The owner of this quaint shop, Mr. Flowers, is a clock expert and a very kind gentleman. He has clocks of all sizes and ages for sale or he can repair yours. He has cared for my prized possession for many years — clock that hung in first my grandmother’s, then my father’s, now my and someday, I hope, my son’s home. He is moving to a new location on Dexter a block east of Germantown road. The shop is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 to 5 and Saturdays.

I like alliteration, and I like clocks. So when I saw Calvin’s Clocks beckoning me while running errands in Cordova, I decided to stop in and have a look. I want a grandfather clock one day and now I know exactly where to find one. Calvin’s Clocks has some gorgeous models, as well as a variety of mantle and cuckoo clocks. I love cuckoo clocks, although I believe having one in my home might drive me, well, cuckoo. Didn’t stop me from admiring the ones at Calvin’s. The staff was pleasant, and offered to assist me with any questions. All in all, a great little specialty store.

Calvin’s Clocks is a tiny shop located in Cordova, near Milano’s pizza. You’ll find a tidy shop there, with an array of clocks, many encased in pretty, carved and stained wood. If you have an old(or new) clock that needs new life breathed into it – this is the place to go. They offer restoration services — which is indeed hard to find.
