Very nice restaurant. I had the 6 ounce filet. Cooked exactly how I asked. The salad was delicious with the homemade 1000 island and very fresh. Our server was very nice. Very quiet, elegant atmosphere. We even saved room for dessert. Try the hot apple pie! We also had the pecan cheesecake. Both were wonderful.

I went to the Fresh Burger Friday lunch and had a cheeseburger and fries. The burger was one of the tastiest I’d ever had — very high quality. The fries were a little soggy and disappointing, but the burger was more than good enough to make up for that.

Amazing meal! Sat with a group of 10 in the private dining area. Wonderful waiter from Philly area– extremely attentive. Outstanding food! Pricey, though– watch out! Also, husband was dying for a hamburger and it wasn’t on the dinner menu– they ground one for him and wow was it delicious!

Had their Sunday lunch for the first time. Choice was meatloaf or fried chicken. I had the fried chicken. Just like my grandmothers. Delicious! Huge portions. Great service. A great value.

Eh. This wasn’t a wonderful experience, but it wasn’t a terrible one either. The waiter was just a little absent and maybe a bit saucy. The salmon was good, but not 27 dollars worth of good. The bathrooms also seemed to be a little unattended. Maybe this was just a rough day, but overall, not too impressed :(.

Went there with a big party and it was great! A lot pricier than I expected but it wasn’t crazy expensive or anything! Food and service was very good! They were so quick and so friendly! I enjoyed my meal I got the chicken and pasta but I tried my husbands pork chops and a piece of steak from a friends plate and all of it was amazing!!! Great!!!

Once you get past the fact that this place is like walking back into 1991, the service and quality of food is excellent. No wait at prime wait time(Friday at 6:30), we sat right down. Greeted immediately by a veteran server. He was a professional in every way. Our steaks were grilled to perfection, our glasses never less than half empty. Suggestion — Eat outside. A suggestion to the owner — Update the décor to match the food and service, and I will give 5 stars!

This was my first time dining here… Made reservations for Mother’s Day– the place was packed and was glad we didn’t have to wait for our table. The food was really good — see pics for details. We didn’t have to wait long for our food and all of it was served hot and fresh. They serve complementary warm fresh bread –bonus! And they gave us a box of chocolates for Mother’s Day. Nice gesture. Décor: nice and clean. Nothing fancy or over the top while nothing offensive either. The reason I took off a stars: –They do not have changing tables in the restrooms and I had to change my sons poopy diaper in a hallway floor — dressed in my Sunday’s best — sitting on the floor with people walking by was not what I thought I would have to do at a «fine steakhouse» –Service was very rushed. Although Mother’s Day that’s no excuse to be rushed or be cut off while ordering. At the end I clearly ordered two desserts to go but due to the server running a mile a minute he only brought out one and when I tried to tell him he just ran off… so it took about another 30 minutes to get out of there because he would not stand still for a brief moment to listen.

Instead of ordering a full dinner, I opted to dine on the Greek salad and crab cakes. The salad was perfectly portioned and the crab cakes were beautifully done. It was just the right size for me and I loved every bite!

I am very disappointed in what I was expecting to be a great meal. I am, without a doubt, a carnivore. I love a good steak. Those who read my reviews know that we are foodies and at times can be very picky about where we eat out. I will try a lot of different locations, but if I really don’t like your service, food and especially the cleanliness, I am not coming back. Other than that I think I am pretty easy going with what I expect when eating out. Some are good, some are not. The Butcher Shop Steakhouse was mediocre at best when it came to the preparation and seasoning of the food. The steak was, okay, my daughters chicken was, less than desirable and my wife’s pork chop was slightly dry at best. Some of these items, I will admit, if like all the other things I will give you a second chance. However, when you combine this with a price tag that is ridiculously high and service that is slow, I doubt you will see us back again any time soon. There may be a time in the future, the distant future, when my wife and I may be convinced to give it another try, but I doubt it. This meal was supposed to be my ‘WELCOMEHOME” from a long deployment, but instead it was just a ‘glad your back.‘ The one positive thing I can say is the ambiance, when we were there, was very nice. Quiet and relaxing along with spacious seating. Overall, I suggest trying another place out unless you are just looking for convenience.

I am so, so disappointed to do this, but I had my husband’s birthday here back in February and it was an absolute terrible idea. We had around 15 people, so we expected it would take awhile to get our food because the restaurant was packed for a Saturday night. Although we expected to wait awhile, I never dreamed it would take 2 ½ hours to get our food. Our waiter was non-existent for most of the evening, along with letting our wine glasses stay empty for quite awhile. That is a big no-no in my book. My girls and I like to put away some bottles of wine, and especially like to do so when we are celebrating a birthday! Will definitely choose another venue next time.

