Gorgeous… except for the MOSQUITOS! OMG, they are prehistoric!

I used to come here, as all Miamians, as a young one, to chill off in the cold waters of the 820,000 gallon pool fed by spring water from an underground aquifer.
The coral grottos and the sheer expanse of the pool itself is timeless. It is well kept and luckily is considered the landmark it is and celebrated with special events and performances.
But the pool has a wonderful history of being the stage for so much entertainment and pageants and it is part of the collective memory of our city. To know Venetian Pool is to love it.
I would safely bet this spot is a key place for a wedding or special occasion.

Another must visit spot if you like unique swimming pools. We came early before the heat and crowds and kids set in, so I recommend doing the same. They have decent restrooms and a snack bar for when you get hungry.

Attempting to pay for my husband and I (both with coral gables as the address on our drivers licenses) we were confronted with very rude employees who refused to allow us to pay the discounted rate.
Then attempting to rent lounge chairs… The same rude employees told us they had all been rented. I find that hard to believe as it was a Monday and the pool had fewer than 15 people even swimming.
The Pool: littered with trash and leaves… Do they ever clean it?
The concession stand: CLOSED … The pool is open 6 days a week… And the concession stand is open for two of those days.
In all, I was highly disappointed and would say that the price is far too high for a dirty, small public pool… With rude employees

This is for the atmosphere! I visited during the early hours of the morning when it was closed but you could walk around and have a look from above. The pools are lovely! Would love to come back but they don’t allow children under the age of 3!

It’s extremely nice at the venetian pool. Water is clean and clear plus there isn’t an overload of chlorine for being so large. There is a beach area you can relax at and the pool ranges from 3 – 8 feet in depth with 2 waterfalls and a cave. I only gave it 3 stars because the price is a little steep if you’re not a coral gables resident or UM student. I am a Florida resident and did not get a discount and paid a little over $ 13 to go in and out for the day. Great place to take friends and family and a great date spot in town. I recommend.

Checked off another place on my South Florida Bucket List! Spent a Friday at Venetian Pool and was very pleased with my experience. Entry is $ 13 for non-​Coral Gables residents and in my opinion worth it at least if it’s not some place you go often. The grounds, locker rooms and pool itself are in tip top condition.
Chair Rental is $ 5 All Day — definitely recommend if you plan on being there for more than a few hours. Otherwise you’re options are to sit in the sand or pool deck, possibly a bench if one comes available every now and again.
Pool water is cool and extremely blue — you can’t help but feel refreshed! Caves in the pool are open/​closed periodically throughout the day for those who want to go explore. Wasn’t very crowded overall but I can imagine once school lets out and summer really hits this place will be packed!
I’m a little bit of a history dork so the small amount of history and pictures scattered through the main building caught my eye. Interesting to see how very little the Venetian Pool has changed over the years. Happy Coral Gables has kept the history and Venetian Pool in pristine working order over the years. Will more than likely be back at least once more this summer.

We are here now and having a wonderful time. Pool is large, beautiful and not too cold. We got here right at 10am since some reviews said to arrive early. We got a parking spot right away and we’re the 2^nd people in line.

Such a picturesque place to check out and spend the day at. The price has gone up to $ 13 per person for non-​residents since the last Unilocal review. Pretty chill place to hang out. There is a café if you need a snack.

It’s closed until march 11^th so don’t drive 2 hours like I did… Check the website before you go because is the second time that this happen to me.

Venetian Pool harkens back to an era of American history when owning a pool was a luxury reserved for the rich. Today, for a mere $ 12 per person (for persons aged 13 and older who do not reside in Goral Gables), you can spend an entire day at one of South Florida’s most picturesque and unique historical attractions.
The style and architecture of the facility is amazing to see, but it’s the various areas of the pool that will hold your interest the most. There are several bridges that you can swim under, and a sort-​of hot tub tower overlooking the facility that requires you to exit the pool and climb to get to. However, my personal favourite is the secluded cave that sits below the tower. I won’t tell you about it here; you’re gonna have to experience it for yourself.

Gorgussness! A beautiful piece of history surrounded by nature and relaxing fun. $ 12 entry if your an adult/​non coral gables resident. No re entry. They serve cafeteria food for cheap. No booze, probably for the better. It’s very relaxing until the unsupervised kids start screaming and splashing. Life guards didn’t seem to mind. Bring a towel unless you want to rent one for $ 5. I would bring a lunch/​snack too (no coolers, be discreet) since you might as well stay and enjoy the picnic tables. There were a lot of bees and ants doing their thing. Bee warned ;) enjoy the nature.

