History

Established in 2006.

The owner of Transformations Salon and Spa is Jaime Manary. She was born and raised in Iowa city. She fell in love with Aveda nearly 14 years ago when her stylist inspired her to open her own salon. She has been working with Aveda for 10 years.

Born and Raised in Iowa City, she attended Iowa City West High. She is a loving mother of two amazing boys. Most of her time is revolved around work and her children. Jaime went to La James International College for her cosmetology education. She has been in the industry for 14 years, 10 of those she has been working with Aveda. She has owned Transformations Salon and Spa since 2006 & her business continues to grow.

Rachel Mora is a genius. I have been with her for a few years now. She has turned my hair from flat to fabulous. She takes the time to teach me how to make it look amazing, and keep it healthy. I’m trying to figure out how to post what it looked like post her wonderful abilities to the model-​esk hair I now have! Transformations prices are more than reasonable, and she makes the time so much fun! I am lucky to call her my stylist and my friend!

After reading other Unilocal reviews, I booked an appointment with Colton at Transformations. Not only was Colton extremely welcoming and friendly, but he spent time getting to know my hair, hair habits and preferences since it was my first visit. I love the cut I received and the style was amazing! My boyfriend LOVED it. So much so, in fact, that he threatened to avoid contact with me just to keep the style looking beautiful as long as possible. LOL Success!

Got a haircut and style \with Colton because my usually go to salon didn’t have any opening for me (had a wedding to go to). Got a great hair cut, and the lady next to me mentioned in passing that I should consider a Brazilian blow out, which I got a couple weeks later. Great service, classy but not pretentious, warm and friendly without prying. Colton and Transformations are definitely my hair solution!

Despite calling several different locations home, I have always been loyal to Aveda salons due to their excellent service and educated staff, but Transformations is one of the best. My stylist is Colton and I can always count on him to inform me of the latest trends and, most importantly, be honest with me about the best looks for me. Not only is he an expert on his field, but he is a natural-​born comedian. Never have I ever laughed so hard at a salon. If you live in the area, check out Transformations! I’m confident you’ll never go back to another salon.
