Here it is years later and this post office is still delivering my mail to an address I haven’t lived at in years. All because the person living in the home (my brother) has the same last name. They KNOW I no longer live there but they don’t care. It’s too much trouble apparently for their driver to correct this problem

I’ve just moved here from DC Metro. Can someone explain to me how a PO has one employee working the counter on a Saturday morning? Even worse, I was told by the employee that this is EVERY Saturday. I waited with my friend over 30 minutes. He couldn’t use the kiosk because he was mailing a package internationally. When we left there were 12 people in line, two people waited on line and left before getting waited on and at least 4 people turned around upon seeing the line and only 1 person working. This PO needs a major reorganization. Someone is not doing his/​her job. I’m new to the area, so I’m going to find another PO to use. Shameful.

I have a serious problem with the post master here as well and will state that whoever replied to my complain lied.
I have filed several complaints and recently tried to follow up on them. Well, on each complaint it was stated that the post master had spoken with me and all problems were resolved. That statement, on all of my complaints, is a blatant lie. I have not once received ANY communication with the post master yet all my complaints had the same statement attached. Funny how that happens isn’t it?

Dear Mr. Tate,
I regret to inform you that your employee ***** refused us service again on 10/​22/​2015. I was out of town on a business meeting otherwise I would have come up there at the time of the refusal to seek assistance from you. Unfortunately my staff had to drive across town to take our Cobra mail out to another post office.
***was told by **** «she did not have time to do the mailing».*** responded with asking if anyone else was available,**** stated «no». When requested to speak with you, **** told her «you were not available.»
I will be there tomorrow with *** to mail out cobra and I hope we are able to do so without issue. I will be following this email up with a phone call from you but wanted to send the email to document what happened.
Mr. Tate:
Per our discussion today (6÷23÷2015) we experienced the same issues with employee *** when trying to mail our Certificate of Mail.
She instructed us again that our mail out «had to be in alphabetical order» and she «would not mail it unless it was». She refused to service us again! When we expressed to her that we spoke with the post master who told us this was not the case, she said «I don’t know who that is or who you are talking about» and dismissed us from the counter to service the next person in line. We asked to speak with you and she said she would get you but then proceeded to then call another person to the counter and did NOT get you to come speak to us. She ignored us and acted like we were not even there. It was not until **** came back from break that we were able to get her to help us and she then called for you to come assist us.
Dear Mr. Tate,
Thank you for taking my call yesterday when I called to inquire about the requirements around my company mailing our monthly bin of certified mail… something that we have come to your post office to do as long as I have worked here which is 10 years… and we have been in business over 20 years mailing the same mail out on a monthly basis.
We have never had any issues and to the contrary have always received excellent service from Yolanda who is always delightful and helpful no matter how busy she is or how long the line is. Last month we did not have the good fortune of being assisted by Yolanda and was quite unfortunate in who was working the counter that day. An employee by the name of *** (not sure about the spelling).
Before being called up to her work space we were already skittish about approaching her due to the way she was speaking to the other patrons before us. Her mannerisms, body language and tone were not friendly at all and very off putting. In a nutshell rude.
To our personal experience, when we were called to be serviced next in line, we approached the counter and provided our bin and print out. She preceded to tell us she would not process our mail unless we put all of the letters in alphabetical order and that «she was not going to court over us» — which was ridiculous to even say, it insinuated to us and other patrons that we were requesting she partake in some sort of illegal activity and that we too were committing a crime. She was very short with us, very rude and just downright unprofessional. I understand as a government worker there are some securities afforded but not only do I pay as a tax payer for her employment but I also pay for the services rendered at the USPS. This does not merit me to receive any sort of special treatment however I do expect to be treated with a tad bit of respect and courtesy just on a basic human level.
My hope is that her conduct can be addressed. Even though this is a specific poignant example, we have witnessed her on every occasion we are there and she is working treat others in the same manner.

Please do yourself a HUGE FAVOR and go to the next parking lot over to the UPS store. On a Saturday morning, at 10am (one of the busiest times they will ever see) there are TWO agents available. One is indisposed helping someone with a passport, so in reality there is only one available booth. I needed to send a package, a pair of shoes (a completely normal sized item) and OF COURSE there were no appropriate sized packing materials to get the job done. When I inquired how I could ship my item, I got a nasty look, like I should have an array of shipping materials readily available in my home at all times. I asked again how I could get my item shipped, and when she looked at me and said nothing I finally asked if I should go somewhere else. She stated «maybe you should». I will NEVER set foot in there ever again. This is the exact reason the post office is struggling. Absolutely terrible customer service. I went over to the UPS store, the nice young man greeted me, helped me immediately, and even offered to tape up my box for me. 5 minutes in and out. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