As one of the places on the South Florida Bucket List, I finally made it to the Venetian Pool after 3+ years of living here.
I think that it’s a bit steep to charge $ 12 a head to get into a public pool, but hey, it’s partly a historic venue, so I’ll let part of it slide. Not until I was walking out did I realize that the structure was erected in 1924. That’s INSANE. I think that if you are a Dade or Broward County resident you should get some sort of discount-​I would be more likely to come back, even considering the drive to get here.
There are lockers here for rental, and also concession stands if your heart or stomach feels the need. That being said, I left towels and beach bags on the little sandy beach area and nothing was swiped. You may feel less secure than I did, but I would leave true valuables in the car. There are locker rooms and restrooms if you come clothed and or would like to leave clothed/​want to change out of a wet suit before your drive home.
The pool itself is absolutely beautiful. It actually looks like the ocean. The waterfall looks like it is part of a cove somewhere in the Amazon. It’s in the deep end though-​so if you want to get near it you need to be able to tread. There is a large buoy divider in the middle of the pool to keep the shallow (~4′) from the deep end. Mostly for safety purposes since there will naturally be a lot of kids here. The lifeguards do a pretty good job of keeping the rambunctious ones from being little jerks and splashing people who just want to chill, but I had to keep my dad’s words in my brain from years ago «you’re by a pool, you’re going to get wet».
It would be nice to find out if they have adult swim times-​I never used to understand the concept of that and thought it was punishment as a kid. Now I get it. There is a shallow kids’ section which is designed for the munchkin clan if you have tiny tots that are too small for even the 3 – 4 foot section.
My biggest beef with this pool is that there is not enough area for people to park it. There is a relatively large fake beach made of sand that is where we ended up sitting, but if I wanted to sit in the sand (and get covered in it) I would have gone to the beach! There are almost no chairs here, and there really isn’t a ton of shade or tables or space in general for the vast amount of people that are here. I get that the point of coming here is to go in the pool, but every once in a while you need to take a break, chill out and get some water/sun/shade/zzz’s, and there really isn’t enough room for as many people as they let in to do that. This is also based on a perspective of a Sunday after it had rained in the morning (and was overcast when we were there) during August/​offseason. I guarantee it gets worse.
I will come back-​I liked it a lot here. It’s just too expensive and far away to make a recurring outing, so it will be somewhere I show out of town guests when they fly in as a WOW look at this in Miami kind of thing.

This jewel of south Florida was a wonderful delight! I brought my teens for the summer to come to the artificial fresh pool surrounded by coral landscapes.
What can be confusing is the parking– make sure you go to the lot right across the street. In the busy season during summer and hot weekends prepare to see a swarm of people. However, the pool is huge! There are waterfalls and sand for tanning and laying out, as well as multiple life guards stationed at each post.
The length of the pool is wide and it is recommended that swimmers who have short stamina use life preserving jackets– anyone can ask to use them.
We were happy to make our trips out here because of the landscape, cool refreshing water, and the scenic pictures that we could take. Loved the attention the life guards had, never did I feel I had to double check for safety — but be responsible with your children; know their limits and always be by their side. Try and look for coupons and specials online at the gate every adult is about or under $ 20.

This place was a blast for me and my two friends in our 30’s. We went in a weekday at 11am. There was a small line to get in. $ 12 ticket and you can go and come back all day. There was parking in the lot when we arrived. When we left at 1pm people were lined up waiting for our spot.
Pool was not crowded. Restrooms have showers and changing area with lockers. There are benches by pool or the sand area to put your stuff. No pool noodles, but you can wear a life vest. The water was refreshing on a hot day, but if you stand still you will get cold… keep
Moving. There are tables you can eat at.

This place is great to go with little ones, they have lifeguards everywhere. The water is clean and very cold, but I find it refreshing since Miami is very hot. The price is a little much ($ 12 for non-​coral gables residents), I believe it should be cheaper. They have lockers to put personal items (at $ 5) and a snack bar with reasonable prices. They also have a seating area with umbrellas if your lucky enough to get one and an artificial beach to layout and tan. Overall I had a great time with my friends, just wish they had a discount for college students.

I didn’t come here to go into the swimming pool, but Venetian Pool is magnificent altogether. I’ve read that it was built out of a rock quarry way back in 1924. They have caves and a waterfall. If you’re just looking to walk and look around, it’s $ 1.00 per visitor, but if you’re looking to swim and participate in the pool, then it’s $ 12.00 for adults.
Came here first thing on a Sunday morning because it was less crowded and parking was easier to find at the time. Loved seeing their sand and waterfall, and the little bridge right near the entrance. Lifeguards on hand for swimmers’ safety. This is a great hidden gem in Coral Gables.

$ 12 per adult. No food or drinks, but I saw a little café sign inside with a dining area– but I didnt go there during my visit.
As a traveller, I have seen some interesting things and have been to interesting places, and this place is definitely one of the most interesting and memorable experience.
The most beautiful thing about this place is that the water is so fresh! Since it is coming from natural springs, the water was naturally cool and refreshing. The Bartoon Pool Springs in Austin, TX has something similar going on, but the Venetian Pool is definitely much much cleaner and much friendlier in a sense that it has shallow parts, waterfalls, caves, and many other entertaining and lovely aspects. They also have lifeguards all anout and that brings some comfort most especially since there were so many kids running about unattended by their parents.
The bathrooms are large and they offer lockers for $ 5. They have other things for sale at a reosanble price like $ 7 for towels if you forgot to bring yours.
The onlu thing is that parking might be difficult. We got lucky and found one right away.
I can imagine this place being extra packed during special occassions and holidays through the summer, but I was here in the middle of October and it was not busy at all.
All in all, a very lovely time. I highly highly recommend.

I attended for the first time ever on Labor Day weekend. There was of course no parking and we had to circle around a few times to end up parking on what was, essentially, someone’s lawn. The line to pay took us about 15 minutes.
I had a BOGO coupon and a party of four. The rude staff member did not let me buy two and get two free as she claimed that BOGOs are only good for one deal. Well, in all my history of couponing BOGOs have been good for up to 3 freebies. The staff was dismissive and holier than thou which was extremely annoying. They let a lady with a baby stand in line and failed to tell her that children under 3 years were not allowed until she got all the way to the front.
The pool could have been cleaner. There was one area that was really slippery.
We had a great time, despite all these inconveniences. The pool is very large. Even on such a crowded weekend, we all had plenty of space to swim. There is a cool little cave and waterfall area as well.
Unfortunately, I don’t want to pay $ 11.50 per person so I won’t return unless I have a BOGO for everyone in the group. It’s overpriced for what they offer. I think $ 5 would be a fair price to charge.
