also offers various types of cones(e.g. basic, sugar), but to get the waffle cone you need to purchase at a minium three scoops. Downside to the cone situation is that all but the waffle cone is too small. It is like placing the scoop upon a toothpick! I had the double chocolate which was delicious but melted all over my hand… again, the cone is so small. I recommend either getting the three scoops and the waffle cone or getting your ice cream in a cup like my friend’s 5 yr old son so wisely requested. Price — Pricing is decent as 4 scoops, two in cups and two on cones, cost around $ 11. Overall — A nice place to sit out and enjoy some summer fun, just do not wear your favorite shirt!

Bruster’s Ice Cream is little more than a walk-up shack with outside seating, but its ice cream is the best around. I like it much more than places like Coldstone Creamery and Ben & Jerry’s…for some reason their ice cream seems to sit in my stomach like cement. Bruster’s is lighter and more refreshing to me. The location for this particular Bruster’s, which has merged with Nathan’s to serve great hot dogs as well, is great. There is a massive amount of parking, and there are plenty of safe places to walk around in Kenton Place while trying to gulp your frozen dessert down before it melts. I’m not sure if they are continuing this, but they also used to have a classic car show in the Bruster’s parking lot, which was mildly entertaining. Still, car show or no, Bruster’s is a good place to indulge in a little dietary guilty pleasure.
