Miracle Ear

As the publisher of The Hearing Blog I receive many questions from users across America. This morning I received an IM from a severely deaf young lady who had a torn earmold tubing, and since it was glued into an acrylic mold, pieces remained so she couldn’t retube it herself. I messaged her back to just walk into any hearing aid dispenser, as they have the drill-​bit reamer, and it’s a 60 second repair: In fact, retubing an earmold is part of the hands-​on part licensing exam in almost every state; and most of the time the front office staff does it as it’s just a minor repair.
Since this young lady lived within walking distance of this Miracle-​Ear franchisee, she stopped by this morning, only to have the lady not able to get the tube fragments out. This is Totally Unacceptable, hence the one star rating.
