We opened in 2000, servicing the medical and cosmetic Dermatology needs of the Brickell community, and then, through consumer demand, focused our efforts on «minimally invasive» cosmetic procedures, such as the dermal fillers Restylane®/Perlane®/Sculptra®/Juvederm®, Botox Cosmetic®/Dysport®, and a variety of laser technologies to address all cosmetically-​oriented and age-​related skin issues.

Currently, Dr. Jegasothy devotes most her time perfecting these procedures in the face of ever-​evolving technology at her new location in Coral Gables. Her personally-​trained staff attends to the patients under Dr. Jegasothy’s direct supervision and following her guidelines of care.

Dr. Jegasothy is a Board-​Certified Dermatologist with degrees from Harvard and Yale Universities with a boutique Aesthetic Dermatology practice in Coral Gables. Dr. Jegasothy is an expert in Botox Cosmetic® injections and is known for her technique and natural results. She is widely considered one of the best and most precise filler injectors in the nation.

Currently, Dr. Jegasothy specializes and is a well-​recognized expert in nonsurgical cosmetic procedures, featuring Botox Cosmetic®, Juvederm®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Ulthera®. I’m one of those people who is skeptical about everybody’s «guy» when it comes to my face. I used to see A doctor I LOVED in Weston, and was very cynical after bad experiences with other «med spas» and quacks. I was so iffy about seeing a new person, but two ladies I work with told me about Dr. J and I was absolutely thrilled with the quality of her work! I always feel like half the medspa reviews are fake. She is NO medspa (and boy will she make sure you know) but her education and credentials are impressive. Harvard AND Yale? A++ for me! I’ve had botox, voluma and mole removal done at her office (and seen much of her other work on my friends) and I can honestly say she is the only person I can confidently recommend! You get what you pay for and having the peace of mind knowing that she is going to give you an honest opinion and not treat you like a guinea pig is priceless!

Dr. Jegasothy is an artist with the needle. I have been seeing her for over the past four years. Her staff is friendly and accommodating. Her waiting area is intimate and personal and I never wait for more than 15 minutes. Lastly her treatments always make me feel and look younger.

Estoy feliz con los resultados. For a long time I’ve been looking for a solution to remove the marks left on my face from acne. But thanks to Dr. J’s knowledge and her great procedures I’ve been able to get all the acne scars gone and now I feel very comfortable going out on social events and enjoy life. She treated me with fraxel laser and the results were great!

I was referred to the Miami Skin Institute by a friend of mine that was a patient there in the past. I was asked a series of questions by the medical assistant, I let her know what I was there for. The doctor came in right after with the prescriptions that I needed before she even saw me. Dr recommended Chemical peel for my uneven pigmentation on my face so i agreed to do it. I thought it would be an official treatment where you lay down and they prep your face before applying chemical. That was not the case which made me every uneasy. The medical assistant had me wash my own face and then applied the chemical in sections. She had me get up every time to wash the different side of my face. I saw no difference. I paid $ 90 for a few drops of chemical that was applied with her fingers, not even a brush to make sure it was evenly applied. Probably a waste of money for the cost of trusting them.

Dr. J is the absolute best! I would never trust my face to anyone else! She is extremely talented, professional, and just pleasant to be around. Her work is impeccable and making an appointment with her was one of the best decisions I have ever made! She is always honest with me about what I need and what I don’t need, which is rare now adays. I always recommend Dr. J to all my friends and they are really happy with thier results as well. Dermatologists in Miami may be a dime a dozen, but none of them can compare with the results Dr. J gets. I have been going for three years now. After I leave her office, my husband always says that I look so refreshed, but he can’t put his finger on it. Dr. J is my little secret;)

Dr. J was efficient and professional. She was able to identify what was going on with my skin right away and suggest a course of treatment. She did incidate that she does mostly cosmetic and basic derm treatment so if you needed something extensive she may not be your gal.

I have never cared for makeup, so when I started noticing brown patches all over my face, I knew I either had to do something or learn how to apply foundation like a pro. Maybe even spray paint. I went to Dr. J following a recommendation from a friend who sings her praises. I couldn’t be happier.
She quickly identified my problems (melasma and rosacea) and started discussing my options. She even referred me to a pharmacy where I could get the prescription I needed considerably cheaper. Only the time of my follow-​up, my brown patches were almost completely gone and I asked her about my frown lines that two other doctors had tried to freeze and fill away without success. She took care of that stubborn line at ½ the price I had spent on the other doctors.
If you’re feeling at all apprehensive about discussing your insecurities with a beautiful woman who has it all, rest assured that Dr. J is so sweet, genuine, and unpretentious, you will want to invite her AND her assistant to all your social gatherings. These women aren’t who you would expect to meet in Miami.
Knowing I would have purchased anything she recommended to get my skin back to normal, she was honest enough to tell me that I didn’t need to spend hundreds on skin care regimens and serums and creams.
I have never had a problem getting an appointment or finding parking in the garage below. Bring cash for the garage (or use the ATM in the building). I think the most I’ve paid is $ 8, but since I am saving so much on products and useless services, it feels like a steal.

