History

Established in 1956.

Pioneered by George Castle, Castle Harbor had it’s beginnings as early as 1949. Incorporated as Castle Harbor Boats, Inc. in 1956 it is now one of the oldest continually operating marine businesses in South Florida. The early days consisted of mostly recreational sailboat rentals and casual instruction. Today, under the direction of Cai Svendsen, Castle Harbor has become a sophisticated Sailing Program for the entire community. Nestled between Fairchild Tropical Gardens and Gables Estates off Cutler Road the Matheson Hammock Park and Marina became the new home for Castle Harbor in 1998.

Gary is a US Coast Guard Licensed Captain, ASA 101 Instructor, US Powerboating Instructor, First Aid/​CPR Certified, Principal Race Officer in Racing Clinic, has 33,000 sea miles and qualified for US Olympic Team 1980 (Stars).
