History

Established in 2013.

We established Barley and Hops after recognizing the need for a supply store in the central Texas area. We intend to perpetuate the home brewing hobby by providing quality products, instruction and coaching. Your success is our goal.

Business Owner

George served in the military for 35 years and retired in the Copperas Cove area. His hobbies across his lifetime were vast and included brewing beer at home. After several years of homebrewing and having extra time to brew at home, he decided to open a homebrew shop in his local town.

Have questions about the art and science of brewing? Need a kit or setup for yourself or as a gift? Need brewing supplies from all grain to yeast and hops? This is your place. The proprietor, George, is a friendly and helpful old coot ;) who is more interested in helping you than growing his business or making a profit off of you. His mindset is seemingly about, imagine this, about repeat customers. George even gives customers his cell phone number so that he can, as he has proven, come in after hours to provide you with that missing or ruined ingredient or part so that you don’t lose your entire brew day.
I absolutely love this place and shop nowhere else for brewing supplies.

Barley and Hops continues to be my go to place for home brew supplies.
The owner George is always ready to offer up help, ideas and of course great products at very competitive prices.
Business hours of the shop are the only limiting factors.
Completely understand you can not keep a business open all hours and only server a single customer in a given day.
So limiting days or hours open that meet the majority of your customers wants is the right business decision no doubt, will invariably leave someone on the outside of a locked door because their time off does not match business hours.
Even with that. I’ll continue to make time to stop in, chat or buy a new recipe. Barley and Hops is just that good.

Great place with great prices. They beat most internet prices on many of the beer and wine making supplies. George will help you work through problems while offering improvements to your basic recipes. I always look forward to stopping in.