I’ve been going to Dr. J for many years and her office is so easy to make an appointment also there is never a long wait to see her… which is very unusual for many Dr’s. I go to her for many skin issues and trust her to help me solve my problems.

I’ll give it a 3. It was ok, but not amazing. I made an appointment and they called me the day before to confirm. 30 minutes later I get a call back, they have to reschedule me… for a month later. I ask to be put on a wait list, I’m sure they didn’t do that.
The parking situation is horrendous, although I’m pretty sure you can park under the building, I was not told that. The waiting room is tiny and only a few chairs are available, so you basically have to sit on top of someone, because the chairs are tiny (and I’m a pretty small person). The wait was usual — about 30 minutes. I felt like they really packed their schedule and she was very rushed when she saw me, although extremely friendly and reassuring. She didn’t try to sell me on anything and actually told me that there were things she could do, but they were pretty much unnecessary; so I really liked the fact that I didn’t feel pressured.
She does have accreditations hung up all over, along with a plethora of cutouts from major magazines she was quoted in, so I suppose that speaks for itself.

Dr Jegasothy was recommended to me by a few clients who were receiving Botox and were extremely happy with results.
I originally made my appt with her to address eczema that I have had for half my life, and have seen at least 9 dermatologists for treatments… (in addition, Botox consult!).
Well, she completely has my eczema under control, and I have to say did a way faster and better job problem solving how to treat than any other Dr I’ve been to.
And regarding the Botox, she’s fabulous. Very natural and I love that she discusses what you are wanting in addition to her thoughts which made me so comfortable.
Aside from wonderful cosmetic dermatology which is clearly her passion, she is also extremely competent in «traditional dermatology» which I have had such a hard time finding!

After my fabulous experience with Dr J for my rosacea, I made a return trip… for Botox. Go ahead, mock me. Despite rocking SPF 35+ on my body in the gorgeous FL sun, I still see Botox as a necessity and a perfect preventive measure against wrinkles.
I’d gotten Botox a few times in the past and had been beyond thrilled with results however not so thrilled with the price. When I heard Dr J’s very reasonable Botox prices, I was thrilled and briefly feared that I’d become addicted and look like a crazy Real Housewives character. I got my forehead treated with Botox and after a few short weeks noticed that I could move my forehead again (and make wrinkles – gasp!). Hmmmm, not at all the results that I had experienced in the past. I contacted Dr J and went back again for complimentary ‘tox (after Dr J agreed that the results were poor). The complimentary treatment once again provided not so stellar results.
The price is right and I’ll likely head back again for another treatment, but, sadly, I’m pretty certain the ‘tox here is a bit diluted.

I found Dr. J through Blue Cross’ Physician Directory. I had a mysterious splotch on my skin after returning to the Dominican Republic. Convinced I was infected with some flesh-​eating bacteria, I was startled when Dr. J cheerfully announced that it was just some common stain that occurs when citric acid is exposed to sunlight. FYI– the name escapes me now, and so I just call it my «margarita disease.»
Dr. J is so cheerful. I have never had trouble scheduling an appointment for my skin emergencies and follow up appointments. Unlike many doctors’ offices, I am never made to wait long for an appointment. She now has a wonderful physician assistant who can prescribe treatments and who is attentive and knowledgeable.
The only downside is the parking situation. She is located in the same building as Capital Grille in Brickell and the parking garage is not cheap and street parking is hard to find.
Given that I’m so accident-​prone, I’m glad to have found Dr. J.

Thanks to the Maria T’s review here on Unilocal... I found Dr. J in Jan. 09, when I moved from LA to Miami and didn’t know where to go for Botox. I could not have been more pleased.
I am 39 and look much younger but still have my share of frown lines because I am overly expressive, so I wanted to look refreshed but not frozen nor like an alien.
Dr. J at the Miami Skin Institute has done a beautiful job (I have been there twice and will be there again soon) each time. She did my forehead and crow’s feet and I look and feel so much better!!!
I also have recommended her to several friends who have been very happy with the results.
She is also fun and very nice. Feels like you are talking to a friend when you are with her.
I also had a case of dandruff (yuck) that would not go away and she is the only one that gave me a prescription for something that got rid of it.
I can also say that her prices seem very reasonable.

As a teen, I would slather myself in baby oil and lay out in the sun for, oh, about 6 hours. Cronies called me the Sun Goddess. I was oh-​so proud of my glistening tan back then. Well, at the age of 31, I’m not so proud of the freckles, wrinkles and age spots my reckless youth has brought.
As you can now imagine, I’ve caused some serious damage to my skin and that’s where Dr. Manjula Jegasothy at Miami Skin Institute comes into play.
Dr. J is my go-​to skincare guru. Her peels and Botox injections are key to erasing the damage I’ve created. Thanks to her, my face looks younger and I feel better about myself.
And no, you won’t leave here looking like Nicole Kidman AKA Botox face. Dr. J isn’t one to go nuts with the Botox and yes, I can still express myself.
So if you need a great dermatologist, pay Dr. J a visit. She’s spunky, too. I love that about her.
