University of Miami Health System-Uhealth

I am a student at University of Miami and I went to University Hospital for my earache on January 2015. Before I went to the university hospital to see a specialist, I went to student health center at the campus. When I asked about the hospital fees to the front desk, they told me that I only need to pay for copay which cost $ 40. I went to ENT department, and they conducted many test that were not really helpful to me. I had only earache and it was very easy to treat. I have been to hospital on January and I received 3 bills on March 24^th, April 21^st, and June 11^th. They charged me $ 850 for the first two bills and $ 280 for the last bill. I called the hospital many times but I waited on the line for 45 min, 3 times and the representatives were not very helpful to answer my questions. Fortunately, my insurance company paid some part of the bills and I end up paying around $ 200 which is still to expensive for a 5 minute office visit. I e-​mailed and called them many times but couldn’t get a reasonable answer to my questions. I will never ever go to Uhealth hospital again.

I called to set up an appointment with them but couldn’t make it past the argumentative guy who they had answering the calls. I guess trying to prove a point is more important to these guys than new clients.
