Giralda Under the Stars

This event is amazing. It is soo mich fun! The whole street is closed and all the restaurant pull out the chairs and tables and one can eat outside. The restaurants are all great. However, make sure you have your patience with you. Usually it is super crowded and takes some time to get a table and food. But it is totally worth it.
They also have live music and free drinks if one ahows up early enough!
The event is admission free! The event goes on from October to April every first Friday of the month. It starts at 7:00 pm and goes up until around midnight.

This wonderful –free– street event is held from October — April on the first Friday of the month from 7:00pm — Midnight. Coral Gables’ Giralda street aka «Restaurant Row» is shut down to vehicular traffic and lined with hundreds of tables from the 10+ restaurants located on this street (and even a few nearby restaurants who are not located on Giralda) GREAT for me because I.love.outdoor.seating! My fiancé knew when he first heard of this event years ago that it would be something I’d love… and he was right!
Over the years, we have attended Giralda Under the Stars many many times. There is always some sort of live music and the weather has been great every time.
Although there are several restaurants to choose from, we usually end up eating from Miss Saigon (but we’ve dined with The Local once as well.) The reason we stick to these two is because they are some of the few restaurants that have tables available both inside and out during this event. Why would we want to sit inside, you ask? …
Unfortunately, many patrons can be greedy with their tables. If you arrive after 8 or 9pm it is extremely difficult to get a table outside because those who arrived early, dined before 7:30pm and are now what I call «parked» at their tables enjoying the rest of their evening. Sadly for us, all but one time now we have spent our «Giralda Under the Stars» indoors.
Still, we eat our delicious meal and then we walk around enjoying the night together. It’s always a great time with him no matter where we are. :)

This is the second time me and my family assisted to this event. We just love it. Great ambiance and full of beautiful people. Last month we ate at La Dorada the food was good but too expensive, yesterday we ate at Talavera the food was great, best margaritas ever and the Mariachi Music made our night fantastic. Definitely we will be back next month to try another restaurant. We are foodies!