The Cordova, Tennessee post office is NOT efficient at all. I have stood in line for over 30 minutes in there with a teller at every station and they all take their time and they talk to one another and they go back in the back and take their time back there. It amazes me every time I go in there that they still have the same employees who are wasting time. It appears they are only there to get a pay check. When I mail off items from there that I have prepaid for at home, they sometimes take 2 days to scan them into their system and sometimes they do not get scanned in at all. When I check online, it shows the item is on its way too its destination and has NOT been scanned into the Cordova post office system, only scanned in somewhere along the route by some other post office along my packages destination. There is only one postal worker in there who smiles and is friendly to everyone no matter what color or race you are. The rest of the workers act like you are inconveniencing them by coming into their place of work. I realize non of these postal employees are spring chickens, but if they are unable to efficiently do their jobs and in a timely manner, and with a smile on their face, then they need to be reassigned jobs in the back where they do not have to deal with the general public. I understand their job has the potential to be stressful, but I have very rarely seen a stressful situation in this post office, and I am in there at least 3 times a week. They need employee training on how to smile and be friendly and on how to do their jobs more efficient.

Please avoid shipping any packages through this post office. They will steal it. The last 2 packages that never arrived were listed as «delivered» on the USPS website.
This place is a joke. How they are not being investigated for federal criminal activity is a mystery.

This place really is the worst for service. There are better locations around town so if you’re going to mail something, give this location a miss.
First, there’s the lobby area. There are two self-​service kiosks, great. If you wanna mail something, you can skip the line. The problem is (and I assume this is nation-​wide so I’m not giving them a miss because of this) you can’t get the media mail rates or any of the other cheaper postage options, you have to go up to the counter. Ugh. But flat rate and stuff like that, it’s infinitely better to use the kiosk than wait in line. But oddly, they sealed off one of the slots to drop off mail, leaving only one for boxes. It says you can’t put envelopes in there, but the envelope slot has been sealed off so uh… what, am I supposed to go outside and mail it? No. But the problem? People will see their box doesn’t quite fit and shove it in there anyway. So before when it got jammed, there was another alternate if you were mailing something smaller. Now, whether you’re mailing a postcard or a PS4, you can only use that one slot and once it’s jammed, you’re screwed. Now you gotta go inside and wait in line.
Why? There’s no place inside the counter area to just drop off a box or anything else, you’ve got to wait there and either wait to be seen or hope someone will announce they’ll accept stuff to be dropped off. Pretty annoying that dropping off a box with postage already on it could potentially take 15 minutes — and often does because the drop-​off area in the lobby gets jammed, or will just get full.
Then there’s the employees at the counter. One or two of them are nice, the rest are just awful. And if you don’t have something you need with you and have to run out to the car and get it, or grab some form? To the end of the line with you! You might get one who will be «nice» and let you skip the line and come back to them, but you’ll still have to wait behind someone else… pretty irritating since you’ve already had to wait in line once.
One time I got a notice on my door saying they «attempted» delivery (read: the guy just walked up to my house and put a notice on it because not once did I hear the doorbell ring or someone knock… anyway) and it would be available at the post office. So I grab the notice and head over to the post office… I get waved to go to some indeterminate place to check a computer (??) to see if it’s in the post office or not. Isn’t that their job? I’d already checked and the kiosks wouldn’t help with that, so I was left wondering where exactly I was supposed to go. Those are the only «computers» that the customers can use, there’s no self-​service machine inside the counter area. This still baffles me to this day as even though I’ve been in there countless more times, I still have no idea where this computer was that I was supposed to use to check on my package’s status. (It wasn’t even any computer in general, as checking the tracking number on their website didn’t tell me if it was back at the post office or out for delivery.)

this place is the saddest excuse for gov. money being spent… they are the rudest… miserable…most LAZIEST people i have ever seen on this earth… stay away from this facility they loose mail… they don’t deliver your mail… they cancel magazine subscriptions… if you live on a corner and someone puts a for rent sign… they send letters and say you have moved… i have had mail «stolen» or «thrown away» that has had cash in it… they are a sad excuse one is just dumber than the other… they are not understaffed… they are just down right LAZY… if they got paid by how many people they serviced… you would see them hop like little bunnies… count on that… this is the place they used to film the WALKING DEAD… run

Do you want to know why the postal service is going broke? YES, they could cut out Saturday delivery, YES, email and online payments have cut into business… but you know what really stinks about the USPS… at least at this location? CUSTOMER SERVICE. I don’t care if the line is out the door or 4 people. This location will just take it’s own sweet little time. I go here quite often and am endlessly amazed at how understaffed and SLOW the workers here are. You’re on a salary or something? I get it, but take some PRIDE in your work and shuffle people along instead of making a 2 min. transaction a 5 minute transaction. If you couldn’t tell, I’m more than a little irritated at this location’s service.