My first visit to this Steakhouse was absolutely enjoyed! The food and service enhanced a delightful evening out with another couple. The difficulty finding parking in the rather large parking lot was explained on entering. The place was packed. The service for a social meal did not suffer as a result. I suspect that anyone wanting to eat and not socialize might not agree. Beverages including water were on the table promptly, refills also. Our appetizer with extra plates for sharing arrived just before the bread with butter. Salads followed soon after. Unfortunately they use iceberg lettuce. ICK! The main course arrived after a suitable leisurely pause. My rare prime rib was perfectly cooked. The asparagus tender but not over cooked, with a nice sauce. I have to give extra mention to the fact that this restaurant has truly rare prime rib into the evening rush! Finished plates were removed in a way that kept the table uncluttered without making us feel rushed. There was no space for dessert unfortunately, even with leftovers containered and bagged to take with us. A note for anyone who does gluten free. The staff are not knowledgeable on the subject but very helpful if you ask all the right questions. I was really tempted to give five stars here. As you will have read by now, there were a couple of little things noted by the” Picky Princess” part of me. They definitely didn’t take the pleasure out of this visit but…

Not the best Steakhouse I’ve been to. Prices are good, but quality not the best. I’d rather spend a few more bucks and go to a big chain like Flemings or Ruth Chris where the quality is better. I ordered the T-Bone Steak Georgie. All steaks come with a salad appetizer and a loaded baked potato. The salad was blah. Way too much cheese, and you can tell they are stingy with the tomatoes; only 2 grape tomatoes and I know they count because we all had exactly 2. The Fat Free Raspberry Vinaigrette is pure sugar. The steak itself was well prepared; I asked for rare, and that’s what I got. But the steak really was kinda bland. Getting it Steak Georgie style helped, but not much. The loaded baked potato was good. Butter, sour cream, cheese, and bacon. Probably the highlight for me. We shared an order of cream spinach. I’m going to sound like a fat kid, but I really don’t like cream spinach that taste like sauteed spinach and that’s what this was. Not my cup of tea. We finished with the Sizzling Apple Pie. This was actually pretty good. It’s served with one scoop of vanilla ice cream, but our server hooked us up with an extra scoop since we were all sharing. Very good pie and the ice cream was great. Service was good. Our waiter was nice and attentive. Food came our pretty quickly.

The Butcher Shop is a change of pace style steak house. You pick your steak/seafood and you have the choice to have it cooked over an open fire pit or you can cook it yourself. If you like the idea of cooking the food your self then it is a fun experience, otherwise, put on your nice suit and stay seated. You should experience this style at least once.

Delicious. We went for my birthday and I am so glad we did. I had the 6 oz filet and it was cooked perfectly. The décor wasn’t nearly was«dated» as I expected it to be. The prices were far more reasonable than I expected. The waiter was very attentive and I enjoyed my meal(and the company) very much.

The Butcher Shop came highly recommended by some colleges up north so I had to try it. I’m writing this about an hour after eating, and feeling a bit ill on the commode doing things no regular Unilocaler should be doing. Now I can’t say that it was the food here or at lunch earlier, but I have my strong suspicions. First impressions were great. The place is nicely decorated, and the staff is courteous. Expect white table clothes and linen, and the beautiful smell of seared beef on the exposed grill. Do not expect amazing service here though. The waiter kept the drinks full, so props there, but there were a few slips. The bread came out 20 minutes after being seated along with our salads. My colleague has a gluten intolerance and requested no croutons, but low and behold it came with croutons. I had the Greek salad and it was really tasty, but I’m questing the rinse method on the greens at the moment. The entrées came out while we were half way through our salads. It was like they wanted us out of there. We pushed through the salads and let our food sit for a few minutes. My steak was done as requested, medium rare, and it was a decent steak, but nothing note worthy. In the end, the Butcher Shop could be 4 star if I didn’t feel ill immediately after and the service was corrected. The staff needs a little bit of training to really up the service, and that’s an easy thing to correct with a little bit of attention.

Went with a group for a retirement dinner party. I can only give this place two stars. For the cost, this place is definitely Not worth it. The good: The drink(the martini special) was tasty($ 9). The bread was warm and tasted fresh. And the baked potato that came with the meal was good. And the servers were courteous. But thats about it. The décor is definitely lacking. Service is slow. The appetizers came before the bread came out. Ordered a $ 306 oz filet, which comes with a baked potato. It took a long time to come out, and when it finally did, the food presentation was unimpressive and the steak was cold. Someone else at our table said theirs was also cold. The steak tasted dry so I asked what sauce they had, and i asked if he could bring me some bernaise. Since our waiter hadnt come back to check on us, I told the other waiter who brought me the sauce about my steak being cold. He said he would take care of it and took my dish. When the steak came back(10 mins later, after most people were almost done eating), it was the same steak and it was still cold. The bernaise was also cold at this point, but I wasn’t about to ask for another one and have to wait even longer… so I just put the cold sauce on top of the cold steak — then added lots of salt since the steak was pretty much unseasoned — and ate it. At the end of the meal, they brought the check and didnt offer dessert… a pet peeve of mine. It took forever to get the check back — no lie, like ½ hr. Oh and to add insult to injury, they charged me $ 2.50 for the bernaise sauce. My husband had crab cakes for an appetizer(they were ok), and had a chicken salad as an entrée which he didnt really like. He didnt bother ordering a steak bc he had been there a few times previously and said he never liked it, it was just a waste of money. Another of his coworkers said the same. Having tried it myself, I agree. For these kind of prices, this was extremely disappointing. If you want a decent steak, good service, and a good dining experience then skip this place and go to Flemings.

Have you ever dated a good ol’ southern boy from the country? I have and it still ranks as one of my top 5 experiences in life. That being said, there are a million reasons why we would never work out(i.e. I’m terrified of tractors, bugs, snakes, and not being 5 minutes away from a nail salon.). The Butcher Shop is definitely not one of the reasons we wouldn’t work out. What am I talking about? Well, let me explain. The Butcher Shop is a place where the good ol’ boys hang out… even if they are in their 80s and 90s I still think they qualify as «good ol’ boys.» You know, southern gentleman who sit around telling hunting/fishing/war stories and still open the door for ladies and call you«ma’am» in an adorable southern drawl even if they are older than you sheerly out of respect and because they have manners? Maybe I should try to make this a game… how many times can I say that phrase in this review? Anyways, I don’t think it is sheerly coincidence that the Butcher Shop is next door to the Agricenter… because that is also where the good ol’ boys hang. So once they are done with the horses/hunting convention/agriculture whatever they can come over here for a steak and drink. And I loooooooove me some steak and alcohol. I think it is truly a winning combination and try to partake in meals like this as often as possible. So why am I giving it 3 stars? Well, I really would like to give it 4… but they need some serious renovations in this place. And considering you cannot walk out of there without spending less than $ 50 a person… I just think the décor should be updated to reflect the priceyness of the joint. It is just *so dark* in there. I know guys like that vibe, but I could barely see! And it just seems… old. And not in an «ohhh how charming» way but an… linoleum floors and bad upholstery way that you see at rundown hotels. But the filet? Oh honey, the filet is goooood. Buttery and actually medium rare.(I am so tired of restaurants giving me medium when I ask for medium rare.) Definitely one of my favorite steaks in Memphis. But the sides were just OK and the artichoke dip appetizer didn’t have a bang to it. We sat at the bar and the bartender was an absolute doll and while I left having a very good experience… I just didn’t experience that«wow» factor that makes me want to give it a 4 or a 5. I’ll be back, no doubt, because I love that steak… but it will probably be when someone else is paying.

I came here for Valentine’s day and I was incredibly impressed. I didn’t know I could get chicken so succulent and delicious at a steakhouse! Also they had a young man walking around playing the violin. It was a very nice touch and I loved it. We wanted him to play«Devil Goes Down to Georgia» because we are trolls and wanted to see if he would actually play something like that in such a fancy place, but alas, he didn’t know how to play it. Our dreams shattered, we returned to our excellent meal. We went back a second time and loved it as well. It’s expensive so I won’t be going too often(maybe on a Friday if I can ever remember!), but it is definitely a place I will want to go to for special occasions.

The steaks are really very good. I just wish management would tweak a few things about this place to make the whole experience more enjoyable. If you like great steaks, you will find them here. If you like steaks and loaded baked potatoes, you’re in luck. But if potatoes aren’t your thing, get ready to dig a little deeper into your pocket. All steaks and most other entrees come with a house side salad and a baked potato with all the usual toppings. Don’t what the potato? No problem. You can substitute cream spinach, sauteed asparagus or steamed broccoli… for $ 3.00 dollars! Really? Is steamed broccoli so spacial that it warrants a $ 3.00 charge? I don’t think so. But that’s what I ordered because I don’t eat potatoes. What about the house salad? Yes, you can substitute the side Cesar or Greek salad for yet another charge of $ 3.00. Even though the Cesar is more my fancy, I went with the house salad, sans cucumbers. One thing I do like about this place is the meat case and grill positioned right next to the dining room. You can hear and smell the steaks cooking from your table. You can literally walk right on over there and pick out the exact steak you would like prepared for you, if you chose to do so. It’s a beautiful thing. My salad was nothing special. The broccoli… I hardly touched it. The steak, however, was perfectly cooked and had really great flavor. Being the flesh lover that I am, I was happy overall. For the money, however, I would rather go to some place else.
